You can really tell which comments were made by employees. I have a long and terrible story, but won't share because they still have to fix some things. The girls are hot and friendly, the equipment seems nice, however, the other day I waited for an hour an a half. What is the point of an appointment? You have my phone number...call if you are running late. They ran so late, they ended up not having time to even fit me in to their schedule...what the hell? After reading some of these other posts, I'm inclined to think that some of the work I've had done either wasn't necessary, or only became so because of their mistakes.
Do avoid anything more than a "cleaning". Make sure it isn't the "deep cleaning", it's a couple hundred extra.

I would not go there.... Overly priced and takes too long just to see a dentist... One time i went at my scheduled time and waited 30 mintues and then went into the room and waited another 15 mintues... then the dentist came in and said cannot work on me that the dentist that normally works on me was on Vacationa and did not want to touch me... yeah hate them!!

Friendly office staff, beautiful facility & YES very expensive! They are quick to point out the most costly "treatment". Best thing you can do for yourself like anything else, get a second opinion. I paid for an examination out of pocket first before going in here. Other place said I needed 1 crown and 10 fillings. Park Place Dental said 4 crowns and no fillings. Truth is Park Place never mentioned half the teeth the first dentist did. Park Place "picked out" the worst 4, told me to crown them (at $1,000 ea), and didn't bother to include them in my "treatment". I suspect after I invest the $4,000 they will mention the other teeth. Also...brush up on your dental terminology ex. scaling & planing, irrigation, arestin, cerec, onlay, post, captek, zirconia coping, etc

I've been going to Park Place Dental for four years now. I am always greeted by the front office when I come in and they call me by name. It is the most Hi-tech dentist I've ever been to. They have digital xrays, computers in all the rooms, movies you can watch while you wait and crowns that can be done in one visit. The hygienist is very thorough in her explanations and technique. I totally understand now what gum disease is. I hate to go to the dentist but these guys make a hard thing a lot easier.

I've been going here for to years and I've spent over $10,000 under there advice! I got veneers done it was only going to be 4 teeth and then when the product came in I was told they didn't look right. The color, the size just didn't look good! Thank good this new doc was there I would of look ugly! He is very good at what he does and the owner did not like that he took great care of people. DR. * was the greatest dentist I have ever had!!! He told me I should go with something else but this time I needed to do 8 teeth. OK I can see where he was coming from! The new dentist I got was the best I really liked him he did everything to make me happy with the money I was spending. I have had to go back several time to fix and replace them. they say its not painful to do Veneers but guess what they are very painful! I have had to now convert to changing my Veneers to caps now OK not happy with this but the Veneers were not staying so OK. The dentist did not charge me for any additional work or for the cap. I lost another veneer and the doc puts it on temporarily till he got back from Vacation in the mean time another one chip's at the top so I go in and he is no longer there so they tell me I have to pay $1,100.00 for a cap OK this is after the Doc said he would replace them all for caps as they fall, or chip off....FOR FREE! and they would not awn-er what he said. So they temporarily fill the front tooth in till I talked to the owner. I came back a few day's later. She told me she would not awn-er what the doc told me that I had to pay the Lab fee's....I just spent $10,000.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!The owner should awn-er what I was told! You don't do your customers like that!I also payed for the deep cleaning which was crazy expensive and I have Insurance!I was told to bye this mouthwash and the vibrating toothbrush that my Insurance also did not cover....GO figure! This place is all about MONEY They are not there to help you they just want (money)...

This place is aaaaaaaawsome. I got a tooth ache and they were able to see me right away. The receptionist was nice and the dentist was great. They fix my tooth well. I got my crown on the same day as well. There was no pain and I was quickly on my way. The price was even lower than most places I checked. I would definitely come back here again and will recommend to all my family and friends.

This is the most unethical, unbelievable dental office I've ever been to! They seem nice at first, with a nice, contemporary office ""look"" but they are underhanded, sly, unprofessional, lying people in this office. I went in for the first time and somehow my signature was attached to purchase services I did not want. They billed my insurance and I never received the services! Now, that I want/need the services (not with them of course!), my insurance won't cover it b/c they ""think"" I have already received them. I've tried to get this fixed by calling the office manager, sending in a letter, even going into the office but none of my calls are returned, my letter was ignored, and the office manager is allegedly always at a training, at lunch, or is just not there. Park Place Dental Group is a sham! I've read SO MANY reviews on other websitse and this place has done so many people wrong!! They've given poor customer service, told patients they needed work when they really didn't need it, and they have skrewed people (including me!) out of lots of money! DO NOT GO THERE! Save your money and your teeth!

