I met the owner of the store (Sharon) and ordered my dress last year around November 2009. I had been to the other stores in Raleigh NC that sell Maggie Sottero's gowns but she seemed to be the one who cared the most. Little did I know, I was being scammed!

Shortly after ordering my dress, I moved to England and Sharon stayed in touch with me via e-mail as my mother paid for my gown (her gift to me). Sharon told me that my gown was in the store as of April 1 2010, and I would be able to see it and try it on in November when I come home to visit, I was so excited!!! I had pretty regular contact with Sharon about payments on my dress until August 14 2010 when she stopped responding to e-mails and the store number was no longer in service. Suddenly, neither my mother or I were able to get in touch with her anymore. I found out today that on August 18, 2010 WRAL news reported that Sharon had been scamming many brides to be such as myself by taking our money but not supplying the gowns. Sharon had several conversations with me about wanting me to have a special wedding wearing that beautiful gown that I loved and all along she had no intention of giving me my gown and was taking my money that likely paid for some other brides gown.

It's heart breaking to go through an experience like this. I don't wish Sharon any harm, I just want my dress or my money back. Sharon, if you are reading this, "I am sorry that you are in such a situation that you think it is okay to treat people this way. I pray that you realize that what you are doing is wrong and I only hope that you don't hurt any more brides the way you hurt me. I trusted you and that was my mistake but if nothing else you have reminded that everyone is not to be trusted and even people who seem caring and like good people, sometimes aren't. I pray you find a way out of this mess that you created and stop hurting people with what should be one of the most exciting experiences of their lives'.

What a thief!! I can't believe she was on the news:

http://www.wral.com/5onyourside/story/8155687/

I got robbed too. She never got me my dress but kept lying and said it was on the way until the week before my wedding. Then she told me that she was sorry but she never ordered it!! What a crook!! We need more people to come forward and go to the police!! If you got robbed to by this fraud fill out a police report!! It's the only way to get your money back for sure!!

THERE ARE NOT TWO SIDES TO THIS STORY!! THE OWNER ADMITTED ON T.V. THAT SHE TOOK THE MONEY AND DIDN'T ORDER THE DRESSES SHE WAS SUPPOSES TO. SHE SPENT THE MONEY ON BILLS INSTEAD!! WATCH THIS NEWS REPORT: http://www.wral.com/5onyourside/story/8155687/

IF SHE TOOK YOUR MONEY TOO, GO TO THE POLICE AND TELL THEM YOU WANT TO REPORT A STORE THAT IS COMMITTING FRAUD, WHICH IS A FELONY!!

There are two sides to every story, our experience was great!
The dresses are beautiful and were delivered as promised. Every bride gets nervous, and businsses that care work through that with their customers. I appreciate how we were treated during a very improtant time in our lives.

'm so relieved that people are posting their stories. Hopefully this doesn't happen to others like myself. However, considering I bought my dress in March and several other brides must have ordered their dresses since then, I'm sure my story will not be the last...unfortunately.

I bought my dress from Diamond's Bridal, specifically from Sharon (the owner). She kindly came in on a Sunday to meet with me since I was in from out of town and promised me the world. The dress would be in before I returned in July for vacation, Anna will alter it in 3 days while you are here in July...everything will be perfect. Well, this is almost the last that I've heard from Sharon. She and her daughter have been dodging my inquiries ever since. Telling me that my dress is delayed but they will give me a tracking number and then not answering/returning calls there after. No tracking number b/c they don't want you to know they are refusing shipment.

My dress is a Maggie Sottero and at the point when Sharon's daughter told me "All Maggie Sottero dresses are on a 2 week delay" I knew something was up. All of them? Really? A friend recommended that I contact Maggie. They have truly saved my wedding day. The dress has been sitting in their warehouse b/c Diamond's Bridal doesn't have the money to pay for it to pay upon receipt. I'm out over $500 right now, but I'm getting my dress. Maggie set me up with another bridal shop here in St Louis and they are more than happy to take my dress from Maggie to give to me. I will have to pay full price at the new store, but at least I'm getting my dress. Oh, and trust me, I WILL be getting my money back from Diamond's!

A few tips about Diamonds:
-They are floating money! Taking your deposit and spending it elsewhere, not on ordering/paying for your dress.
-They blame the manufacturer for the delay even though Diamond's are the one's refusing shipment on your dress due to lack of money.
-They are doing this to lots of people.
-I'm pretty sure after I've talked to the manager at Maggie, and gave them the news link on this article:
http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/8065412/
that they will not be selling their line to the store anymore.
-If you are not getting your dress, contact the manufacturer, not Diamonds!!!

