I've seen Joni Ghormley several times and have always thought that I got her full attention. When I was there for my big bump on my back she spent a long time with me making sure I didnt have to come back. I found her very friendly and informative. Since then I have been back to see her several other times.
My regular Doctor is Dr James Park who is a no-nonsense say it as it is kind of guy. He seems a lot sharper than the specialists that he has sent me to for my back. He is also a great role model for my son Riley.

To start off on a good note, the staff at Newcastle Primary Care is friendly and upbeat, great at making small talk and relaxing the patient.

Unfortunately, that's where the good points come to and end. My husband and I both had appointments this past week and here's a basic summary: Neither one of us was seen for everything we went in for. Because of the reservationists mistakes, my husband's doctor didn't know the real reason for his appointment until he was in the exam room and then wasn't even certain they had the time to do it. He wound up being seen only for a general exam and had to make a follow-up appointment for a couple of other issues he'd already outlined to the nurse that needed to be addressed.
When I went in for mine, they actually knew I was there for a basic exam, but did not inform the provider that I was also there for another issue. Ghormley, ARNP, rushed through the exam and left so quickly I didn't even know the exam was over until I tracked down a nurse to find out. Furthermore, I never got to address my other issue with her, despite having outlined it to her assistant. Nobody bothered to tell me until she was already in with another patient that it's an issue she refuses to deal with and I was to make an appointment somewhere else.
My husband scheduled follow-ups for the both of us, having been to Ghormley before and noting that she has dealt with both of our alternate health concerns in the past. After 5 p.m. the day before our scheduled appointments, I wound up with a call from her nurse tellling me not to take time off work, they are canceling my appointment because she refuses to address my particular concern.
I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anybody. The whole experience was frustrating and degrading. The staff is some of the most unprofessional, incompetent excuses for medical and administrative professionals that I've had the misfortune of dealing with.