Do NOT go to Park Place Dental. They are scam artists and will trick you into getting procedures that you don't need. You can see other poor reviews of Park Place Dental at several other review sites like Insider Pages or\r

I recently went to this office and was impressed by their professional staff and doctors. I am very usually really nervous about going to the dentist and they were able to make me feel at home in an uncomfortable environment. I was able to get all the work I needed done that day so I didn't have to return to the office which really helped me manage my time. Although I did have to pay my portion for my treatment that day, they offered payment options and made it easy for me.

I recently moved to the Sac area, and went to Park Place (they were picked from my HMO list) for a regular cleaning/checkup. They told me I had early stages of gum disease (1-3 5mm pockets on 4 of my teeth. dentists measure 6 pockets per tooth). They said I'd need: root scale/planing (what they call "deep cleaning") on my teeth. they could NOT do the 'normal' cleaning. They said they'd have to irrigate each tooth with an antibacterial, then place a slow??release antibiotic, called Arestin in my 4 teeth. Having NEVER had dental issues, and always had good dental reports previously, I was worried NOT to have the treatment, but concerned they were going a bit overboard, esp as the dentist clearly was not happy with my asking questions.
Called my old dentist, who stated that 1. their treatment plan of root planing/scaling for 5mm pockets was reasonable, if indeed my gums measured 5mm (I'll be getting a second opinion to see if my gums really are 5mm, will keep you posted). 2. their 'irrigation charges' (for each quadrant, 1 tooth in each quadrant) were 'pricey and not necessary'. 3. my old dentist (great guy wish i still lived in Seattle) said he puts Arestin (3rd treatment recommende dby these guys) on 1-2% of all gingivitis cases, and over a MONTH later, NOT at the same time, as insurance doesn't cover it if you do it on the same day. 4. my old dentist said he charges 150/quadrant, for root planing/scale, these guys were 270/quadrant. he said their pricing was high and their treatment plan was 'very aggressive', given the official diagnosis. He recommended I get a recommended dentist from a friend here instead.

the guys at park place also recommended 35.00 for an antiseptic mouthwash, for me to take home. AND a 130.00 toothbrush.

The insurance allowed only a certain percent of charges (offices charge more than allowable amount, insurance takes it off, by contract, but it looks to the patient like they're getting some good deal). total cost before insurance and deductions for over allowed amt = 1820. after = 635. ONLY thing covered was root plane/scale (which was ONLY thing my old dentist recommended, based on the official diagnosis).

The dentist also wanted to do ceramic inlays for 2 small side fillings. he said they were small, and one (he showed me xrays) didn't go through the enamel.
i asked if ceramic inlays (with a mold, etc, like a minicrown it sounds to me) were maybe too much, perhaps just a resin fillng? he laughed and said he couldn't guarantee those, but he could 'warranty' the ceramic inlay for 5 years.
(i have a +20yr crown now, so why only 5 years?). he said the resin (white composite stuff) was unreliable (why? i've got resin in my teeth, no problems). he couldn't guarantee they'd last even one year. bear in mind he AGREED these were small fillings, one didn't even breakt he enamel, according to this dentist...

I can't say these guys were trying to screw me, but I would strongly urge anyone to get a second opinion before letting these guys do work. for small fillings, resin is completely appropriate. ceramic inlays would work as well, but they require molding, etc. more than one visit (according to this dentist). a root canal would work too, and then again so would an extraction. the worst of the two is 1mm into the enamel, the size of a pin, not near the gum at all...

on the whole, the attitude of the dentist (who scoffed at me when i asked if my teeth were so bad, and replied 'what, you are worried about money?'), the 'aggressiveness' of the treatment plan, AND the fact that the treatment my old dentist said he'd use on a patient with the identical diagnosis WAS covered by insurance (so my cost would be 25/quadrant root planing/scale, as covered by my present insurance co. for 100 dollars total), but MOST of the treatment plan recommended by the dentist at Park Place (incidentally the parts said to be largely unnecessary by my old dentist), were NOT covered by my insurance.

