I am not surprise seeing all the negative comments and rating for this company. I have been working this company for more than two months attempting to accomplish a SHORT SALE under HAFA guidelines that they are servicing for a CHASE account. All documents were provided. They gave me a tough time. Yet, I do have other properties with other collection agency who is servicing for CHASE as well that is going through without a question ask.

1. They do not know what they heck they are working on. Why? One person request for form 184 the other person request form 185. As a result CHASE denied the short sale.
2. After 2 weeks of short sale approval submission, I heard no status back - I decided to follow up daily because I know that they will get tired of me and will actually get this file moving forward.
3. The only thing I get back was "there is no answer yet"
4. I try to expedite the process to management - the FREAKING receptionist kept on routing my call back to the same SO CALL specialist that I was working with. When I have specifically indicating that I DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO THAT PERSON.
5. Manager finally give me a call back, this is what she indicated - all you do is whining. What kind of professionalism is this? Whining? How can I be whining when I have all legitimate documents? How is it whining when NO ONE is assisting? Who is it whining that one document is requested after another and yet, still unable to get approval for my short sale? How is it whining when one employee ask for one thing and the other ask for another? Requesting to expedite with legitimate reason: first short sale approval is expiring, property face foreclosure, and closing is near deadline, is whining?
6. I don't know what these people are doing but, I know exactly what Chase is looking for to approve the short sale under HAFA because I close file with CHASE every months, at least several of time. I really tried to be nice to them so call SPECALIST, but I could not hold my temper everytime on the phone with them because they are just so incompetent.
7. I have no choice but to contact CHASE directly asking for the liason who is handling this account with ACG. I am waiting for Chase phone call so I can get this file done and over with.

Will keep everyone update

This is a corrupt, unscrupulous, underhanded, lieing company. We filed BK last year, our second and 2 other collection agencies were on the BK-the debt was shown as paid as agreed-but this company buys loans for pennies on the dollar-they put a lien on our house-we were never notified-never even heard of them-until we did a title search-we have a good solid offer, our first has accepted it-but you can't get a phone call back-no response-we were lied to from the beginning-we were told that sometimes the files aren't reviewed until the day the home goes to auction-that's too late-they will end up not getting a darn thing and the first will be left with an empty house-It should be against the law to place a lien on a home without any notification to the homeowner. It's under handed and dirty what these fly by night-so called collection agency creeps are doing to screw up peoples lives.

Did anyone suddenly find that their payment increased when it was turned over to Asentia?

I didn't realize they cancelled my online pay until I tried to make a payment....I have received absolutely nothing from either company. It is only after making a few calls do I find that when one is forced into BK (due to injury and 3 years of recovery), Capital One turns the account over to some glorified "collection agency". When I called I of course got the automated payment center which stated that my payment was actually $105 higher than what it has been since I have had the loan. (I haven't found out what this is for yet) I really don't like the reviews I have read about not getting verification of a payment being made on time...I guess it is worth the investment to send a MO by priorty overnight shipping.

Further, it will be a cold day in !@#$ before I EVER purchase anything financed through Capital One again. This is a company that WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES work with their customers in reducing, refinancing (they don't refinance their own loans) loans to help someone ensure they can make the payments in times of "proven" hardship. All they would say is, "you signed a contract"....Too bad I am not a fortune teller, I would have known that when I signed the contract for a new car, that 2 years later I would get hurt and making the payment would be quite the struggle eventually leading to BK.

In all of my 72 years, I have never done business with such an "incompetent" company as Capital One Auto Finance and the Ascension Capital Group. None of the personnel try to be helpful, and non seem to be motivated to do so. Evidently the superiors have the same attitude or something would surely be done. How can such a large company stay in busy, especially with the economy like it is and so many "excellent" people out there looking for employment. I have been "tossed" back and forth from the Ascension Capital Group to the Capital One Auto Finance so many times that it is really unbelievable. In fact the last time that I was talking to the Ascension people, the girl that I was speaking to told me to call 800-227-3836 (she switched the last 2 numbers-- to 36 instead of 63) knowing that the number is for some type of "porno" service. I'm sure that she thought that it was really funny! HOW DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS CONTINUE TO WORK FOR A COMPANY OF THIS MAGNATUDE! I'll promise everyone that it will be a very cold day in hell, when I ever do business with Capital One!

I filed Chap 7. I have not had any problems with Ascension Capitol Group! I work with Taylor Martin; she is great.

Make sure you have done your research because any assets owned or financed are included in your bankruptcy wheter you write it down or not. Your home, car, laptop. If they find out you have items which you can sell to pay off your debt, (and they will) they will make you surrended things such as homes and cars.

