I loved it there! They were very good at piercing and very friendly. They are all very knowledgeable in the technicalities of piercing and would be a good place to go to if you have any questions about your piercing. Definitely check them out if you're in the Raleigh area.

Seth and Lee are awesome! When I walked into the shop it was a very calm atmosphere. I can't stand it when you walk into a shop and they are blaring hard core punk or metal while someone is jabbing something into your body. They have a lot of knowledge about what they are doing. I would recommend this shop to anyone that wants to get a piercing done right.

Progress is one of the best body piercing shops in North Carolina hands down. A knowledgeable staff, an immaculate shop and great customer service makes for an amazing experience every time I go. I will be a loyal customer of Progress for the rest of my life. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best body piercing possible. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

I don't think I've ever felt more comfortable. They are very knowledgeable about the art, and the best approach for anything you want. Seth even teaches classes from time to time if that tells you anything. They really seem to be pushing the boundaries for body art. As for the shop, well lets say you could probably eat off the floor. It's an extremely clean environment. Trust me,do yourself a favor if your considering getting pierced and check Progress out!!

the moment i walked in i was impressed with the piercers. they know what they're talking about and they're not trying to rip you off or lead you wrong. they want you to come back. it's insanely sanitary and there's a buttload of beautiful jewelry to chose from. progress should be a landmark!

Pro-gress is a very professionally set up piercing shop. Seth has the innate ability to use his vast piercing knowledge and his great personality to make even the most nervous person feel relaxed and comfortable. They also have an incredible selection of body jewelry. Just go there, you'll see...

I've been to most every shop in this town at one time or another - being from a bigger city I am used to a little bit more out of shop than what the tattoo shops here have to offer when it comes to piercings and jewelry.
When I walked in I could tell these people were serious, huge comfortable lobby with relaxed music, and jewelry cases everywhere. The wall was lined with certificates of one kind or another. The staff was nice knowledgeable - as much as when I was NYC - but what blew me away was how clean it was.
My piercing was virtually painless and the process seemed flawless, they even went through breathing exercises with me for a few minutes before I was pierced. I spent more time consulting with them on the all the jewelry options than the actual piercing.
I was also educated about aftercare in a way that I never had before, even at my old shop back home, not only did they explain how the thought I should care for my piercing but they also explained why - for a minute I thought I was back college taking biology LOL! although they did sell me aftercare products it wasn't a power sell and actually offered up alternative businesses that offered similar products for less than they could sell them for. I was really impressed was really impressed with that.
(it seemed like they were more interested in me than my money.)
I doubt I will be wanting more piercings than I have now, but if I did I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Fortunately for them I am a bit of jewelry fanatic and they got the selection so the will certainly be seeing me again.
If you are reading this in trying to find the right place to get pierced, take my word for it - they are serious about piercing - its all they do! they have a staff that is considerate and educated and an amazing selection that rivals bigger cities but still keep it at price consistent with other local shops (NYC is WAY more $$$ for this caliber of an experience btw).

I went there and got my nostril pierced and have gotta say that it is one of the best places that I have been in. I was on vacation from maine and my friend wanted to take me so I have to say it was one of the best experiances. The shop is clean and the piercers are nice and very big on health so it made me feel good to know they cared about me taking care of my piercing so it healed safely.

I can't say that I am huge piercing enthusiast I just wanted my navel pierced this turned out to be one of the only places in town that could do it (I am super sensitive to metals and they carry titanium). The store was relaxing and the piercers were informative. It wasn't the cheapest shop in town but prices were fair given the quality of the jewelry and the experience of the piercer (you should have seen all the certificates on the wall!).
I'm not sure I will want another piercing, but if I did I would definitely go back to progress.

I've had several piercings from other places, but won't go ANYWHERE else after I found Pro-gress. Seth is very professional and personable and his shop is clean and comfortable. He has an extensive selection of jewelry too. There are a lot of places to go to in Raleigh for piercing, but I'll stick with the best!

I have been getting pierced since 1998 and was totally blown away by the piercing at progress. Seth and Lee sat and talked to me for more than an hour about what would and wouldn't work and why. They were polite and very patient with me. I was looking for some surface piercings and they explained that what I wanted would work better if I did dermal anchors-I had never even heard of these! Seth explained the whole process to me and made me feel comfortable about getting them. I came back on another day and Lee did them and they've been great. They are both knowledgeable and have a lot of training. They talked to me like I was a friend and they never had any attitude at all-I've gotten a lot of attitude from other shops in the past. If you want a great piecing experience definitely go and see them-they are the best in the triangle!

Fabulous Experience

I went to Seth to have my navel repierced (long story). He talked to me about what went wrong with the last piercing and how we could change things for a better experience the second time around. What a difference! My jewelry fits, the piercing was painless, and I got an education about piercing/aftercare, all with a dose of good humor. The studio was serene and spotless; the jewelry selection was amazing, with some truly unique handmade pieces. I will definitely be back for more piercings and more jewlery (and yes, for the follow up inspection of my new navel piercing). After this, I won't go anywhere else!

I went there about 6 weeks ago for a piercing and i swear it was the most pleasant experience i've ever had getting pierced and i've been pierced plenty. It was relaxing, professional and I was VERY informed. To anyone considering a place to modify yourself in any way, I highly reccomend seth and progress in general.

Who needs the attitude

I went to Progress for aftercare on a new piercing and to get a new one. I was told that the piercing I wanted would not work for me. I tried to disuse other options with the owner and ran into attitude. I ended up getting a piercing with him and I can't say anything bad about the piercing. He did a nice job. I do like the other piercer in the shop Lee is sweet and very helpful. I left this shop after the piercing the Seth did and went to a new shop. Now I can now talk with my piercer. I have add more piercings and have plains for more. Something I had said I would not do when left Progress.
Don't wast your time there are so many other piercers that don't consider themselves Gods.

this was my first piercing ever... however, i still feel this was the best place in town. the staff are friendly and knowledgeable (down to the scientific level). the prices compare to other shops in the area. this place only does piercings, no tattoos, so all their energy is focused on piercing. the place is clean and organized. staff are experienced and professional. i've had no issues with after-care.
Pros: they do not do tattoos, their focus is on piercings

Progress has it all! Outstanding location, great ambiance, cleanliness and impeccable customer service. I wouldn't get pierced anywhere else. In fact, I encourage my out-of-town friends to make the trip to Raleigh to be pierced by Seth. The shop's decor and the staff's demeanor create a calamity unmatched in the industry. Seth's knowledge of piercing, his resume, and leadership in the industry demand respect, and his interest, care and concern for each customer make you pleased to give him that respect.