As my insurance is great, I assume if something were 'standard care' and 'necessary for dental health', it'd be covered, at least in part, right?
this leaves me with the disturbing feeling that these guys DID in fact recommend a bunch of stuff that wasn't necessary, overcharge the allowables for noncovered items, writing the misleading total before insurance at 1820, after is 635. so the average patient is told, as i was, you need these things or your teeth/gums won't get better, and the average patient thinks, wow, i'm only paying 1/3 of the cost.

i'll be getting a second opinion, as i don't trust someone who is recommending something that my trusted old dentist states is far outside normal standard of care.
will post again with results of 2nd opinion.

For the second post person in regards to Dr. NGO. Don't worry, the pain will go away. This office messed me over too by causing me to have root canals because of botched drilling. Do not pull the teeth because they can be saved. One of my teeth had to be retreated, but the pain did go away after a year. Try calling Dr. Moo Moo Min who is in Vacaville. No joke! That is her name. She fixed my messed up teeth, and she gave my enough pain medication to get me through the rough nights. Most dentists, as we all know, do not give out enough pain meds.Good luck to you, and sorry to hear about your pain. I have been putting up posts for the past 18 months to warn patients about this place, but they get them deleted.

If you want to spend $2000+ on a couple fillings and $500 on a cleaning... then Park Place Dental Group is the place for you! But no worries, if you didn't have insurance it would cost you $6,000+. So aren't you glad you're getting SUCH a great deal?? So what would it cost me to just yank out all my teeth and get a pair of fakes? EH?

This office is the best! They got me in and out and I was so happy with the way that they treated me. Dr Hughes was my dentist but now he is over at Market West Dental Group on Arena blvd. I highly recommend these folks to anyone who wants to have the latest dentistry has to offer with very kind friendly people.

Way back in 2006, Park Place Dental group ruined my Molars. These were teeth 14 and 15. The greedy liars told me that I had cavities when in fact, I did not. The butcher dentist drilled too close to the nerves. I had to have root canals done on both teeth to get out of the pain. They got away with it because I complained to Blue Cross who covered it up. If they mess you over, get an attorney! They are money hungry creeps who do not care if you get ill from their greed. Stay away!!!

I went to this market (dentist) last year to get a check up and ????.big mistake.
The first thing they say was deep cleaning is need it even after checking and finding out that there was not cavity or any dental work to get done.
They told me in a very pushy way to get the deep cleaning that they charge by quarts.............. upper left, lower right etc. on top of that they say you need to get this product for the good of you mouth bla, bla, bla, and as you can guest that??s no cover by the insurance and those things ads up pretty fast.
Just the cleaning cost about $125 times 4 plus the ointment 45 times 6 for a total of $800??ish, just for the cleaning..... Insanity.
Also the service is terrible they make me wait for hours up to the point where I have go and find someone to tell me that the dentist is with a patient and I got wait, even more.
Then they offer you to get the zoom (whitening treatment), $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and they recommend I got say on a very pushy way to get a crown but only the one they sale is the good one.
They make you fell like you are dealing with salesman and not with a professional dentist.
Trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Choose a different dentist or you will loose a lot of your money and your time and most likely you will loose your smile.

Park Place Dental are scam artists. They will sell you every costly procedure they can get away with. My girlfriend was told she needed 3 crowns done, which even with insurance was going to cost $2,000 out of pocket. They also told her she needed braces. She is a poor college student, so she told them she wanted to think about it before agreeing to anything that expensive. They gave her heavy sales pressure to sign on the dotted line before leaving the office, and acted like her teeth would fall out if she didn't. She refused to decide right then and went to her former dentist for a second opinion. Turns out she didn't need any work done at all.

When I went there for a routine cleaning, I was told I had a minor gum infection and needed a special deep cleaning, which cost an extra $150. I'm not sure I even needed that, as I have never had a cavity or any gum problems my entire life. They also insist on xrays every 6 months (you won't get a checkup or cleaning without them), when most insurance plans only cover xrays once a year (and most dentists only require them once a year). Park Place has a brand new, high tech facility, and the patients are paying for it!

