It was just the sort of pampering a Mom-to-Be needs before that big day that changes everything. The massage was wonderful, the pedicure devine (especially when you can no longer reach over your own belly to touch your toes). The experience was just the sort of gift any expectant mother would love.\r
\r
PS Daddy-to-Be this is the perfect gift for the woman who is carrying your child. Something she will remember with fondness for years to come=big points in the husband department!
Pros: Wonderful pre-natal massage package
I received a gift certificate for a hot stone massage and hot stone pedicure from my husband, and it was delightful. Also, their newsletters offer some very good deals & specials.
Pros: The most relaxing place ever
Cons: Expensive
I've had more than a few good experiences at Synergy Spa, and have made it one of my favorites in my GPS. (Since I'm new to town, I still save GPS favorites so I don't get lost!) Great massage therapists. Great facialists. A quality establishment. m
Pros: Serene, Convenient, Friendly
Cons: Small entryway and front desk
I have been to many top spas around the world (Adler Therme in Siena Italy, Bliss in NYC, Bellagio in Vegas, etc) and this hidden gem offers services on par with the best in the world! I recommend this spa without reservation!
I had my first manicure at Synergy Spa the other day and the experience was wonderful. The people were friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Although I only had the manicure (which turned out great), if the other services live up to the same high expections, this place is a hidden gem (its tucked away in a little strip shopping center off Glenwood).\r
\r
The even called me the next day to thank me for my patronage. \r
\r
I will definitely be a return customer.
Pros: atmosphere, staff
I have gone to Synergy for at least 4 years and had every where from prenatal massages to spay tanning. I go when I am in need of a massage and every one has been great.
Pros: clean, quiet, great experience
Cons: small
The owners of Synergy Spa are devastated by the closing of Iatria Spas. We can not imagine what it would feel like to have to walk away from our business, our amazing team and the clients who support us. We worry that the closing of this spa sends out the message that our industry is suffering due to the economy. Of course we are all feeling the effects of the economy, however there are several spas as well as many businesses that are holding their own. Our real concern is for the employees who are now faced with having to find a job in a market that has very few options. Additionally, we are also concerned that consumers will hesitate to buy gift certificates or frequent spas. If you are a former employee with a solid work history, please email us your resume (email address can be found on our website). If we dont have a position available for you, we have numerous contacts within the industry and will try to help you locate a new position. If you are a client left holding an Iatria Gift Certificate, we will work with you to redeem these with us; we only ask you give us some time so that we can figure out a way to best accommodate everyone. For more information on redeeming your gift certificates with Synergy Spa please check our website in the coming weeks for details.
Pros: concerned owners
Garrie gave me the best massage I may have ever had. And I used to be a massage therapist. He was truly amazing! I also had a wonderful one from Nicholas - so they are both highly recommended.
You would never know a spa could be ""tucked away"" in a shopping center. But it is so quiet with the lights perfectly dimmed and so relaxing.
Make sure you book your next appt when you check out. If you do, you get 10% off! It's a great deal! Oh - and treat yourself to a 75 or 90 minute massage. The effects are so much greater then with a 60.
Pros: quiet, relaxing, great customer service, Garrie, Nicholas
Cons: have to make appt in advance
I am part of a bachelorete Party and we decided to give the Bride a day at the spa! She loved it and so did we!
Pros: Great Price, Great location, Perfect Gift Idea
I am indeed a fan.
I have never had a good massage before. This one knocked it out of the park. Bridgette did exactly as I asked, really loosening up my tight muscles with a tremendous amt of pressure as a deep tissue massage should. 2 days later, I feel incredible and my muscles are limber - as if I've done hrs of yoga.
They even followed up to make sure I was happy with the service, which was thoughtful of them.
-1 star because the add on exfoliation treatment was something I could have done at home.
Verdict: I urge you to come to this spa. Worth every dollar.
Pros: The best massage I've ever had.
Cons: Exfoliation treatment wasn't worth it.
The website is great! It is very informative about the treatments. Every time I call, they are very helpful and have great customer service.
Pros: great staff
Cons: little costly
Four stars only because there's no indoor pool. It's conveniently located, quietly situated. The staff are professional without being pretentious. Love it !
Pros: The atmosphere is soothing
Cons: Not enough hours in the day to spend in their care !
This salon has a great vibe and is very well run. The staff is very professional and take their time with you. The atmosphere is calm and its a great place to indulge yourself!
Pros: Great ambience
Synergy does the best manis and pedis in Raleigh. It's relaxing and long lasting. I don't get them as often as I'd like, but I'd rather save and go here than anywhere else in town.
