Dr. Tran has been my dentist for about seven years, along with my mother's. Lisa is helpful and Dr. Tran is very welcoming. I feel very comfortable there. I have had porcelain veneers put in by Dr. Tran and they are beautiful. I get compliments on my teeth all the time!!! Not one person has ever been able to tell that my teeth are not my own. I also referred my friend to get their veneers done by Dr. Tran and he is also very satisfied!

I have been coming here for years. I happen to LIKE it that Lisa explaines the fees up front. That way there are no surprises. I've been places where they say "oh don't worry... you have insurance" Then a month later I get a surprise bill. Why is it considered greedy for a business to get paid for services? Would you call a McDonald's greedy when they want payment for their food? If your insurance doesn't cover the full amount maybe your plan is not so good. The less you pay on your plan, the more you pay in the office. As for the cost being high - you get what you pay for. I take good care of my teeth, so I never need extra stuff done. If you need extra stuff done, it's only fair you pay extra for it. Have you seen the amount of files they have. I bet they have THOUSANDS of patients there. I think things run great for the huge number of people they see. Also.... I have never seen anything in their office that states they are a CHILDREN'S office. I have seen lots of kids in there. They seem to be doing fine to me. If your kid needs balloons & to hold your hand, maybe you should take them to a children's dentist. You could take your little kids out to eat at Flemmings, but if they're too little to sit still and behave "appropriately" for the setting Chili's would be a better idea . Same here.

Lisa is the nicest, most friendliest office manager I have ever come across @ any dentist office. Shes very professional and does her job. That office is the best one in all of Houston. Dr. Tran is the best!

My experience was great from the start. Upon the first phone call, the receptionist (Lisa) was very kind. She was also very knowledgeable about the procedure I would be needing for a broken crown. Her advice comforted me when I was stressed over this broken crown.

The first visit, I went in to the dentist very nervous... it had been about 10 years since I last had a cleaning. The staff was very professional, caring, and courteous. I met Dr. Tran and he was very kind and explained the procedure before he worked on the repair. He was gentle and professional. The office was also clean and comfortable.

The outline of the costs were then explained to me by Lisa before any of the repairs were done, which was great because I then knew what I would expect to pay.

I would recommend Dr. Tran to my friends and family.

To judge a dental professional based on an experience with one person in the office is unfair. I was actually intimidated from the previous reviews, and went in scared of Lisa. Turns out she is very nice and nothing to be afraid of.

I also had a very negative experience with this office that also seemed to focus around Lisa, the person who claims to be the office manager and who makes the appointments.

When we arrived for our appointments for checkups and cleaning, we were informed that they are only doing x-rays that day, we would need to make other appointments for cleanings.

OK?

Then made appointments for cleaning and now fillings (as found out from the first visit) Arrived only to be told the visit was for cleaning only.

Really?

Asked why, she said that is how the appointment was made. I told her she made the appointment, why didn??t she make it correctly?? She didn??t know...??

It goes on and on and on...

not sure if she is just incompetent or if this is how she is instructed to setup appointments to rip off your insurance company.

Either way, it reflects on the entire office and staff. They have no regard for your inconvenience they cause or if you are getting the services you need.

I asked to speak with the dentist and she will not let me speak with him, wrote a letter to him with no response.

Don??t bother with; they are not worth the trouble!!

Lisa Braband is Smile Crafter's/Dr, Tran's receptionist and a dental assistant. She may not massage client's egos, but she's helpful, cooperative and efficient. I have never experienced any "unpleasant, harassing" behavior by anyone at Smile Crafters, and I've been going there for about three+ years. My treatment has included a root canal; a porcelain crown coordinated with treatment for braces with another dentist/orthodontist; dental cleaning; and teeth whitening bleach trays. I certainly wouldn't let a gripe with his receptionist stop me from going to see Dr. Tran. I gave 5 stars for Smile Crafter's, mainly for Dr. Tran himself who is EXCELLENT. It would be completely unjust to rate Smile Crafters/Dr. Tran by the dissatisfaction of one customer with one employee over an insurance issue -- not that that insurance issues aren't important.

Elba G. was contacted by her own insurance company requesting additional information to process a claim. She refused to provide this information to her OWN insurance company; thus the claim could not be processed. Since the claim could not be processed, the patient became responsible for the balance. When she refused to pay the balance, the account was subsequently referred over to a collection agency. When the collection agency contacted her, she became upset with LIsa Braband. All of this nonsense could have been avoided had the patient simply spoken with her OWN insurance company and provided them with the needed information to finish processing the claim. Unfortunately, since Lisa works in the front office, she gets the blame even though SEVERAL attempts were made in trying to get Elba to simply contact her insurance company. Rudeness is not allowed in this office. Unfortunately, some of our patients are a bit uncooperative even if it's to their benefit. Every story has two sides to it.

She is the most unprofessional person, that we had found at a Doctor's office. She has not idea what customer service means. She works at Dr. Tran office, and makes sure that your visit is very unpleasant, harassing the customers with the charges, before they have even been seen by the dentist.
