    On 11/28/10 I ordered a samsung 40" tv from Modia Home Theater. Since then, now 12 days, my emails go unanswered. I have made multiple calls and the people I speak with are hard to understand and their reasons for not shipping vary from person to person. Every questions I pose is met with "I'll have to check on that", "I'll get back to you" and then, nobody follows up. I call to follow-up and essentially I have to start over. Their chat line goes unanswered. They can't tell me what the status of the order is. I have dealt with Jason and Milhondra. All I get is excuses.

    They sold the TV for $1,197 plus $25+- for shipping. I took their offer for 36 months to pay with no interest. I have come to suspect that the real problem with this order is that they sold the tv too cheap to absorb the cost of 0% interest financing. To test this hypothesis, I offered to forget about the no interest financing and use my credit card instead. They offered to ship the tv immediately. The obvious question then, was; so why can't you ship the tv now with the 0% financing? They told me that they needed certain paperwork from the bank to release the tv. I told them I already had the "credit" card with their name on it as issued by GEBank and all that's necessary is for them to charge it. Well, the excuse shifted to "I need you to sign the charge slip". I argued some more with no upside. The next day, Hitesh sent me an email with the purported charge slip and asking for a scan of my driver's license. That was spooky. Funny thing was, the charge slip had nothing to do with me. The name on it was for Nicole XXXX, the account number was different and the order number was not mine. I have sent several emails about this and neither Hitesh or anyone else responded. SCAM?

    For all I know, this could be a very legitimate business. However, based on the way its employees act it conjures up serious questions about the legitimacy of this organization. Based on my experience thus far over these soon to be 13 days, it seems to me that Modia Home Theater is either a very well organized scam operation or its owner and chief executive, Mihir Mody, hasn't a clue about managing anything.

    I plan to file a formal complaint with the Texan authorities for Modia's suspicious activities and will advise GEBank about the shenanigans being perpetrated on its customers.

    I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MODIA HOME THEATER TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY AND MANAGEMENT IS WEAK AT BEST.

    I ordered the LG 47lh90 for a pre-order sale price of 1,299.00. When Modia got the product in-stock they emailed me and canceled my order due to a manufacturer price change. The new price was now $1,749.99.

    Pros: Customer Service, took problems seriously and fixed them

    The only good thing about Modia is that they have very high end Audio/Video equipment. Other than that their prices are high and their service department is worse than incompetent. I bought a Modia brand tv stand that cost over $2k. It immediatly had problems and could not support the weight of my 120 lb tv. After numberous mix ups, Modia finally corrected their faulty designed stand with extra supports undeneath it which are an eyesore to everyone who sees them. After about a year of ownership every part of the tv stand that was glued started falling off. Modia finally came out and took some parts back to their shop for repair. That was 3 months ago. After numerous phone calls to the service department manager and emails I still can not get them to even respond to me. After being lied to and put off for so long by so many people at Modia, I now will never step foot in their store again.

    Set up a straight-forward media wall install, speaker wiring, TV mount and cabinet install to hide components, at Westheimer store. Seemed to have good products and good retail setup.

    Beyond that things fell down. Staff had zero clue about the actual install and project management. I had to make sure they spoke to my sheetrocker and electrician. Ended up measuring my bracket and drawing own plan and wiring diagram so sheetrockers and electricians knew what to do - Modia had no idea about how things were supposed to come together or how to schedule or how TV brackets need to be positioned.

    At least two customer service consultants quit while project was going on.

    Good retail but install phase falls apart. Those with $500k installs probably get more attention?

    I recently had our home theater installed and had three competitive bids. All were comprehensive, but Modia went the extra mile to make sure we had the theater we wanted within my price range. If you have ever installed a full system you know there are a number of details that must be addressed. Modia, and specifically Steve Backer, made sure we covered all bases. Details such as understanding where and when we needed cooling fans, rf converters, interconects, etc. were very helpful in producing a great system.

    All in all, they produced an outstanding system at a reasonable price (which is not easy as you get into high end systems). I am greatful for all their help and persistance in making a great theater experience. I highly recommend them.

    I wanted to remodel the master bedroom and install a home theater on the wall opposite the bed. Our architect gave me a plan that would accomodate a 60-inch HDTV and stereo system. this was all to be incorporated in custom made book shelves and chest of drawers. I wanted to match the system to meet the size of the room and did not want any unsightly wires.

    so i hopped over to Modia and spent over 2 hours working with Mike B. He showed me the range of options available and made suggestions such as running conduits in the wall behind the system which made the system appear "wireless" to the viewer. i wanted the highest quality TV but did not want to over engineer the stereo in the moderates sized room.

    not surprisingly, the remodeling took longer than expected and Mike upgraded the TV twice for no change in price since the models changed. the installation went very smoothly along with two inspections prior to installation by the planning staff. after installation, there were some features about the amp that i did not like, and they swapped it out with another model with no questions asked.

    if you feel like you don't know exactly what you want to buy, then this is the right store for you. they will listen to your needs and match a system accordingly. to get the best service, come in the middle of the week to avoid the crowd.

    be sure to get a battery backup system to protect the components. if you can push all the wires into an adjoining room such as a closet, then you will have a neat and easily maintained system with no visible wires. would also get a dedicated circuit.

When I walked in the door my jaw dropped to the ground. You can tell that no expense was spared in designing this showroom. After checking the place out for a few minutes I was approached by a very professional gentleman. This guy was helpful and even let me listen to a $60,000 pair of speakers. Awesome. After the guy showed me what I needed, I realized that the pricing on the TV was $200 cheaper than all of the other big stores. I bought a Hitachi plasma tv and a b&w surround sound system and I cant wait for it to be installed!! This place is just amazing. I am a school teacher so my budget is smaller than some but the salesman took the time to help me and determine what I needed and did not try to sell me anything outside of my budget. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out when shopping for a TV or Speaker system. Thanks Modia!!!

My original back of the house (zone 2) volume control was interfering with the new receiver or something like that. It was not their part, but nothing would do till they found the right part and came back to install it and didn't leave till they were sure I could work EVERYTHING. It was very important to them that a grandma like me could do everything the system could deliver. Even told me what to do to keep the kids from 'messing' with the sensitive settings. Super team from original phone contact, through purchase to satisfaction! Thanks guys.

Mike took the time to do a free in-home consultation to ensure we got it right the first time. He recommended wiring, components, speakers and even switched our initial thoughts of getting a LCD to plasma after he saw our room conditions. These guys make it so easy and explain every detail, not to mention answer any questions we had before and after the installation. If your in the market for a HDTV, Furniture, surround sound system or anything having to do with all the above, I would definitely recommend stopping by their store so you can see for yourself.