Pros: relaxing and long lasting nail services
Synergy spa makes you feel comfortable and at ease; you leave feeling like a million bucks! All the employees are friendly and eager to answer any questions.
Pros: friendly, reasonable prices, convenient
I get 2-3 massages a year when my back gets tight and this was hands down the best massage I've ever had. I like very deep tissue massages and have found that it's hard to find a masseuse that can go deep enough. Allison listened to my request for a true deep tissue massage and gave me what I asked for. It really was the best massage I've ever had.
Pros: great location, nice ambiance, great massuese
The staff is professional and great at what they do! Relaxing and peaceful setting in a small environment. I have had massage, exfoliating scrub with spray on tan and manicure and all were wonderful. I highly recommmend Synergy to anyone looking for a spa service with pampering!
Pros: wonderful staff and services
Synergy Spa is centrally located and ideally suited for anyone who needs a rejuvenating boost after the workweek. Receiving a gift certificate for a birthday present, I'm able to enjoy a true brain & body vacation at this spa. Guys, spas aren't just for women, they have Gentlemen's Special packages which will get you ready for a romantic night on the town, or just wash away the week's worries. I plan to return.
Pros: Location, services, staff
This is my all time favorite spa! The customer service here is excellent, you always feel taken care of when you are here. The waxing service is also the best around! I would highly recommend this spa to any newcomers or first-timers!
Pros: Best Waxing in town!
Lovely spa--very relaxing with tranquil, positive energy. The owner, Anna, is very sweet and philanthropic. This is a first class spa with professional staff members who are classy, friendly and helpful. I'm taking my Mom in while she's in town this weekend--so you know that's a compliment! We could go anywhere in Raleigh and I want to take her to Synergy. Kudos on a wonderful job, Anna & staff!
Pros: Tranquil setting; skilled staff
Cons: A little pricey, but worth it
I have been to Synergy several times & have had many different services. Every person that I have met there has been friendly & professional. It is a relaxing environment and I have been pleased with every service (waxing, massage, scrub, manicure, pedicure). As someone who has extremely sensitive skin, I appreciate that they offer hard wax for waxing. It has made such a difference on the redness & swelling that I usually get with regular wax. I also love getting the monthly specials emailed to me. There was even a discount after my first visit for making a 2nd appointment within a certain period of time. As long as I am in the Raleigh area, I will continue to come to Synergy.
Pros: offer hard wax for waxing, great service, relaxing
Cons: wish i could go more often!
From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed! The attendant at the front desk was personable and helpful...made me feel quite comfortable..... especially being this was my first visit. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing, even in the waiting room....which I was only in for a short time. The Tech was extremely knowledgeable and she took the time to asses all my needs and answer 'all' my questions! At no point during my visit did I feel rushed, nor did I feel it was all about the quantity of clients, verses the quality of service! I have already made another appointment and will continue to do so. If you want to be pampered....Synergy spa is the place to go! Sincerely.......Kimberly (aka: new client )
Pros: atmosphere, knowledge and personalities!
Cons: can't affort to go more often! : )
I have never had a bad experience at Synergy. My husband and I have both had treatments and would highly recommend Synergy's services.
Pros: friendly staff; experienced massage therapists
Cons: none that I can think of
I'm not dissing the spa, I am just upset about the after effects of my facial. I have never gotten a facial and broken out so badly afterwards. I dont know if its their own line of products, I am always wary when a spa has there own skin care line, My skin has been flawless, no acne for years and whatever they used gave me white commodones all over my face, it s a disaster. I would like to try a massage at this place, maybe? I dunno, just sort of frustrated, I have a date tomorrow. And i look like pizza face. Owner and facialist were very sweet. Not recommended for facials.
Pros: Nice friendly staff, easy to get to location
Cons: Facial, skin care products
I have had two massages at this spa - both great experiences. The tables are so warm and nicely padded for comfort, and the staff are all so friendly. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing. The first time I went, I had the 60 minute Hot Stone massage. At the time, the description on the website wasn't as detailed, so through most of my massage, I wondered when the hot stones would finally come into the picture. They were finally brought out towards the end, which was a little disappointing given the name of the massage. I see that now they describe it as only using hot stones on the back, so at least you know what to expect. The next time, I had the full 90 minute massage and they use the hot stones the entire time during this one. It was fantastic! I definitely recommend spending the extra money for the 90 minutes versus the 60 minutes. It made for a great birthday gift!!
