Forget the Dolphin show and visit Bill Braggs Park instead. Great views and great value. Spend a wonderful day outdoors at the park!

I recommended the sea trek to all of my colleagues at work. The trainers were phenomenal and they went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time.

Very cool Killer Whale Show! I also did the Dolphin Odyssey and it was really an out of this world to experience. I have been to Miami Seaquarium more than once to bring friends and family.

I had the best time at the park :) We got some great savings and they had a special show going on for Xmas with the what, she even had a hat. The kids loved it and can't stop talking about all the fun they had. We really want to do the swimming with the dolphins and they now have this tank swim thing and a rope walking course, FUN! Can't wait to go back. Also, they rehabilitate manatees there, how awesome!

I went to the park and they had amazing savings, a give 4 and get 40% off. They are having something else soon. If you are not a Miami resident, look first for savings, there are lots. If you are a Miami resident, get the year pass. I had a blast with my friend and I want to go back soon. Good shows!

The park is not huge, its not Disney. So go open minded and not with the idea that you are going to step into sea world. This is not sea world and if you are looking for something like that just go up to Orlando. This park is really cute, they have been around for a long time and the park is well kept. They have displays of different fish live. You can see the dolphins swimming around and its pretty cool to see them swimming when a show is going on. The shows are the main attraction/thing here! So make sure you call ahead to get the full schedule so you don't miss anything. They have a good variety of food... I like that it's a nice relaxing park and I'm not there for 10 hours, four hours is pretty much the most you will be here, which is perfect for anyone who wants to explore the city more. Overall, I really liked this cute place.

Truthfully, this is an older aquarium and not a roller coaster type of attraction. It is old school in its appearance and that is what I like (character). They do great things; such as helping manatees who have been hurt (boating accidents, which is a pretty big thing down here in FL) and having family friendly events (egg hunt anyone?). \nIt's nice and peaceful to walk around with the kids and learn about the sea life around us.

It is suppose to be one of the first aquariums built. Yes, it is small, but when built, there were not regulations on sizes so did the best they could. \nI loved the manatees and the rehabilitation of them. \n\n

This place desperately needs renovations. It looks as though the last real update was in the 80s. I was very sad to learn that their main attraction Lolita the killer whale has been in the same dilapidated tank for 40 years.\n\nIf you have a conscience you will turn your car around and visit one of the many beautiful parks in here in South Florida. Please, open your eyes and not your wallets.\n\nThis place masks itself as an educational facility, but in the end exploits its animals for entertainment. There is nothing educational in dolphins and killer whales splashing the crowd, bobbing their heads to music, and carrying trainers on their backs.\n\nThe only reason why the animals perform tricks is because they're hungry. If you own a dog you will know what this means. Animals don't perform tricks on command if their stomachs are full and they're happy.\n\nIf you want to see dolphins take your kids to the Keys, Ft Myers, Naples ... Every single time I've visited I saw wild dolphins and it was completely free and completely amazing.\n\nThank you for reading.

My family and I recently moved down to Miami a couple of months ago and we have been searching and searching for fun and educational things to do as a family. I saw some great and some not so great reviews on Miami Seaquarium, but I decided to give it a try because a friend told me that he takes his family there all the time and they have a great time. I am so happy that I listened to my friend and not some of the negative reviews that I have read. My family had a blast watching the live shows that they give with the whale and dolphins and other fun sea animals. We are very happy to have gotten the opportunity to head to the park and decided to get the year pass. The kids enjoyed the food and its a great value, especially with all the savings.

My mom, brother and I recently took a trip to the Miami Seaquarium and we had a very good time. We went to many of the shows and were very impressed on how fun and entertaining they were. All of the exhibits were done well and we will be going to the park again.

If you live in Miami or around the area you should buy the year pass too, its a steal!

