We love going up to Northstar. It is not so big that you feel completely lost yet there is fun and activities for everyone. We usually rent a condo that we can ski out of onto the slopes. The kids love the snowboard parks. The slopes range in difficulties although I have heard some really expert skiiers tell me that it is not as challenging for them as other places. For us though it is great.

We always try to stay in the Village so it is easy to walk out the door and onto the slope. The lessons at mid mountain are also great for kids and the mini camp is unbelievable--where else can you put your toddler in day care and ski with a beeper?

This resort has a great selection of runs for the intermediate/advanced skiier/snowboarder. There are mid mountain chair lifts that aren't too crowded and the high speed lifts that take you to the backside of the mountain which is all black diamond. The backside is icy a lot of the time, but when it's not, it's great skiing/snowboarding.