Dear Sharon, I'm sure you will read this...so let me be clear. A wedding is one of the single most important days in a person's life. You are ruining people's experience and should be COMPLETELY ashamed of yourself. Do everyone a favor and let the store go out of business. You do not deserve to make a penny for all the people you have hurt. It is places such as this that give small business such a bad name. Feel ashamed and at minimum offer an apology to all the people you have done this to. Your lies have caught up with you and it is about the only thing that you have left to make any part of your wrong doing right. Yes, you Sharon, owner are very much a part of this scheme, so don't try shifting the blame. You promised me a tracking number, you promised me an e-mail back...look at the great example you have set for your daughter.

I ask that everyone who had issues please contact the Better Business Bureau to report your claim. It is our responsibility to not let this happen to other people.

If someone has a Maggie Sottero on order that is getting married this weekend...they have your dress, call them! 1-866-735-8303

I was outraged to hear of the treatment received by the bride that was featured on WRAL. Diamond's Bridal must know absolutely nothing about good public relations. Releasing a half-hearted statement shows the lack of character and integrity this company has. And I am not surprised to hear the remarks on this web site by other people who received poor treatment and lack of service. Brides are stressed enough without having to deal with companies/vendors that don't keep their end of the bargain. It's bad enough we have to pay the prices we do for a weddings.

My daughter purchased a $250 prom dress from Formals by Diamond's at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, NC. Last night was her prom. She had the dress on for about one hour and it literally fell apart. The dress was threaded through a ring in the back, that just broke. Someone managed to tie the dress together, but this ruined her prom. She was afraid the dress would fall off. I took the dress back to the store today, along with the receipt. The man at the store said by daughter must have "put pressure on the dress and broken it". He did say he would see if he could order another ring and would call me if so. Then, he handed me back the dress. I asked what he could do if unable to order another ring and the dress could not be repaired. He said he could do nothing.

My daughter has a friend from her school also, whose dress from this store also fell apart last night. The store altered the dress, because it was too large. By the end of picture-taking (which was BEFORE the dance), the dress was coming apart at every seam.

I would avoid this store and go somewhere more reputable for the same or less money. We have always had very good luck with formal wear from Belks, Cachet, and Dillards.

I went to five places and this was by far the best service. They spent a lot of time with me, suggested styles I would like, and struck a terrific balance between giving me honest feedback and not pushing their opinions. I didn't feel pressured at all, and they were very accommodating about making changes to the dress. I did not end up using them because I feel in love with another dress, but I really wish I could have worked with them!

look no further. I initially visited Diamond's to purchase/order my bridesmaids dresses. During my visit, I noticed the wide selection of bridal gowns that were available. Beautiful gowns - many of those being in the more expensive price range. I've read some of the other reviews about the customer service - I never had a problem with them. They just take a different approach. Both were always really nice and patient with me. Any store has the right to have their own policies about how gowns are to be tried on, appts, etc. It's their choice. If you have NO idea what you want, this may not be the best place to visit. However, I ended up purchasing my bridal gown from them as well - I had it custom made and I could have not been happier with it. On the day before my wedding, they even offered to deliver my gown to my rehearsal dinner site. The ONLY reason that I'm not ranking a 5-star is because my veil was initially ordered in the wrong color. :-( However, the mistake was admitted on their part and they promptly fixed it in time for my wedding. But of course, this type of mistake very close to the wedding would make any bride NUTS!

I worked with Anne while looking for my wedding dress. I appreciated that she only took one appointment at a time so I did not feel rushed or crowded. She was also great at assisting me in picking out different styles of dresses that looked good on me. Only downside is they do not allow you to take photos of the dresses. But all in all a great experience.

I liked the selection of dresses here and they carried high quality dresses; however, their staff was rude. I was in the shop over 15 minutes before being acknowledged. I was alone because my family lives out of town and none of the workers even offered to help me get in the wedding dress (which is normally standard). I just thought they could care a little more about their customers. However, when I was going to leave they became much more caring and somewhat pushy making me take information and wanting to create a "file" on me.

This store has a very nice selection of gowns, tiaras, and shoes however the staff is lacking in helpfulness and friendliness. I felt like I was a burden when I was in the store and did not end up purchasing anything from them. They were pushy when I was looking at gowns and their policies about coming back to try on gowns a second time are strange. Too many restrictions for me. Might be a good place to go to look at dresses if you can put up with their attitude but I recommend buying elsewhere.