If I wasn't there in person I would say its almost as bad as a telemarketer (very pushy)but in this case it was like going to a car lot! I had a HMO dental plan and decided this office was close to home so I went ahead with this office. I had an appointment knowing I would have to get some work done well on my first visit I was t here from 11:30AM to 4:30PM. Just like the person below with the title "Horrible Experience...Wont go back" said I had the same experience also, leave you in the room with the impression in your mouth. When they were working on me I had water go in my nose and running down the sides of my face in my eye. The dentist was very short and I felt like I was in a clinic.

This office likes to say your only option for a crown is the "lava" crown which that is not true that is just the MOST EXPENSIVE CROWN. I have talked to a friend that is in the dental field and he was telling me how bad this office was and I also talked to a previous employee that actually works for my new dental office on how they are always selling the "lava" crowns to the patients. Most insurance companies will cover only a small portion of the "lava" crowns. I was in horrible pain after I left their office! As far prepping me for the root canal I should have been prescribed antibiotics and they did not, my new dentist was shocked about that one. He actually even stated they they had drilled too much on my tooth which made it so I have to get a root canal done for sure.

I know that I have read other reviews that have also stated some of the same things I have. I would not recommend going to this office. They are very pushy and are not informative enough, you should leave the office knowing exactly whats going on in your mouth, what the insurance will cover, and how much you will have to pay out of pocket. They are very pushy with financing the money because the work need to be done now! I guess if thats the case then I would of been prescribed antibotics so the infection I had wouldn't get worse. I am sure some of these reviews are probably even being left from the dental office so they can have some positive feed back on here so it doesn't show that its all negative and maybe a couple are actually real patients that had a good encounter at this office. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I actually told everyone at my job not to choose them if they have the HMO and I have now changed my plan to the PPO. I stoped all my treatment before I had to pay them 2000.00 out of pocket, so sometimes it pays to read the reviews first!

I chose this dentist randomly from a list of dentists that were covered by my insurance...What a mistake! I was told that I had cavities and would need them fixed, and that I had the option of choosing how I would like them to fill them. Well when the insurance papers came, they had chosen for me (the most expensive option..surprise) and the insurance woman practically called me stupid "you're not going to understand how the billing works" when I asked why it was so expensive and my insurance was covering so little. The dentist didn't explain anything to me, and had the dentist assistant do all the work...The dentist did however, apply the Novocain, however he failed to apply enough resulting in a very painful experience. They inserted a mold in my mouth and then left me with it in the room alone for 16 minutes, I was unable to swallow and had to wait while saliva went all over my face. The assistant then came in to fit me with a temporary crown (which I was told would have to be done by the oral surgeon, however she never came back after fitting me with the mold). On my way out I stopped to pick up some papers that the insurance lady said she would have for me and had to wait while she had a personal phone conversation with a friend (I was sitting right next to her during this 5 minutes) I walked out without the papers. I was told that I would need to be in within a few days, however the next appointment they could give me was over 2 months from that day. This was a horrible experience and I ended up going to another dentist to have my temparary crown redone, and then later the permanent crown done. I will never go back to Park Place, it was the worst dental experince of my life.

my chief concern was to have a beautiful smile. I never had nice teeth . The doctors at the office did a smile consultation and gum hygiene instruction with me and discussed all my options available... i was really impressed , that they took the time to listen to me and addressed what has bothered me for so many years .... my crooked teeth.
After a few very comfortable visits .. my teeth and gums felt so healthy and i got the ultimate smile i had always dreamed about!!!!
Everyone i meet loves my smile and its all because the team at Park place dental group took time to help me . I love you guys !!!!

I had a toothache and nobody would take me in on a Friday afternoon. Not only did they take me in, they took care of my pain and the office staff and doctors where so nice and friendly.
The fees where not high considering I was spending the costs on my healthcare! I love this office and would highly recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you so much!!

