This school has a very good reputation as might be expected from a school that receives many of its kids from the more affluent areas of east santa rosa. While they don't have to work with a lot of disadvantaged kids (which helps there test scores and program right away) I've heard that it probably doesn't live up to it's hype. The school seems very crowded and many students get loss in the masses, especially when trying to schedule their classes or get into honors etc. My cousins both enjoyed attending school there, but from their stories they both had a hard time getting the classes they wanted and there isn't a lot of "community" on campus. One of them did enjoy what seems like a great spanish program and completed 2 years of that language instruction while there. It seems like a good school but I don't think I would be lining up to transfer in from another middle school if I wasn't in their district. Santa Rosa Middle and Slater seem to have comparable campuses and programs although their rep isn't as "prestigious".

My sister attends this school, just as I did many years ago! The school has dramatically changed since I last attended. They've redone the gym, painted the school a vibrant shade of sky blue, and even have a charter school next door. There is a new track (oppose to the non-existing track I had to endure) and brand new lockers. It's refreshing to know that such an old school got revamped in such a small amount of times (five years). A lot of the teachers have stayed, which is awesome because I learned a lot there.