My family and I visited the park for mothers day, my mother loved it.\nWe saw Lolita's show and we were sure to sit far away, we didn't want to get wet!\nThe trainers seemed to know what they were doing and they kept everyone entertained.\nThe park is no seaworld, but I wouldn't expect any park to be as big as a Disney park. It was a great size for a Miami park and we had fun, were entertained, and learned some new info on marine animals :)

Pros: Shows, animals, location, and people

Cons: Nothing

The facilities are run-down and scabby. They treat the creatures there like they are in the aquarium-version of Guantanamo Bay Prison. No sane person can un-see the filth and neglect that charterizes this hole. I was relieved to leave without illness or injury aside from protracted disgust.

My husband and I attended a convention in Key Biscayne. We won tickets to the Sequarium as a gag gift. We went with a group of adults, who were immediately appalled with it's dilapidated condition. There was mold on the windows, leakage everywhere, loose electrical cords, compromised stabilizers, and the stench of poorly cared for animals throughout our short visit. We were most concerned for the children who attended, and wondered what would become of them if a faulty stabilizer failed. It was deplorable and got worse when we viewed a whale, lovely creature, held stagnant in fish tank not as large as our hotel's pool. At first, I thought it was some kind of awful joke, but found out later that this lovely creature has been held there for approximately forty years. When I voiced my concern, the aquarium's employees became defensive and rude. This truly turned out to be a GAG gift, and I have hoped, ever since our visit, that this awful roadside zoo, will close down for the sake of it's patrons and those poor animals. Oh my, it is awful. How do they get away with that?

I've been to SeaWorld and the high tech killer whale shows are nice but Lolita's Killer Whale show at the Miami Seaquarium is awesome in terms of trainer's skills with Lolita, the willingness to share educational information and pose for pictures with guests. In fact, this is the best killer whale show I've seen since the smaller size of the staduim gives visitors a feeling of being involved combined with the trainers performance skills with Lolita. Waiting for the show to begin, I noticed Lolita getting ready to perform watching the visitors fill the stadium, she is watching us! Lolita clearly enjoys performing shows for visitors.\r\nThe Flipper dolphin show was awesome as well and appreciated the stage set that included the original house in the ""Flipper"" TV show. The Flipper dolphins are highly skilled performers and the visiting children (as well as adults) enjoyed the dolphins sailing the oversized beach balls into the crowd involving the visitors in the show.\r\nAll the shows are awesome but my favorites were Lolita and Flipper. The smaller park size is just right and can see all the shows and attractions before you get tired and want go home. The park is very enjoyable and highly recommend visiting the Miami Seaquarium.

Many people think that visiting a place like this is ok. They really dont see what wrong with going to see the happy dolphins and whales and sea lions do tricks for food, right? ""There's nothing wrong with that"" they think... But in reality there is something extremely wrong with it. These places (ex: Miami Seaquarium) exploit the sea's smartest creatures, forcing them to perform unnatural ""tricks"" for food, just so a corporation can make money. They tell you that its an educational experience, but if they really taught you anything about this beautiful animals you would quickly learn how critically important it is for them to be in their natural habitats with their families. Whales and dolphins are some of the most social creatures on this earth, second only to humans. Did you know that Lolita's entire family pod is still in the waters off puget sound (where she was caught). Did you know that whales and dolphins mainly use echolocation (a form of sonar) as their primary sense, and that being in a concrete box will drive them crazy. Did you know that orcas swim close to 100 miles a day and dolphins over 40 miles a day. How many miles do you think the dolphins in the Seaquarium get in on a daily basis? Keeping whales and dolphins in a tank all their lives is not the same as keeping a lion or tiger in the zoo. The best comparison I can give for the living conditions of these animals is: Imagine you are sent to jail for no reason, put in a small cell (if your lucky your sharing it), when you first get there they teach you to do tricks for food, and live the rest of your life there... never to see your loved ones again. Exploiting these animals for our entertainment is not the way to experience the wonders of the ocean. If you wanna see dolphins and whales there are boat tours that take you out in the ocean to see them in their natural habitat. Please, I beg you people not to support these establishments... it teaches our children that its ok to take creatures away from their family and friends and jail them for profit.

