Desert Breeze Park
by cas s.
Dessert Breeze is a lovely park! It's a shame that the Merry-Go-Round is two dollars for a VERY short ride. ( I thin we went around about six or seven times counting the slow-down circle) My grandson cannot ride alone as he is too short by their measuring stick, so I'm required to ride with him, and they charge me $2 too! It is definitely NOT worth the time and expense. The railroad is a nice little trip around part of the park, but the other little rides are 50 cents for less that a minute - another rip-off. All in all, the only thing close to worth the money is the train.

Large, fun filled park. Big play area for kids of all ages. Plus, a water play area....probably more appropriate for younger children... not very exciting for a 10 or 12 year old boy. Large lake stocked with fish for a different kind of fun. Plus, on weekends, there is a train and carousel for kids to ride (small fee). Also, on weekends, a snack bar to get a treat or cold drink.

Dessert Breeze is a large park that we go to often. They have a railroad around the park that you can ride. It is great for little kids. They also have a merry-go-round and snack bar. If you do not want to spend money, there is a large lake with good fishing. You can also feed the ducks or play on the playground or in the water feature.

The Desert Breeze Railroad has a really fun ride for the kids (and grownups) that takes them around the perimeter of the Desert Breeze Park in Chandler. Kids will crowd into the popular caboose, but there are many seats available that give better views. You'll hear the "toot" of the whistle and it feels pretty authentic. If your child is below a certain height you'll have to ride along. Cost is reasonable and you can buy a ticket book for cheaper tickets. They have a snack bar and carousel with a few 50cent rides if you have to wait for the train to come around. You can host birthday parties here too. Hours vary due to the season.
PROS: gives kids the feel of riding a train, pretty inexpensive
CONS: you might have to wait a little while, but there's a playground right there

Desert Breeze is a large older park with multiple playgrounds and a spray pad. There is also a miniature train that runs around the park, but it seems like it's never open when we go. There's also a merry-go-round, some arcade games and snack machines.
PROS: Large park, nice group ramadas
CONS: Railroad is rarely open