That's why your Lawyer of Prosea Attorny will tell you it's not the creditors responsibility to contact you. By law they are not allowed to contact you... remember that is some of the reason why you filed bankruptcy so you can stop the letters and phone calls.

Your lawyer will tell you to call your your creditors to find out who holds your accounts and then to submit request for reaffirmation with the proper forms so the judge will decide wheter you can afford to keep your car or home based on you financal standing.

On another note, I still make my payments to Capitol One Auto Finance through my banks online bill pay because I still have the same account number and the account is still with Capitol One it's just handled by its Bankruptcy Division, Ascension Capitol Group.

Hope this helps!

I agree 100% with all of the previous reviews. I filed bankruptcy due to a job loss. I kept my car out of the BR Was never told that it fell under the protection of the BR. Went to make my pymt on line & had the same problem as everyone else with Capital One. Finally got the info i needed. Ascension Group is one piss poor company to deal with. I do not get receipts. I can email my acct rep & he does not email or call back. I would like a receipt every month to show my pymt has been posted. I do not understand why they do not send out pymt coupons. My rep Sean King told me they did not do that or let you know how much is owed on your vehicle. I would especially love to see what is owed. I do send checks so i can back up payments if needed. I would not recommend this company to anyone for anything. I think Capital One needs to find someone else to handle their business. I do have an old pymt coupon from Capital One so i just might start sending them there. Thanks for the info.

I agree with laura b. Capitol One has not communicated with us, we didn't include this auto loan on the BK and we have never been late with a payment - so now we are transferred to a different company without our approval - they do not answer the phone forever and when they do you are transferred to an account manager that you have to leave a message for because they do not answer. Still waiting for a call back. We wanted to trade it in on a different car because it has been a lemon. We have replaced engine and it is still junk - now what - the BK lawyer says just don't make payments and have them come and get it but we are good people - just because the economy took a dive and we made a mistake doesn't mean we can't pay for the car and be a reliable customer. (the first mistake was filing a bk) Wow, what a nightmare. Best of Luck to all of you. Giving them the lemon is sounding better all the time. how much worse can it get????

I came home from work to find my husband (who had recently filed chapter 7 bankruptcy) on the phone trying to make a vehicle payment to Ascension after being told his direct pay was shut down by Capital One Auto Finance. He was so frustrated and said he had been going round and round on the phone to different phone #'s and extentions that were not valid. I googled Ascension and found the TX phone number listed and called there where I finally got a live person who gave us yet another #. I called that number (877-328-1189) and it prompted me like the other #'s to enter an account #. We had not received any correspondence from Ascension and the pymt. was due in 4 days! The account # I entered was from the Capital One letter stating they removed the direct pay due to the filing of bankruptcy (up on the right hand corner of the letter). WELL - here's where they are being tricky....the Capital One # and the Ascension Capital account #'s are the very same EXCEPT drop the last four #'s. Once we entered that and the last four of his SS#, it let us make the payment. It will not allow you to make a pymt. by debit or bank card though....only by check so have your checkbook out to punch in the routing #, account # and check #. They will not give you a confirmation # but says it will send a confirmation letter. We'll see if we get one, but it FINALLY did take our payment by phone. Beware....seems like a very shady operation to me!!! Funny that the live person I spoke to told me that the account # for Capital One is the same as the Ascension Capital account # but failed to mention that you have to drop the last four digits. They are all in on the conspiracy!!!!!

So confused! Just filed Ch. 7 and went to go pay my auto loan with Capital One, called and just like many others...I have read, was told that our account is with Ascencion Auto. I called the number given and could only get a constant ring, NO ONE EVER ANSWERED! Finally went through and just chose a staff ext. and did get a person. She transfered me to the same "auto payment" line where it once again rang and rang. I still have not been able to actually get through to the line to put in my info. I need help. I will call them on Monday. I am thinking that I should just pay Capital One....any advice???

Thank u Henry R.

I have filled ch.7. Haven't received any communication from capital one or this place as of date. Only know because I went to make payment on capital's online area and account was gone. So I called capital and after going through automated account status, it said account being handled by this place. It all just didn't sit right with me. So I started digging around on Internet. They have an F rating with BBB in Texas.

I'm going to take he advice here and mail my checks on time to capital via priority mail. I'll post what happens.

Makes me so irritated that I've not been late on payments. Did not include in my bankrupty and while I understand they want to protect their asses, they could have communicated with me instead of making me figure this out on my own.

When I'm done with all this crap and back on my feet, I will be leaving capital one as soon as I possibly can.

[Disclaimer: I'm not an attorney, and this ain't legal advice.]