I recently got a crown from them, it's been a year, because they never followed up on a root canal referal, and the dentist actually asked me why I thought I needed a root canal. I'm not stupid, that's why. In the mean time, they lost the original crown, I had to go in for another appt, for crown prep, very painful, then I was numbed. My whole face was numb for 9 hours! Then when I came back for the final crown, it didn't fit, so after 3 hours of them trying to get it to fit, and a TON of xrays, they had to do ANOTHER crown fitting on me, also very painful. I finally got a crown that fit, and it only took them a year and a half to take care of it. The dentists here seem like they are under a lot of pressure to up-sell everyone, regardless of insurance or what they can afford. Nobody seems happy to be there, and the dentists don't seem to like their patients at all. Most of my work was done by a hygenist, and the crown is by no means perfectly fit.
After reading the other posts here, I'm going to have my new dentist look it over.
They opened a 2nd office, Market West, but someone mentioned a 3rd.... I would like to know which one it is so that I can avoid it.

BEWARE MONEY HUNGRY AND DON?T CARE ABOUT YOU!
This place is terrible! I went there because it was close to my home for an achy tooth. The dentist I was able to see four weeks later told me the problem was old fillings and made time to take them out that night for a small charge of $850.00 out of pocket + insurance coverage (probably so I couldn??t change my mind or get a second opinion).
My problem persisted and when I went back for the permanent fillings I explained that I still had a problem, then they suggest I set an appointment with the dental hygienist. Another 4+ weeks go by before I am able to see her and she tells me I need a "deep cleaning" and it will be $1200.00 out of my pocket (this is above and beyond my insurance!) but they are happy to finance me!
So now I have waited so long and wasted so much money that the gingivitis I have know (found by a different dentist) will have to wait for new funds.

This is the best place I ever went. As soon as you walk into the door, they got this big nice waiting room. They even got a corner for kids to play games too. The receptionist was really friendly. I did not have to wait long. I saw Dr. Hoang who was very smart and friendly. I was initially nervous because I thought that there would be lots of pain. She calm me down and told me what needed to be done and all the options available. She worked on my teeth and there was no pain at all. The whole thing didn't even take long. Their price was better than few other places I've been. I now have a beautiful smile and my teeth no longer hurt. Thank you Dr. Hoang and staff. I would definitely come back.

Customer service is important to our office and we strive to ensure our patients are happy with all aspects of treatment. Accordingly, we were extremely disappointed to read the less than accurate information posted here by alleged patients.

Although our office would like to respond point-by-point to the specific issues raised, unfortunately, Federal law prohibits us from doing so. If the patients at issue would sign appropriate releases, we would be happy to respond in detail to each posting. Otherwise, it is impossible for us to address anonymous grievances.

In any event, certain issues can be addressed without disclosing any specific information about any particular patient given that the complaints are based upon common misconceptions regarding dental treatment.

Many patients come to our office requesting a ?cleaning?. Most patients do not know that there are many different types of cleanings which are done depending on the condition of the patient?s teeth and gums. What most patients consider to be a ?regular? cleaning is referred to as a prophylaxis and light scale which consists of polishing and scaling of the teeth above the gum line. Scaling is performed by the dentist; an assistant provides the polishing. If a patient has periodontal disease, such a cleaning cannot be done. As part of a patient?s exam, the patient?s dental health is assessed. If the exam reveals that providing a prophylaxis and light scale would fall below the standard of care, it cannot be provided. In such cases different types of cleaning and/or treatment are prescribed and explained in detail to the patient.

As with cleanings, other dental services often involve multiple options. There are numerous types of fillings, crowns, etc. available to patients. Our office is required to present to all patients a detailed explanation of the options available to them in order to enable patients to make fully educated decisions regarding treatment. Such explanations include not only descriptions of the options available but also the costs associated with each option so that the patient can keep budgetary issues in mind. We also provide details regarding any available specials and financing options so as to present the patient with all available information. Ultimately, the treatment choices are up to the patient, who can select precisely the options he/she would like. We believe that information is key and that we should not be faulted for essentially providing too much information as one patient has done. If a patient does not wish to undertake a given treatment, that is entirely his or her choice.

Full mouth x-rays are generally recommended every 3-5 years. However, when a new patient does not provide x-rays from his or her prior dental office, full mouth x-rays are taken during the first visit in order the enable the dentist to fully evaluate the patient?s oral condition.

Certain of the issues raised cannot be addressed as the office does not understand why a patient would be unhappy with an exam that revealed no cavities. It is likewise unclear why it would be held against our office that a member of our staff complimented a patient on his or her dental health.

