If you are in the area visiting, you must stop in here! There are many unique shops and restaurants, all open 7days a week. There is a candy store there that has barrels of candy, it would make a child drool upon entry! Arrange to hop aboard the Tarantula steam engine train! Don't forget to watch for the twice daily cattle drives!

PROS: Something for everyone!
CONS:

My out of town guests had a blast at the Trading Post. It was "typical Texan" to me, but they found tequila suckers, cowboy hats, postcards, and other Texas-type items to take back to the Northeast with them. This place is right in the middle of the Stockyards, so it's busy on the weekends. But that's also when the parking is free!

Stockyard Station Trading Post is a must see for all visitors to Fort Worth. It is located in the Stockyard Station where the Tarantula Train comes in twice a day. It is a shop that carries cowboy hats, souveniers and all things Texas. You can find some really unique items (tequilla lollipops and lollipops with scorpions in them). I have shopped there for gifts to send to my out of town friends. They have a large selection of Texas items, shotglasses, cards, postcards, etc.

This is in a great area where you can stroll and shop all the other stores. You can make a day out of it and eat at Risky's or many of the other restaurants in the area. If you are there at the right time, you can see a cattle drive go right in front of the station!

The parking is good if you park in the lot and walk over. Free parking on weekends on the end lots.

PROS: Great fun for all ages to shop
CONS: crowded when the train comes in

this is an ok touristy place. i wandered in one night after eating in the stockyards, otherwise i would never have stopped by. it has all the essential stereotypical texan stuff, so tourists would get a kick out of it i suppose. locals dont really wear or buy alot of it, but if your in the area it might be worth it to step in one evening for a minute just to look.
