Auto Answers is a ripeoff!! They will overcharge you & add work to your service order that doesnt need to be done. I had them put in a brake switch & received a call saying that was not the problem. I than asked them to see what the electrical problem is. So when I show up to get my truck the brake lights worked mysteriously. "I wonder" ......They charged me 30 min. to diagnose the electrical issue, I don't even think they did.. There answer was the master cylinder was bad & radiator needed replacing. Ah....I don't believe that is electrical! After leaving Auto Answer the brake lights worked until the next day. Brake lights & cruise control stop working.
I took my vehicle to reputable automotive mechanic were they found that the old brake light switch was reinstalled & new switch on floor board. New switch was installed & a wire harness was said that it looked like it was cut. Harness was replaced & cruise control worked again. I had the master cylinder & radiator checked out & neither was bad.
What a bunch of liers. I am not going to tell you were to go but will say never take your vehicle to Auto Answers. I have also heard several stories about them over charging & doing work that does not need to be done. If you do go to them, keep your old parts for proof when your repairs are complete & you have to take the vehicle somewhere else.
Good Luck!!

Buyers Beware !!!! Auto Answers- Beltway 8 in Humble, TX

A new Auto Answers was built within walking distance of my home off of Beltway 8. My car wouldnt start one morning although I had just had a full diagnostic and new battery installed a week ago by Christian Brothers. I called CB and described the problem, they said the problem was an electrical issue, most likely the relay to the starter, since the starter had just checked out okay the week prior and because the starter did not make a clicking sound when I turned the key... They said it was a fairly inexpensive fix, less than $100 but no one would charge more than $150 since the part is only $45. So instead of having my car towed to their shop which would cost $50+, I decided to have it towed (free by AAA) to the new Auto Answers that was just built within walking distance of my home since it was such a simple fix. BTW-the AAA tow/mechanic immediately checked the car out and told me the starter wasnt getting any power and that it was the relay. Imagine my suprise when my "mechanic salesman" called to tell me that my starter was no good and that it would cost $660 to replace. I told him there was no way the starter was no good and even if it was why on earth would it cost $660 to replace when the starter is less than $200??? He read me another script about their gurantee. I asked about the labor, he told me it was $125.. So that leaves $535 for parts. Told the salesman that I would have the car picked up and hung up.. He called back and told me that he found a cheaper one across town and that he could get the cost down to $550. I told him I had just called the dealership, and they were still cheaper. He said he would call the dealership. He called me back in 5 minutes to tell me that the dealer part was a little cheaper and now he can get the price down to $492. I told him I called Pep Boys and their charge for a new starter parts and labor was only 300.13... He said he would talk to his "General Manager" and let me know. He called back around 1230 and said he can take $50 off and now my new starter is just $442. Since AAA was going to charge $60 to tow to Pep Boys, I decided to go ahead and let them put the starter on. Well, 430 he calls to say they received the wrong starter for the parts supplier on the other side of town and that the new starter was on the way. I never heard back from my repair salesman after that. The next morning, I just knew he would call me immediately when he arrived to shop at 630am. Nope.. He called me at noon to say they just finished putting the starter on, but that i had a hole in my transmission pan, that my car was leaking power stearing fluid and my gasket valve cover was leaking.. how is that within a week, i now have all of these items leaking when they were non-existent the week prior??? My best advice for anyone, is to bypass this place. I pray that they change their practices soon and that they will be blessed financially so they dont have to do these things to others. Please, everyone who reads this, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO AUTO ANSWERS.. I'm sure there may be many people out there who received good service from them as indicated in the reviews, but I did not. I was ripped off and taken advantage of I think because I am a woman. BUYERS BEWARE!

Yeah, I've noticed these con-artist Auto Answers mechanics and service writer thugs posing as Domestic Auto Experts or Auto Answers "real former customers" as well. Their just trying to salvage their Titanic sinking straight to the bottom of the ocean's depths due to their history of pilfering gullable auto service consumers for years now. Nightmare like service! This business is HADES ON EARTH! The most dispicable and horrendous auto shop I've EVER dealt with. RUN, DRIVE, PUSH it away from their shop and parking lot as quickly as you can. NOW they are fronting a new name to try to slickly go on sticking it to innocent men and women in the wallet and purse. Now they're clowning as "AUTO ANSWERS." BEWARE, you honest Christian consumers. RUN from them. They'll get you like highway robbers. I don't have a problem with their English, never did. Besides, they fired all the honest Latino guys a long, long, long time ago. Now all they have is professional grifters posing as "service writers" and "mechantics" and "mechcheaters."
They replaced a manifold gasket and charged me thousands of dollars for it. Then they wouldn't honor fixing the bad work only six months later when it blew again. CHEATS! LIARS! AUTO ANSWERS will stab you so hard in the side, financially speaking, that you'll be begging a good honest cop, or Messiah like attorney, for a ride home hitch-hiking down the freeway minus your transportation to get to work. These are the select breed of mechanics and service writers that make all the cops, attorneys, and wrecker drivers, across Houston, look like Andy Griffin in episodes of "Mayberry." I kid you not!, oh my Brothers and Sisters consumers! I say Beware Auto Answers. If the Texas Attorney General possesses a soul, and would ever stop taking the owner's kickbacks to allow him to stay open for pilfering of the naieve public, then the state would shut them down and confiscate the keys and the Attorney General would mandate an judicial edict that the DPS burry the keys to Auto Answers deep and secure at the center of Planet Earth's hot core where they could be melted a thousand times over! Any ASE mechanic or service writer, anywhere, that wanted to get filthy stinking rich, practically overnight, could just take a Polaroid snapshot of Auto Answers' business plan and mission statement, then do the exact opposite of EVERYTHING they do to their customers, and the way they treat people, and they'd flourish and prosper and expand to corporate level as a state or nationwide franchise, ASAP.