Miami Seaquarium is about $40 pp plus $10 for parking to get into. Once in it only takes about two hours to see everything in the park. The tanks are small and dirty, it made me feel bad for the animals especially the killer whale, her tank was the smallest I've ever seen. Don't go here expecting Sea World because you're not going to find it. The animal shows are boring sometimes going minutes without the trainers or animals doing anything. My kids were bored and I was disgusted. We all felt horrible as we were leaving. Don't waste your money.

im very disappointed from my visit at the miami seaquarium. first of all it was too expensive but u think when u see lots of animals and even dolphins and an orca u gotta pay that amount. but after we entered it was all dirty and the trash cans were full and all the garbage was laying on the ground. but thats not all; the staff is rude and unfriendly and the food doesnt taste good either.\nso i guess if u wanna waste a lot of money for a disappointment then go there; otherwise THINK TWICE before going! it was very disappointing for me and my family

Miami Sea aquarium is not a very great place to visit on vacation or otherwise and I will tell you why! Not only is this place Dirty, and too exspensive, very small and DANGEROUS! but they also have bad habitats for the animals!!! and their main attraction a Orca they call Lolita I found has been there for over 35 years in that small tank. When i seen this tank I was shocked and after I did research and Underneath the stadium is falling apart, they have said they did repairs but they just keep adding temporary braces, Its so dangerous for ur kids to sit in that stadium! I also found lolita was in that same tank with another orca named Hugo who killed himself by ramming his rostrum into the side of the tank. I believe it was because it was too small and he was also kept in a tank they use for manatees now! Basically the Staff is rude! and its dirty, pricey and Its bad on all the animals. Even the deer and Iguanas were all dirty and the deer had wounds! and Lolitas tank is way too small she has to do circles and circles all day to get the exercise she needs and it also has no shade because the tanks to small for shade. Its sad.\nIts not worth your money!\n

Miami Sea aquarium is not a very great place to visit on vacation or otherwise and I will tell you why! My family visited Seaquarium recently and we were shocked. First of all, it's extremely expensive - $40 a person, $8 for parking, expensive food, etc. (the food by the way was absolute garbage, fast food, greasy!) \n\nThere was nowhere shady to sit down in the park and there were only a couple (maybe 8?) exhibits with sad-looking animals crammed into tiny, outdated, concrete cages and pools. It looked like a prison for them. The dolphins and orca were in such small tanks. My youngest child asked why the whale was as big as the tank! :(\n\nThere was garbage in the animal cages, trash overflowing in cans, blaring music played throughout the park, messy bathrooms... as bad as it gets.\n\nDon't waste your time or money. This place is an absolute dump! Not worth it. We enjoyed the Children's Museum and Historical Museum 100 times more than Seaquarium.

This place is actually a very nice attraction. I have read many negative reviews about it however, if you really look at some of the pictures, there isn't anything wrong with it! Many of the people who protest it are young and stupid teenagers who think that they are trying to make a statement but they are really just trying to get attention for themselves. \n\nThis park is clean and the staff are all very friendly. Don't compare it to SeaWorld since thats a huge corporation (its like comparing apples to oranges). No, the Miami Seaquarium isn't as big but still, it is a very cool place to go. My personal favorite was the Flipper show and the Top Deck Dolphin show. \nIf you see all of the shows, exhibits and keeper talks, it should last you about 5-6 hours max. Give this place a shot, it is a lot of fun! You might even ""fall in love"" with some of their animals!

Good to visit with childer, rare manatees and well-trained dolphins. We were wishing to see more flamingoes though.

