Took my laptop in to purchase a new charger and while I was there had her look at a wireless problem I've been having. She took my laptop apart and found it was not connected. GREAT service, will recommend!!

Went in, they're nice enough at least in the beginning. My hard drive for my tower died, wanted to make sure there wasn't anything they could do, like recovery or repair. Paid $35 just for them to plug it into three different machines to tell me what I already knew (Fry's does this for free, btw), and to tell us that there was no recovery for it. When I came in to pick it up, the side panel of the case was missing, and when I asked about it, they said that it had been written on the docket that it came in without it.

I dunno about you, but I know *I* wouldn't carry anything that I'd paid $2000 bucks on back in 2008 without all the proper protections, which includes the side panel. Immediately had the suspicion that they'd written that on later for some unknown reason - maybe one of them sat on it and wrote it their to save their asses, I don't know. I DO know that about a week after I got the computer back, I ended up moving, so if I had 'lost' the panel myself, it would have been found since we went through EVERY box, item, everything, of ours, and never came across it.

The tech offered to help find a new one. Waited an entire month. Got fed up with waiting for him to find one (you could ONLY check ebay? really?) I called the manufacturer, took fifteen minutes, and now I have a new side panel for the tower being shipped within the week. I'm surprised they hadn't thought of that, since I would think that would be the FIRST place someone would look for a replacement part.

I called them, because I paid for nothing AND had to spend more money replacing something they'd lost. I requested my money back politely, got a very unfriendly "NO". Still saying I never came in with the side panel, which is a total lie. I confronted him by saying that NO ONE in their right mind would carry a $2000+ piece of equipment OPEN like that anywhere. He said I got ripped off. And sure, if I bought all that stuff TODAY, in 2011, it'd have been a ripoff with the updates to technology. But back in 2008 I bought every separate piece bit by bit and built that baby myself with the help of some tech friends of mine. It was a good deal three years ago. Did he think I'd just bought the computer yesterday?

Anyway, he hung up on me, I wasted $35 bucks to lose a part of my computer, thanks. Never coming here again, and will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. I didn't realize his pride was as cheap as $35. Whatever happened to "The Customer is Always Right"?

I had a problem with a power supply on a Dell computer and within 10 minutes of arriving, they had the bad power supply out and replaced and I was out of there! Great service! Will use.

The good old max computer is gone. Replaced by a company that is a shadow of its old self. The company no longer meets my expectations. The attitude of the owner is atrocious she seems like she doesn??t know what she is doing.
My laptop took much longer than quoted to fix and the price was high. When talking to a few other places after this experience I was told that the repair was much too expensive and I should demand my money back.

Ever since her technicians quit the company has gone downhill. The store moved to 162nd and I have taken in laptops and desktops to this store and I no longer take in my desktops. Whenever I taken in my laptop in the owner has a bad attitude. The last time (and this will be the last time I ever go in) she told me it would take a week. I called back a week and a half later and was told she had opened it and she was working the motherboard or something like that.

After another week I went in and demanded my laptop back so I could grab some items from the computer I needed for a presentation. She went back and grabbed the laptop and brought it out to me. I asked her if she had fixed it. She said no I haven??t even opened it yet. I then confronted her that she told me she had it open and was working on it two and a half weeks ago. She denied ever saying that. As you can imagine I was quite upset.

I grabbed my laptop and power adapter and asked for my laptop bag because I wanted to take it elsewhere. She dug around got about 10 minutes and said she could not find the laptop bag and offered me some crappy bag that she had in the back. I asked about my disks I brought in with it and she told me I had dent brought in disks. I pointed to her check in sheet and said that I wrote down that it had disks. She said she had no idea where the disks were.

I haven??t gone back for my disks or laptop bag. I have written this off as a bad shop.

The largest problem is that I was use to going to this shop when they were at 181st and always had good service when the technician worked there.

My recommendation A) Learn better English, B) Hire back either of your old technicians, C) get some better organization skills. D) Get an attitude upgrade

I still haven??t found a good laptop place.

Steer away from this place!

I brought my laptop here because of the low price to diagnose. I asked Best Buy and it would cost $70 to diagnose and he told me they would say it was a problem with the motherboard and I would have to send it to Toshiba for a new motherboard and it would cost $500 and I should just get a new computer. I took it to Max and they fixed the problem with the motherboard for $115. It happened again months later and they fixed it a second time for no charge.

They fixed the motherboard on my computer for $115. At Best Buy it would have cost $70 to diagnose and I would have had to pay $500 for a new motherboard. They said I should just get a new laptop. Max fixed it, but it went out again a few months later and they fixed it a second time for no cost.

My HP notebook went down so I brought it to 2 local store and the Geek Squad at Best Buy. No one had any idea what the problem was but they were all willing to sell me RAM, new hard drives and just about anything else to "help me out" including sending my system back to the factory (where it would take 2-3 weeks)

Someone recommended MAX Computer Station so I took the drive to Halsey and 162 Avenue.

Jenny took one look at the unit, recognized the problem as a defective video chip and told me she would see if she could re-solder the chip back on the motherboard.

I brought in the unit at 10:00 and got a call back at 3:00 telling me the unit was repaired and ready for pickup.

It cost me only $90 and my computer works perfectly.

Don't waste your time anywhere else. This is the place other computer repair stores send laptops to do their contract work. This IS the service source in Portland!

I can't say enough about this place!

I called four other laptop stores - after everything I read online about the blue screen and error message I was getting on my computer, I was convinced that the only thing I could do is try to recover whatever data was left on my computer. Anyways, each of the four places quoted me a minimum of $200 and none guaranteed any type of full recovery.

Well, I chose Max because they only required a $35 minimum to diagnose the problem. As it turns out, they have created hardware to 'fix' the error I was having... and did so in about 15min. The total charge? $35.

They just earned a life-long customer, and one that's not afraid to spread some word-of-mouth advertising!

My first laptop was a Max Station Siletz U from Max Station computers. Apon needing repair, I was given a quote for price and time of repairs. The repairs were made in half the time and I was also discounted for the time quoted (but not needed.)

The service at this business was great. Excellent customer service, efficient and very nice staff.

My only complaint about MS computers is their need to special order almost everything. Anytime I need a new part for my laptop, it needs to be special ordered and tends to be pretty pricey.

PROS: Excellent customer service
CONS: most parts are special order only