I received a gift certificate for my birthday to go to synergy. I was pleasantly surprised. The spa is decorated tastefully with a very clean and minimalist style. The staff was helpful and friendly. I had a deep tissue massage for 90 minutes. It was amazing. The masseuse gave me some tips on keeping my shoulder muscles more relaxed. She did a wonderful job and I would definitely go back for a similar massage from this person. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Pros: clean, professional, affordable
I received a gift certificate for Synergy, had never been there before. I went with a friend to receive a pedicure and I loved it. The atmosphere of Synergy is very relaxing, you are offered hot tea when you are brought in the waiting area to relax before your session. The pedicure spa is very comfortable and relaxing, especially when they offer you the hot pack to place on your neck while you're getting your service. I highly recommend Synergy and be sure to sign up for the emails of their monthly specials which has great deals on different services each month.
Pros: atmosphere, staff, monthly specials
Cons: location is a little difficult to navigate, on the corner of oberlin and glenwood ave, but worth it
na
Pros: price, location, environment/atmosphere, staff
Synergy Spa was absolutely wonderful! I had received a massage as a gift from my boyfriend from this spa. The service was absolutely fantastic. The spa itself is very clean and a modern feel to it, and VERY VERY relaxing. Charity did my deep tissue massage and I loved it. I have had deep tissues before and this massage was above par. Not only was my massage great and my overall experience, they called me the next day to thank me for my business and were so nice. I will be going back!! And I refer everyone to visit Synergy Spa as well!!!
Loved it! Soooo relaxing!!! I highly recommend the facials! I am definately getting a gift certificate for my friend for her birthday.
I love the online gift certificate capabilities and the treatments are first class!\r
Great gift for anyone in your life :)
Pros: Thumbs Up!
Synergy Spa is my favorite in the Raleigh area because it is small and intimate. I especially love the pedicure area because it is private and the silk cushions are much more comfortable than massage chairs. The staff is always warm, friendly and quick to assist you.
I went to this salon for a manicure having been given a gift certificate. The manicure was the worst I have ever had. The manicurist didn't even seem to know how to hold the nail file, and my nails all ended up different shapes and lengths with jagged edges. The manicurist then put so much polish on that the polish never dried and it all smeared the moment I left. I also questioned how sanitary the service was as the manicurist?s nails were extremely dirty. I'm not usually one to complain about poor service, but the manicure was so bad that I decided to e-mail the salon. I received a prompt response stating that the manicurist I had seen was new, apologizing for my dissatisfaction with the service, and offering me a refund for the manicure I was unhappy with, as well as a free manicure in the future. I responded to say that I would appreciate a refund, and provided my mailing address (which they should have already had as I provided it when I went in for the manicure). When I had not received a refund several weeks afterward, I e-mailed once again and asked about the status of the refund. I was told that a gift certificate had been sent out. I responded to say that I did not receive the gift certificate, and that I would prefer a refund, as I had been promised. I also confirmed my mailing address. I received a response stating that a refund would be sent. Several more weeks passed and I still had not received anything from the salon. I e-mailed again and was told that the check had been sent. They could not explain why I hadn't received either check or the gift certificate, and they stated that they didn't know what else to do. Needless to say, I will never be going there again.
This will be quick but to the point. CARMEN IS WONDERFU!! She does the best pedis and she's really friendly and easy to talk to. When ever I go I always get my favority color ""No I'm not a waitress"" and even without all of the fancy designs or a French I get loads of compliments on my pedis. I highly recommend this place and Carmen.
Pros: Carmen
Cons: Nothing
Great aestheics to the place. I have not yet been here, but plan to over christmas break with my mother. My best friend says its the best place in Raleigh, and we go to salons quite often. I have never heard a negative review about this place, or their prices.
Thank goodness for Synergy Spa!!! My wife has gone to Synergy Spa multiple times for massages, especially when she gets really stressed and tense, and she always has amazing things to say about Synergy. In particular, she always praises the staff and talks about how friendly they are. \r
\r
Pros: Great staff and pricing
This is my favorite place in Raleigh I have found to get a massage. The staff is friendly, and it is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. They gave me lots of tips to help my back and neck pain in between massages. Normally when I get massages, the lotions and oils bother me because of all of the perfumes, but they use just the right amount, not too much. I always leave perfectly relaxed and refreshed! The citrus water they give you to drink is great as well
Pros: great atmosphere, great massages, friendly staff
Cons: small area
I had the best spa expersience at synergy spa. The facial was amazing. It was very relaxing and transformed my face. Also, the brow wax was perfect. My eyebrows are the perfect shape for my face now. I won't go anywhere else but synergy spa.
Pros: nice staff, very professional, relaxing atmosphere
\r
My ultimate pampering is an occasional message!! I usually get three to four a year.\r
My experience at Synergy was the best so far,and I am in my late forties.I have been back several times and the consistency is amazing.Treat yourself or someone else.
