I went to this business on 12/05/2012 to buy a new walker. I became disabled in 2006 from a bad wreck that was not my falt and was in someone else's car blowing out both my knees. I spent 20-25 minutes telling the lady the story what happend to my Nova Mighty Mack walker that broke on the bottom left hand side and told her the weld was bad on it. It was my second walker because the first one was replaced by Tuality Medical and Supply in Hillsboro and the second one turned bad too and came unwelded in the same exact spot. I never joyrided the walker or took it up and down stairs ever. Needless to say this lady all she wanted to do was argue with me and say that Nova's walkers and products do not break and are 100% good. She also said that she could not in any way guarantee that this new walker I were to buy there would not be guaranteed by the store and that the new walker would break and come unwelded and do the same thing. Yet the paperwork on all the walkers said they had a lifetime warranty on them. On First Avenue there are disabled businesses everywhere. Two blocks down there is a home for disabled vets. Next door to her is a business and workshop for the mentally and physically challenged. Down the street is a club and activty center for the mentally and physically challenged. Also on this street there is a home for drug treatment and there is one person there that is physically challenged I have seen out on the porch. I did not cause my knees to go out and feel like this lady felt like I did. She did not want to be there and hated her job. When my walkers broke I called Nova's customer service and they told me that I broke it and never sent anyone out to inspect the damage and wanted me to buy a expensive digital camera to get the damage and I did not have $600 to buy one. I am sure that Tuality Medical and Supply told them to not help me and said I broke the walker and I did not in any way. I felt like when I went to this business that I did not matter as a customer. I wanted to buy a walker and all she wanted to tell me is that these walkers do not have problems. All I know is what happened to me and know I am not the only one. I have figured out that walker stores are paid by Nova and have a big huge monopoly on their products and disabled people cannot go with anyone else when buying disabled products they have to use when they become disabled. Since this incident I have met 4 people at the VR office in Portland that have had problems with the Nova walkers and meet people all the time in coffee shops and grocery stores that either know someone that has a broken Nova walker or has one that broke and have welds that are bad. So I know for sure I am not the only one with this issue. Customer Service is a big thing if as a business you want to stay in business. Also you do not blame customers for why your business is not doing well. All I wanted to do is buy a new and extra walker not be blamed for breaking it when I did nothing. As Willie says on Restaurant Steakout on Food Network if you want to stay in business there are changes you must make or close down and do the world a favor. I was treated horribly and just wanted to look around and was told that I had to buy another Nova walker no matter what. I do not have to do that. Why would I with the experience that I had? (see my YouTube video)I deserve better and do not have to do business with anyone who does not treat me right as a person. Customers are your business 100%.
