Local Search Engine Hits Quarter of a Million Customer Reviews And Drives For More
Pasadena, CA - September 07, 2005 --- In an effort to help consumers with the rising price of gas, fast-growing local search engine Insider Pages announced today that it will be giving away free gas cards to people who write local business reviews on its web site.
Insider Pages is built around the concept that the best way to find a local business is through a personal recommendation. Unlike the Yellow Pages or other search sites, Insider Pages offers users the ability to search business reviews written by friends and other people in their local area or a specific city or zip code. Today, Insider Pages has created one of the fastest growing communities of online customer reviews.
"The idea is simple - write some reviews, get free gas," said Stu MacFarlane, Insider Pages CEO. "Every day thousands of people in communities all over the country share reviews of local businesses on our site. They're sharing with us so we think it's only fair that we share with them."
In order to be eligible for the free gas cards, users must write 10 reviews on Insider Pages for particular categories of businesses which range from plumbers and doctors to hairstylists and pet sitters. Every time a person submits 10 valid reviews they receive a free $10 gas card redeemable at gas stations around the country. Each participant is eligible to receive up to $30 in free gas cards. This program is only valid through October 31.

Gas Prices Aren't The Only Things That Are Going Through the Roof - 250,000 Customer Reviews
Today Insider Pages also announced that the number of customer reviews on its site had grown to 250,000 making it the fastest growing local reviews site on the Web.
"Gas prices aren't the only things that are going through the roof," said MacFarlane. "We now have one of the largest collections of customer reviews of local businesses in the world. With this huge amount of information it's now even easier for people to find high quality doctors, dentists, hairstylists, contractors, spas, accountants, lawyers and more. Why use a Yellow Pages when you can use a Yellow Pages loaded with customer reviews?"