I recently had a problem with my 2003 Dodge Caravan which was suddenly having poor acceleration and horrible mileage. It seemed like it could have been a bad O2 sensor, or fuel injectors, or fuel filter. After having performed the three jobs over the course of an entire weekend and still having the same problem, I decided to take it to Domestic Auto Experts. While I waited there I let them know what parts I had replaced already and they went ahead and double checked to make sure those parts were working correctly as well as performed a compression test on the engine. It turns out that there was a broken valve spring on the #1 cylinder. They said they would have it ready a day later because they had to special order the valve spring, and put me in a rental, which was only $9/day! This was great news because we had spent too much on a rental from a 'big' name rental company already. I got my caravan back in no time and it was running perfect again!

I wish I had taken the Caravan to them the day it happened, instead of wasting time and money on it myself. I never would have figured out the problem with the valve spring. Thank you Domestic Auto, you guys really are Experts!

On June 3, 2008, I brought my cadillac to Domestic Auto Experts on Morton, Katy, TX. My car had a loud noise Conly went with me for a test drive and immediately knew what was wrong. We returned to the shop where a technician checked my vehicle and Conly was correct with the problem with my vehicle. They brought me home and repaired my car in the same day and even came back to pick me up! I felt that I got great service and special attention. When he quoted me the price of my repair it was the same price that I paid when it was repaired - he never called and said there was something else wrong and it would cost more - the cost was exactly what he said. I would highly recommend Domestic Auto Experts for your car repairs.

Domestic Auto Experts has been my automotive shop of choice for the past 3 years. In those three years I have been extremely satisfied with the service and staff at the Morton Rd. location. They are always honest and up front with me on the condition of my vehicles. I appreciate that during oil changes they perform a complete auto check every time to make sure everything is in order and that there are no safety issues present. Keep up the great work! The shop is very clean and you can even enter the work area to view your vehicle being worked on if you so desire.

THIS PLACE IS NOT REPUTABLE, HONEST, OR QUICK. Filthy mechanics, fifty managers up front, dumb-ass technicians that do not speak enough english to explain WHY they busted my a/c hoses. how does a leak occur when its at YOUR SHOP????
The thickness and outright lies by these other reviews made my stomach turn. I wouldnt recommend this repair shop to ANYONE.
Not only did they wrench my A/C hoses apart causing leaks, they wanted to charge me 1500.00 to remove my dash, send it out to their "technical shop" (?why?) and have the gas guage changed and calibrated. I swapped out my own feul pump for $120, and fixed the gauge right then. This place has their own employees posting reviews on these sites, to keep the real reviews from being seen by people that really need to know. These people should be shot.

They quoted $1000 for a fuel pump replacement other shops quoted $530-$600 for. On the invoice they claimed there was smoke when they opened the hood. This was untrue. I changed the fuse for the fuel pump myself before it was towed in

I went into Domestic Auto Experts' Katy location two days ago for an oil change -- the people were so nice and friendly! As a woman, I sometimes get nervous when dealing with auto repairs, but not here! They really took the time to explain everything to me and make me feel at home. The best part was that my oil change came with a free tire rotation, so now I don't have to wait in line at another place to get my tires rotated!

Now I understand clearly why many people confide their bad automobile repair experiences with friends and neighbors instead of filing complains ?? it takes too much time! For every person that files a complain there must be many who never file any for lack of time, access to a computer, etc.

After wasting so much of my precious, I have decided to take the same position as everyone else ?? why bother? My decision not to pursue this matter any further is made solely for the sake of saving time and it does not in any way change my belief or the way I feel about this bad experience.

Update: My vehicle is the Ford Windstar. Year 2000, 85,000 miles on it and well cared for. I brought the vehicle in for some minor service and was notified that the main bearing seized or locked up. No one knew how it happened and even indicated that they have never seen anything like this. DAE is not charging any labor for putting in a new long block. They were very understanding and sympathetic about what happened and tried to lessen the pain of this unexpected expenditure as much as they could.

PROS: Willing to go the extra mile financially to help you.
CONS: None.

The employees and managers at this location are extremely friendly. This location can be busy at times, but they do an excellent job trying to begin servicing your car as soon as they can. They provide water bottles for the customers in the waiting area. The mechanics are very skilled and their prices are not bad.

PROS: Friendly employees, good results
CONS: Busy sometimes