Pros: Relaxing environment, pleasant & professional staff
I went to Synergy for an eyelash tinting and found the staff to be very kind. The spa is warm and inviting, and the prices were not too expensive for the average Jane. My eyelashes looked great and weren't all blue around the edges like at another spa I've tried. There is also a 15% off deal on your second spa appointment-worth going back again to try a new treatment!
Pros: Parking, Staff, Skill
Synergy Spa is a convenient oasis. With its within-the-beltline location, it is a dream to get to. Also, the prices are fantastic. When wonderful deals are combined with good service, it is hard not to be happy. Everyone should give this spa a try.
I had a fantastic manicure and add on wax - service was outstanding, treatments terrific. They even called the next day to ensure that I had a good experience. Why would I go anywhere else?!
I was there a couple months ago and I'm actually going back tomorrow. There is a lot to say about how amazing my first experience was as that I live about 1hr and 30 min away. There are many spas in my area but I'd rather drive to synergy because of my experience there. I would recommend gary as a therapist anytime, he was amazing!
Pros: Great massage and customer service
Cons: I wish there was a locker room and shower to change and reapply makeup after services
I have been going to this spa since its opening and enjoy a great massage every time! They also offer wonderful nail serivces. I love their pedicure room...so relaxing...perfect for friends!
I have never had a massage before and am currently almost 8 months pregnant. Just this morning I went and had a prenatal massage done by Allison. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted immediately, given some paperwork to fill out since I am a new customer, and was taken back to the waiting area. It was very calming in the waiting area. I liked the low lighting, soft music and candles. Allison took me into the room and we chatted about what to expect and if I had any questions. I was given plenty of time to get undressed/dressed. The table was so comfortable for me with a giant body pillow. Allison used just the right amount of pressure in all of my aching areas! She made sure that I was comfortable. I would definitely say that my 1st massage experience was a great one. I hope to go back again in the future.
Pros: I felt so comfortable there!
Cons: I should have scheduled it for longer! lol
I went to the ""Girls Nite In"" party at Synergy last week and discovered my new favorite thing--pain free smile whitening! I am one of those people who paid $300 for professional tooth whitening at the dentist, with the trays, the goop, the whole nine yards. It worked, but it was so incredibly painful to me for weeks and weeks that I have never been able to psych myself up to do it again. I am too sensitive for laser whitening. I have tried the over the counter strips, the toothpaste, etc, and none of it worked well for me. I had almost given up, and then I encountered the BleachBright system at the Synergy party. This treatment had a long line that night! They said it was good for people with sensitive teeth. I thought, what the heck, I'll try it. I sat down with a few other ladies at the light machine and put the special trays in my mouth for 20 minutes. The technicians kept checking to see if I was becoming too sensitive, but I gave them the thumbs-up signal. So far, so good. After the time was up, we checked my teeth and they had lightened up 3 shades. Pain free. I am ecstatic and will definitely be doing this again! White teeth are the very best beauty secret--they make you look younger, brighter and healthier! Maybe this is botox for the teeth? :) I have been using my ""maintenance pen"" and am thrilled to report great results and still no sensitivity.\r

A note about the spa: I have had several treatments here in the past and have always been happy with the atmosphere and the professionalism of the employees. I feel like they really have your best interests at heart and would not recommend treatments that would not be suitable just to get the money. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the trust that the clients have built with them. I do not often get to treat myself, but when I have a little extra money, this is a place that I always feel like I got a good quality service, a true treat. I would not hesitate to recommend the services at Synergy.
Pros: Great products, up on the new stuff.
Cons: I can't come as much as I would like to!
Consistently pleasant reception area & workers. I tend to schedule massages on short notice, and have enjoyed a variety of therapists at Synergy. They are all great! Attentive, deliver on requests for specific pressure or extra work in certain areas. The setting is superb. I feel good the minute I go through their doors, and am never ready to leave.
I'm new to the area and have tried several spas and Synergy is my FAVORITE! The entire staff is wonderful and I love that they remember me. The massages are fantastic, the facials are relaxing and the manicures and pedicures are the best in town. I love this spa!
Pros: Thumps Up!
My best friend and I gave each other massages for Christmas here and it was the best that I've had in the area. Very relaxing!
A friend took my to Synergy for a pedicure as a birthday present. Having just moved to Raleigh, I had not experience any of the spas down here. However, my experience was truly lovely. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is extremely relaxing, and the service is superb. They also have great specials and discounts on services. Im really excited to go back!