First of all it is the dirtiest park that I have ever been to, and I've been all over the United States.\r\n\r\nWhen I walked in I looked at my boyfriend and asked him ""Are they serious?"" it Is THAT bad. From that moment on things got worse. Once you stroll around the paths coming off the entrance you get to the whale ""stadium"". I could not believe how small this tank was, it blew my mind. I found an employee walking around the tank and asked her ""why is the tank so small?"" and she responded ""because it was built for when she was a baby."" I later learned that the tank is the oldest in the world and illegal by government standards for housing an orca. To make matters even worse she shared that tank with a dolphin as well.\r\n\r\nHer show was tear jerking and left me infuriated that I had actually contributed my money to this horrible establishment. Her tank was only a little over twice as long as her and when she did her jumps she often banged herself off the bottom because it was so shallow.\r\n\r\nOther than that the coral reef tank had salt water leaks coming from the viewing windows that formed algae on the glass where you looked in so you could hardly see anything on the inside. It was really scary when we were walking out of that building and you get wet because of a big leak squirting on you from the top of the tank by the exit. I actually thought it was a sprinkler to cool us off before we went outside, until I asked another employee about it and he said it was a leak.\r\n\r\nThe sea lions had a small tank and 2 out of the 4 we saw had absinthes on their face and we're really cut up. The dolphins had a normal style stadium that actually was in the best shape out of anything there, but they had so many dolphins jammed into it.\r\n\r\nThe food was expensive and reheated. We ate at a Cafe and spent about $30 on 2 mini pizzas and 2 waters. Trash was floating all over the grounds because the trash cans were over flowing.\r\n\r\nYOU WILL LEAVE THE SEAQUARIUM DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET.

It had been years since I had been to the Miami Seaquarium. I recently had company from out of the country visit and I decided to take them. What a great experience. Both adults and children had a wonderful time. It is amazing the changes they made after Hurricane Andrew. The section for Africa was my favorite. Overall it is very well kept. I recommend anyone that has not been here in a while to go.

My three children and I were looking for something fun to do on vacation. This attraction seemed good for a 2 year old, 8 year old and 10 year old. At first glance, the attractions seem out of date. All three children did very much enjoy the killer whale/dolphin show. They wanted to see it again. After that, there was another dolphin show, and yes a third dolphin attraction. We did try to see the shark encounter, which mainly consists of a staff member standing over a murky canal explaining shark information while they drop chum in the water. The water is so dark you cannot see the shark, and there is no underground viewing of the sharks. The rest of the shows were kind of lame. We were in and out in 3 1/2 hours. The price seems kind of hefty for less than a half a days adventure. Oh and of course they charge you $7.00 to park. I guess if you have seen Monkey Jungle, Butterfly World, etc. you might as well give it a whirl, but I would not go out of my way to go to this attraction.

My children have had the opportunity to participate in another dolphin swim program (Bahamas) and the Seaquarium program was a costly ($800) disappointment. The staff that was to initially greet us was late (no fun to wait in the heat and humidity of a Miami summer), and while we all kept asking when the program was going to get started, only the gentleman at the front gate seemed to show the slightest bit of interest. When the staff finally arrived, we were given a quick tour of some of the Seaquarium venues. It was noisy and the guide spoke softly and so fast that she was hard to understand. Most of the group didn't hear the presentation because they were lagging behind as they fought their way through the crowds. The actual orientation seemed more focused on getting waivers signed and ""pitching"" the photo packages then in providing any education on dolphins and their habitat. By the time we finally got in the water, everything was rushed since the trainers wanted to get the program in before it started to rain, so the experience really consisted of riding a boogie board while being pushed by a dophin to one end of the ""pool"" and then being dragged back by a dolphin to the other end of the pool. There was very little interaction with the dolphins. In the other swim programs, you don't stand on a dock in waist deep water, but are actually giving life vests so you're in the water with the dophins. In the other program, you're interacting with the dolphins throughout the entire time you are in the water. If this experience at the Seaquarium wasn't so expensive, it would have been laughable. The only people who could possible say that this was a great experience are people who have never had the opportunity to experience a ""real"" swim program! Pass on the Seqaurium and check out one of the other swim programs available!

The Seaquarim is a fun way to spend the afternoon. It's not very big and they don't have a lot of shows. The killer whale and dolphin show was good. They have a sea lion feeding area which is pretty neat. There are lots of interesting animals to see. I feel their admission prices are very high for the amount of things there to do.

