Cooke's is a little hole in the wall that I had been overlooking for a long time. Just a few months ago my husband and I went in and found that they had great food in a neat small time atmosphere. There are about six tables in the restaurant and... that's it! I highly recommend the tri-tip- tip, baby back ribs and the awesome cupcakes they have for dessert!

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. The ribs combo was only $17 and the food wasn't drenched in sauce, which is how I prefer it. My order of the beef ribs were a little dinky, but I think it was a fluke since both my friends had good size beef ribs. It was okay though, since it was just the right amount of food. The beer on tap selection was limited, but they had Firestone Double Barrel, so that was good.

The place was small, but the booths were roomy. It had a nice quiet atmosphere and plenty of street parking, but I did go on a Wednesday night. There were quite a number of people that stopped by for take-out orders. I was a little concerned about the service since the reviews I read on another site had a number of complaints about it, but the one waitress that was there was good and attentive. I'm definitely going there again.

UPDATE July 2007: After writing my review, I decided to go there again the next day. Food was still good and the beef ribs were a bit bigger. Not as big as the ones my friends got the first time, but they were nice and lean, so it was fine. Btw, I found out that they had bottled root beer. I only had the Jackson Hole brand, but there were two or three other versions available.

Pros: good prices; quiet atmosphere; good service

Cons: not close enough to where I live (but that's probably good for me otherwise I'll be going there too often)
