I really don't understand this library. It is small and usually doesn't carry the books I enjoy to read. They hardly ever get new books and the librarians are rude. I took my son the other day and he wanted to play on the computer. It wouldn't go any further than putting his name in. I tried another one. It was the same problem. My son asked a librarian for help. All she said is go to a different game. Then she said I can't help you. I don't know what to tell you. She was very rude. Why have computers in which the games don't work. My favorite library is the library in Pelham. The librarians are nice, they continously get new books in, and there are alot of things for the children to do unlike Alabaster. You would think that the growth in Alabaster would get them to update it or something.

When we moved to Alabaster in 1995, I thought the library was small for such a growing community. Now, 10 years later, there is not much more to the library. The librbay is smaller than some high school libraries. it may be okay for the occasional light reader, but it's not at all sufficient for research or extensive reading.

I believe the city has overlooked the library in favor of growing residential and commercial ventures, but if Alabaster wants to be the largest and most prosperous city in Shelby County, attention, time, and money need to be directed to the development of services.

PROS:
CONS: small facitlity; limited research options
