Dr. McLendon delivered my second child, and was the main doctor on my high-risk case for my third child. I have had only good experiences with the ladies and gentlemen in the practice - whether they are doctors, nurses, or midwives... They've all been good or great! I only had one personality clash - and chose not to see that doctor again (though, unfortunately she was the one to actually deliver my third child). I felt blessed to have them on my side, and the side of my babies when the time came. I have been going to this practice since 1998. Even when I was without insurance, it was worth the cost to see the doctor I know and trust.

When I moved back to GA 6 yrs ago, I was pregnant. I started see Dr. McLendon, as I was referred. He was great during my entire pregnancy and post-check up. He was not the MD on call that night but the Dr. who delivered was great too. I have continued to use this practice for the past 6 yrs and have never had a problem. I have been seen my the CNM (during pregnancy) and the WHNP and everyone one is very nice. I would recommend seeing Dr. Harvin (my MD now) or Dr. McLendon; they are both very sweet and listen to you! All I can say about the below comment on billing, is that if you think you have a problem, just call and discuss it. I haven't had a problem with billing but I know the staff is courteous and will help you in any way that they can.

Do NOT use this practice!!! On 6/9 I had my first OB appointment. Two weeks later the billing department called to explain the $750 bill they were sending, $500 of which was the deductible. I paid the bill and my check was cashed on 6/25. Coincidentally, that same day I was suffering from severe neck pain and called the office to ask about seeking chiropractic care. After three phone calls from a nurse and having never spoken to the doctor, I was instructed to go to the ER to be tested for meningitis. I argued that I didn't have a fever and didn't think it was meningitis but they scared me into going, saying I couldn't put my baby at risk. Just like I thought, I didn't have meningitis. Fast forward a couple weeks and my insurance is stating that I owe the ER bill because I hadn't met my deductible. I argued that I had and after dozens of calls to this practice and my insurance provider, it was finally communicated to me that Kennestone OBGYN shouldn't have billed me and they owed me a refund. I learned today that it will be 9/27 that I'll get the refund - at the earliest. Yes, 3 months later. My new OB (the doctor, not a nurse) always calls me back within an hour and that office actually checked my insurance before sending out any bills. I strongly urge anyone considering this practice to find another provider.

The best thing about this group is one parking is free, two your wait is minimal. The best doctors are the women: Dobbins and Keelin-- the men are a bunch of old southern republicans. Once I told the doc that I thought I had a yeast infection. Instead of giving me an exam he told me to change my soap. Needless to say I went into preterm labor at 21 wks and Harvin was on duty. He told the nurses to turn off the heart monitor (we were listening to her heartbeat) because our daughter wouldn't live. GO SOME WHERE ELSE TO HAVE YOUR BABY. I am pregnant again and have changed doctors.

I have really enjoyed coming here during my pregnancy. There was only one OB I didn't care for because he did not explain what he was doing. I prefer the midwives because they take their time with you and don't seem to always be in a rush to get in and get out. They are willing to answer any questions you have, even the most embarassing ones.

They certainly are great until you have any problems with the hospital staff. As long as you can handle just being another number and having providers unwilling to go to bat for their patients, they will suit you just fine.

I had my first child with Kennestone OB/GYN, and fell in love with the doctors there. They always took time to answer my questions and explain things to me, and never acted as if they were too busy for me. We ended up moving over an away during the pregnancy, but I continued to see them as my OBs. I am now pregnant with our second child, and even though we still live 60 miles away, they are still my doctors!

I've had both of my babies through these guys. The doctors are great, and some of the NP's and Mid-wives are even better! They are always good about squeezing you in when you have an emergency. Parking is great, but getting out of the lot can be tricky. Tons of happy customers as baby pictures line the hallways.
