Do not patronize this business!! My family had patronized Stereo Town in the past (stereo installs) with fair results, so I brought my car here for the alarm to be checked, as my key fobs were not functioning properly. The shop owner

I have a dollar amount for just some of the damages.
Before I tell you what that number is, you must know that I tried to work with management to get it fixed. I asked the manager to please examine the buzz coming from the speaker in the left side door panel. His solution was to tell me to turn the stereo down. He actually stood between me and the front door of the business and refused to talk with me or negotiate with me further.
It was as if he got my money. Now, I can just go away. He was done with me and there was nothing I had that he wanted . The end.
I just got the bill from the dealership. The paint under the door panel was scratched down to the primer and there were several missing retainers.
I paid $175 to have the retainers replaced. That annoying buzz in the left door panel has gone away.

Update: The driver side door needed repair to replace the retaining clips. Another $175. So, $330. for the stereo, $350. for the repairs.

well i would like to respond to the person that tried to have a back up camera installed in his or her car
well we are a group of car dealers in fremont that we carry a lot of gmc trucks and german cars that we alway take it to stereo town to get a back up camera integrate to the factory units and we never had a problems so i dont know what happen to you car but as we knows the manger are very nice guy that always like to take care of problems fast and even if they did a problem they will always fix it.
well i went to mention very important note that there is no one perfect as we are a dealers sometime we do mistakes but if costumers are not patient ,that will cause a problems . So again stereo town good people they perform good service and they always take responsibility for any problem they will have

I went to this place JUST to have installed a backup camera for my truck, so the guys tell me that I needed a module, bought it from them the same day, they got the wrong model 2 times and wasted my time 3 days. So this guys open up my factory GPS unit to install the so call module and ended up messing my screen, it goes blank or acts up all the time.

The "MANAGER" is the worst I have ever encounter in this type of business, they gave me a partial refund, no backup camera and a messed up GPS unit. Get more feedback from this place, pay a little more somewhere else, this guys don't take responsibility for any issues that might come up.

When you're there ask the worker in the shop if he know anything about car, and he will not know. Took my bro's car to go get his alarm installed, we payed an extra 50 bucks to get it done nicely and on time, and guess what happen, while working on the car, the guys were going from place to place and doing something else. After they were done with the car, the car started having trouble, the engine wont start anymore and they're blaming it on my brother, that's how they handle their customer. from a rating of 5 i give them a zero.

My brother took my car there to have the viper alarm installed, they kept giving him the run around. They told him that my car would be ready at 3:30 but when he arrived they hadn't even begun to work on my car. They told me brother to come back at 7:00, just as my brother was arriving, he and my brother in law noticed that one of the employees had locked my keys in the car and instead of calling a locksmith or towing company (someone who could actually open my car) the idiot working on my car decided to take a wire to my car (my opinion - I really believe that this idiot hoped to open the car before my brother arrived but he was S.O.L!) - in his attempt to open my car he scratched my paint job, damaged my weather stripper and interior and another part to the door! I honestly believe that if my brother wouldn't have caught them in action and if the moron would have succeeded to open my door using his wire (the IDIOT!) would have probably not said anything and if we would have mentioned that damage he would have probably tried to say that the damage was already there! Anyhow after the damage was already made to my car a locksmith was finally contacted - who actually had the common sense to use the proper tools to open my door. Now they are giving me the run around (supposedly trying to accomodate me for the damage) and there excuse and I quote "Accidents do happen" - This place is the worse place to go to, they are very rude, unprofessional and even under NEW Management they have BAD service!!!!