Took a trip to Miami and this was the highlight of the trip. The place is enormous with lots of different sea creature exhibits. Although my son was a little young, he still enjoyed it very much, especially the dolphin show. The admission prices were reasonable for a big city like Miami. The sea aquarium was a little hard to find so its best to get specific directions before you set out.

I'm not sure what Miami Seaquarium is charging for admission, but if it's any more than $20, then I would say skip it. Seeing all the animals and exhibits is interesting and the ones where you can actually interact with them are the best. They used to have a tank of dolphins you could feed and pet. Depending on the price, this may or not be worth it for some. If you're a fan of ocean animals then this might be exciting, but other than that, you may not find it so. Also, prices within the park are fairly expensive from what I recall. One also has to question how humanely the animals are treated there.

My friends and I made reservations to swim with the dolphins at this marine park. We had an awesome experience, swimming with dolphins and learning about other marine mammals. The park strives in educating visitors on dolphins, whale, sea lions and manatees through their shows and presentations. The gate admission may seem pricey but worth it once you realize your gate admission is contributing to the park's marine life conservation programs such as manatee and sea turtle rehab.

I almost didn't go, based on some of the reviews I read. Decided to go because I had family in from Naples & they wanted to. I live here & haven't been to the Seaquarium in several years. They have built a playground since I was there last & the grandkids spent well over an hour there. One show was closed for remodeling, but the whale show was as good as I remember. The highlight of their trip was getting to swim with the dolphins. There wasn't any availabiltiy that Saturday, but we made reservations & went back today. It was the most wonderful experience I can imagine. There are banners up that say it's their 50th annoversary - I can't believe how good they look at 50! Had a great time ....

We are locals and my 3 year old son never gets tired of going to Seaquarium. He loves the animals, shows, the playground and feeding the fish in the coi pond. He knows the names of all the sealions, manatee, dolphins and of course his favorite Lolita the Killer Whale. We go every Halloween to Monster Splash for safe & fun trick or treating and every easter they have a great egg hunt event! Seaquarium is a great place for a playdate, we go often with friends, order a pizza (yummy) and have a great playdate picnic!\n\nFor the adults there is a great swim with the dolphins program! My husband and I enjoyed it so much we used the photo from our experience as our holiday card! \n\n

You'll have a whale of a good time at the Miami Seaquarium.
The summer can be hot but if you go in the cooler months, kids of all ages will enjoy sharks, manatees, sea lions, and Lolita the Killer Whale. The Whale show is highly recommended and my kids always love it! But try and stay dry.
For the younger set, there's a great Pirate themed playground but bring a change of clothes for the kids because there's water involved.

I've been to the Miami Seaquarium many times and each time have mixed emotions about my visits and what I see there..For the most part it is a fun and educational park for children of all ages..The bad part is, as an adult I can't help but cringe at the size of the tanks the whales and dolphins have to live in. The Living Reef is also distressing at times but it had recently undergone repairs and I was there during that time when it was closed to the public so I haven't seen it since it's reopened..I hope the improvements are obvious.

Still, it is an opportunity for children to see ocean life they may not get a chance to see otherwise..Maybe a few will grow up to be environmentalists and make sure these wonderful creatures are kept out of harms way

PROS: The shows are fun to watch especially for small children
CONS: Small tanks and showcases for the whales

The Seaquarium has been a family favorite for thirty years now. The dolphin and killer whale shows are our favorites. (Don't sit near the front unless you want to get wet!) In addition to shows, there are beautiful aquariums filled with the most amazing fish and other sea animals. Endagered manatees can be seen up close, as can sharks, rays, and exotic animals. This is a must-see for any family with kids!

After being to Seaworld, Seaquarium is quite inferior. However, for the price it charges, I guess you get what you pay for.\n\nI was not too impressed with the fact that there are three dolphin shows in one park. It seemed kind of an overkill. Otherwise, the shows are normal.