In short, we believe that all of the posted complaints are baseless. We encourage the patients at issue to contact the office in order to resolve their specific matters.

First of all, they tell you that you have all these problems with your teeth that need to be taken care of right away. (Oh yah they are friendly til you start to learn the high price of any dental work.)
Second, they might be able to convince you to open a care credit account, so you can do all the necessary AND unnecessary dental work on your credit line. Errors happen very often, over charged, duplicate transactions...etc. Park Place Dental Group has a very COMPLICATED management system, so it will take over 1 month (in my case, 4 months) to get the error straight with carecredit credit card.
Third, if you dont want to have any dental work done besides what your insurance covers. YOU BETTER NOT GO BACK THERE. It's very awkward after they've been trying to persuade you to do all these dental work. AND a person cannot afford that... is that HARD TO UNDERSTAND?
Fourth, I had a crown delivery, it took them over 1 month to put the permanent one on, Because that's how long the lab takes to make the molding (*&^&!@#$%^&)... and Trust me, it was too late for me to realize this is a totally bad business practice, I would have to pay for the lab fee of $250-300 dollars (no more dental work will be done for me , of course) if I refused to use their services. and why the heck they made the dental "assistant" to put the temporary crown in my mouth, i was numbed at the time, so i wouldn't know if the person did a good job. It took about 3 1/2 hours after I left the dental office, I could finally have my facial sensation back. I was in so much pain because the temp. crown didn't really fit my mouth.... sure i went back and had a re-adjustment. The dentist I had, she was very busy, she was only able to see me 15 minutes here and come back to see me after the assistant does some more work in my mouth. But AT THIS POINT, IT SCARES ME TO WALK INTO THAT DENTAL GROUP OFFICE.
I understand this is a nice, upper scale, clean facility, staffs are friendly, but they seem to have problems following up patients' requests. I dont think staffs are happy though, considering their main business practice is to SELL. THEY ask everyone if they would like to have a teeth whitening..... !@#$%^& And i wonder how many angry calls the staffs have to answer on daily basis..
They could "suggest" you instead of lobbying and not make you feel obligated if you turn down their suggestion.
NICE JOB, park place dental group, are you making enough money for you to open the 3rd dental group office?

I wish I knew that this was the bad dentist (who charged them so excessively that the insurance can't cover all the cleaning only expenses) that my coworker went to before I made the appointment. Unfortunately I didn't know and I had such a bad experience with them. I was just trying to get my teeth cleaned when I made the appointment. Well, first, the x-ray technician was very impatience when taking my x-rays. She even blamed me on taking too long for the x-rays to get done. Then, I had Dr. Kim to examine my teeth. I told him that all I wanted that day was for cleaning, which he originally agreed. However, after looking at my teeth, he decided to just have someone else polish my teeth. When I listened closely to the helper and Dr. Kim's conversation, he mentioned that I can be dismissed after polishing. So I agree that they tried not to give you a regular cleaning on your first visit. But I insisted that my teeth aren't cleaned yet after the polishing was done. So, Dr. Kim came back and finished off removing the plaque and stuffs in my teeth. When I asked why he didn't do so before polishing, he said that this is the right procedure (which to my knowledge, I always had polishing last in my cleanings with all the other dental places). One more note too, when the dentist mentioned to the helpers that my teeth look fine and I don't have to come back, they were actually shocked. The x-ray tech even came to me and say that I should be really happy that I don't have to come back for cavities. I find the comment rather odd because it sounded like it's a common practice that they do schedule patients to come back for stuffs very regularly. Anyway, I was also quite skeptical about the qualification of the person who polished my teeth. Since my sister-in-law is in the hygienist program, I kind of know how professional they are when they do their jobs. However, this person did not act like a professional at all and he even spilled water over my neck while polishing my teeth. So, it was the worst dentist visit I've ever had and I would never ever go back to this place.

PROS: n/a
CONS: everything went bad..........

.

I went to a dentist other than this one and was told I needed a cavity filled. Our insurance would not pay for that dentist to fill it so they told us to go to this place. Unlike the other reviewer, we were not getting anything other than what I told them what to do (they had my dental chart to reference what the other dentist said also). About an hour from entering the office I was on my way with 1 new filling. They never tried to do anything other than what they were initially going to do (the filling).