Capital One sends auto loan accounts in bankruptcy to Ascension. Here's all I have to say about them: for a firm that deals with bankruptcies, I find it odd that they DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A DISCHARGE IS! The "customer service" rep just couldn't comprehend what that term means, or that there is a legal document with that name.

If you intend to keep your vehicle after bankruptcy, you can try what I did: make a bunch of photocopies of the payment slip (Capital One will stop sending you statements once you file). SEND YOUR PAYMENTS TO CAPITAL ONE, AND DO SO ON TIME! I recommend paying the extra $5 for priority mail with delivery confirmation. Instruct your attorney NOT to mark "affirm the debt" as your intention for the auto loan: instead mark "other" and write "continue to make payments". IGNORE ANYTHING Ascension sends you or your attorney. Capital One does not want your vehicle, trust me. As long as they get their monthly jack, you will keep your wheels. Once Ascension gets word of the discharge (or whatever they call it), they will return the file to Capital One. Whatever you do, keep making payments with the photocopied slips until you get statements again.

Avoid Ascension like the plague.

This company had my account since Jan 2007. Due to my having to file Bankruptcy. I reaffirmed my debt Jan 08. I have never missed a payment. However, i was told that because they had system issues 2 payment i made went through and then they were reversed and no one can give me any answers as to why. Now my Account is back with Capital One Auto Finance and they are saying i missed a payment. I can't even get the Receptionist ( i guess) to even let me speak w/ a supervisor or Manager saying my account is not longer with their company. Come on now u are not going to tell me my payment history had been purged from the system. My last resort is i am going to be filing an complaint with the Attorney Generals Office because how are you going to tell me i missed a payment and you can't furnish me with the proof.

I worked with ACG for many years and had the misfortune of seeing many good managers and employees leave (or be forced out). People with no experience and no interest in learning what was done at the company seemed to be the only ones able to move up. A layoff occurred in September 2007, and within 3 months everything was so far behind that everyone was requested to do overtime!!! The excuse for this was that we couldn't have anticipated that work would pick up so much in the last quarter of the year. Then they presented us with projections for 2008. I'm sorry but if you can't project what business will do over 3 months to appropriately determine whether or not and how many you should lay off, how are we supposed to trust your 2008 projections? Morale continues to decline, 12 people left within an 8 week period, and management thinks everything is great. Management is not interested in coming out of their offices to determine what's really going on. The finger is always pointed elsewhere, and the more people that leave, the more work is sent to India. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for bankruptcy servicing or employment. They lie to clients and employees and themselves.

I must give a very poor review of this company. I have once heard it said that the treatment you get during courtship will be the best you will ever get. That being the case I would not recommend employment to anyone considering this company. I was called in for an interview at 11:00 am. I was prompt. However, they were not. I waited in their reception office with only magazine dating back to 2004 for four and half hours. I was not able to meet the person I was to interview with they therefore did somewhat apologize and asked me to come back another day. I accepted their apology understanding that times can be very busy. I came back for a second interview thinking of course that I would not have the same thing happen. My appointment was set for 1:00 in the afternoon. Again, I was prompt. However, I did not get into the office of the person I was to interview with until 4:30. The purpose of my second interview was to sit with an employee of the company to see more of the job. However, because the time was nearing 5:00 p.m. and their offices close at that time I was asked to come back again. I obliged and was prompt. However, I did indicate to them that I really did not have all afternoon. That may have been my fatal mistake. However, I did finally get to sit with an employee and learned nothing new. After all I am over qualified for this position and computers, desks and telephone are all things of which I am very familiar including some of the terminology of the industry. I have even developed the skill of actually talking on the phone and using the computer at the same time. I fail to see why this aspect of the interview held any relevance to my ability to perform the functions of the job. After seeing the desk, the computer, telephone and basic software functions, I took my leave and was told that someone would be in touch with me by Monday. Monday came, no one called. I did call them and left one message. Tuesday came, no one called. I called again and left a message. Wednesday came. No one called. I did call and finally did get a hold of someone who told me that the HR Manager would be calling me today. I have yet to hear. I am no longer interested in this position for obvious reasons. I am just curious of what has happened to common courtesy and professionalism in the business industry. Is it completely forgotten? Do people really now think they are more important than others and it is appropriate to waste another??s time because they feel their time is more important. Further more what would stakeholders and clients think if they knew how this company treats people. I have been in the professions business industry for 20 years and I rate this company very poorly.

I must give a very poor review of this company. I have once heard it said that the treatment you get during courtship will be the best you will ever get. That being the case I would not recommend employment to anyone considering this company. I was called in for an interview at 11:00 am. I was prompt. However, they were not.
