The campus is large, for a community college. Nice facilities, including: the library (or called the Learning Resource Center), small cafeteria, good class sizes, swimming pool, tennis court, so on. I've taken two classes at Mesa. All of the classrooms are for about 30 students on average. There is air conditioning in most of the classes. Every room has a television set. Next school semesiter, the fees are decreasing by $6 per unit. It's a sweet deal. Mesa college is a popular option for kids graduating from high school as well as adults who want to start up a profession. The classes are fun to take, just to learn something. I love how convenient and cheap parking is. And during certain hours, about 1-6 pm, parking is free.

PROS: Parking, facilities, library, pool, variety of classes, air conditioning
CONS: No impressive architecture, some very old looking buildings

This school is okay, but I rated City College higher, both for its environment and the faculty. The faculty is good at Mesa, but I feel the profs could be a little more encouraging of their students. It definitely seems a bit more like a university than other junior colleges. You can decide if that's a good or a bad thing!

San Diego Mesa College offers courses that appeal to anyone wishing to continue their education. Whether you are a first time college student looking for an inexpensive way to gain some credits; a business professional looking to expand your resume with certification; or an adult wishing to take a couple of specialty courses, then San Diego Mesa College is the place to be. There is not nearly enough on-campus parking, but then, that is the case with most colleges and most businesses in San Diego. Use public transportation if you can. The friendly staff of teachers and counselors really care about you and your future, and will help you put together an education plan that is personalized to you and your educational needs.

This campus is a great place to go to if you don't want to pay the high prices for a college degree. The campus is very diverse, with a lot of people to help you with what you want to do. I really like the counselors because they really seem to be concerned with what you want to do with your future. Financial aid is offered as well, but the classes are pretty cheap. The people are pretty nice, even the campus police.

PROS: cheap, friendly
CONS:

Mesa has a ton of classes to choose from, but get in early because they fill up quickly. Parking is horrendous. Most of the courses are easy, but the teachers do take roll so you have to attend.

PROS: Lot of classes
CONS: Parking is terrible.

Mesa is a good transition school from high school to a larger university. The campus still has that high school feel to it but offers a very good and wide selection of classes to choose from. There are a number of talented teachers who could easily be found at university campus.

When I attended Mesa College back in the 1990's, I read somewhere that it was the largest junior college. That says a lot! The campus is large and spread out well, there is definitely a college vibe when you're there. They offer a lot of classes. Mesa's emphasis seems to be on getting an Associate degree or transferring, and not really so much learning a trade, although they do have programs there. Because of its size, the facilities and amenities are also good (gym, library, cafeteria.)
