I never like to review anyone with a bad review. These people are just Not Nice at all. The sushi is Not fresh, smells, the place is dirty, owner is soooo rude. They have tipping signs up all over and signs that say you cant send the food

Great place to go if your on the beach or would like to spend an evening on Hollywood beach. Great prices and good sushi. They have outdoor seating facing the ocean. Very nice.

I visited Sushi Thai for Father's Day on a friends recommendation. We all ordered Japanese - mostly sushi, some cooked appetizers and grilled fish. We ordered about 6 different rolls and all of them, with the exception of the salmon skin roll were below average. The salmon skin was excellent, the skin was crispy which is key to that roll. All the others were drowned in sauce and was packed with too much rice. The sushi was horrible. two words - NOT FRESH. The UNI looked like rubber and when we confronted the waitress about it she said, a lot of people don't have a problem eating this. We've eaten at plenty of sushi restaurants in better places in NY, LA and San Francisco which is a lot better than any place we've eaten in Miami and she was insulting our taste. I wasn't going to argue but I also wasn't going to pay for that OLD piece of sushi. Another waitress later came by and said, we'll take it off the bill but it the waitress has to pay for it. Very unprofessional. All other pieces of sashimi were not fresh as well - not the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, scallop- nothing. The scallop was hard and dry! I couldn't believe they would serve such terrible quality sushi! Even the cooked hamachi kama was terrible. It tasted old and freezer burned. Anyone who eats hamachi kama knows it has to be fresh (caught that day). I hated that we spent $250 for a meal no one in our party liked. It was the WORST japanese food I've ever had. I would have been happier with a bowl of ramen noodles. It is terrible and anyone who eats there is either a tourist or has really bad taste. I can't speak for the thai food. I wish one of us ordered it as it seemed like everyone around us ordered thai. maybe that's better - but no thanks, I am not going back. TWO last words: NOT FRESH!!

This is one of my favorite restaurant in the vicinity. I like the way change their special so often and the food are exceptional. I always go there every now and then and try many new food I couldn't pronounce the name. Forthright speaking, the cleanliness is of this restaurant is above the standard. they try to clean the bathroom every time that any customer dirty it. Last but not least, Adding the tip to the bill has never be the problem for me because I found it even more convenient for that I don't have to do the math.

The managers and servers are mostly Thai, their very pleasant people from my experience. They weren't born here and yes, miscommunication can happen due to language and customs hurdles as they become more accustomed to the US. I usually eat Sushi and to me it's pretty good, it's definetly presented well. Good beer and sake selection. My friend did say he didn't think the fish was as good as some other places he's been and maybe it's their supplier. The Thai tastes as good as any other Thai as far as I remember. And yes they try to keep non customers from coming off the beach and dirtying up the bathrooms for their paying customers, and I noticed they started including a 18% gratuity on the bill and if you've never been in the service industry, which I have , then you might not know how many tourists from alot of countries don't know how to tip or to tip at all. All in all I find a good relaxing place when it's not too crowded.

I have been a loyal customer since they opened. The service is mediocre but is forgiven by the smiling faces of the severs and a great view. Lately the quality of the food has declined seriously! The Thai food is still mediocre however the Japanese and sushi had been consistantly bad to the point that the view just isn't making up for it any longer. After sending back back a dish recently the chef started screaming at our party in the middle of the dining floor, that we were trying to get food for free and other absurdities. Although I have had many sub par dishes there I have never once prior asked for anything to be taken off the bill. I assured him we would leave and never come back if he would just remove the item off our bill so I could pay and tip the waitress. Only after I insisted that he call the police because I was not going to argue a $4.50 item with him did he finally remove the item. This was surreal and definitly a scene out of Saturday Night Live. Obviously the cost of the item was not the point. However, I'm sure i was not the first peson with a problem as they have a sign on the wall stating "food only taken off bill if our mistake!" Also, be careful, Sushi on the Beach slides on an 18% gratuity unannounced and apparently at their discrecion. I have never tipped less than 20% on my own but don't appreciate being tricked into an almost 40% tip.We went to Sushi Blues where i have never had a bad meal in 15 years!
