Pho Dung occupies prime real estate in the HK Mall IV, very close to the food court, in the hallway between the food court and Hong Kong grocery market. Which means they get a ton of foot traffic and the walk-ins that go along with it. But there's a reason that people flock to the Pho Danh on the opposite end of the mall in favor of Pho Dung: when comparing the two, Pho Dung falls short on cleanliness, service, and food. You will still see generally see people there, and it's a good option if you're craving pho and the line outside Pho Danh is too long. When I walk in, the light is somehow not as bright, the floors and tables feel a bit greasy, and even the food. The only thing I order when I go here is the "Com Ba Mien", which is their house special rice dish with shrimp, bbq pork, shrimp paste, and tomato fried rice. It's always a bit greasy but it's a hearty meal when I'm hungry. But at ~$9.50 (inclusive of tax), this dish is easily $2-3 more expensive than similar offerings at "Com Tam Kieu Giang" down the hall. So if you're looking for an easy place to meet where there will generally be enough seating without a wait, this is the place. But if you are looking for a better bargain or product and don't mind waiting, walk to the opposite end of the mall from the food court for the better food.

Pros: Easy to find, prime location near food court in HK Mall IV

Cons: Restaurant feels greasy, food/service just ok

I've had pho in many places around Houston, and this place is my top choice. The broth is delicious and the noodles are always soft and chewy, not brittle. I usually get the steak pho (with meat on the outside).

Pros: location, price

Cons: language barrier?

The food, primarily the pho, is alright. Sometimes I wonder if they're really cooking it or using stuff from a can. It doesn't taste all too authentic, and I can't find a reason to eat here as opposed to other places that are within walking distance or a 1 mile radius. The place is very bright and presentable but that's about it. The advantage is that it's right next to the Hong Kong supermarket so it's good for a quick bite to eat.
