I have boarded my small dogs here twice before and the owner, Lindsey, was very nice and agreed to board them for $25 a day since the dogs were so small (4lbs each) and crate together. All went well then.

The Second Time:
I went in to p/u my dogs they charged me $50 per day. I told the young girl at the front register that because the dogs were so small (4lbs each) and crate together, Lindsey had charged me only $25 per day. She said she saw it in the computer previously and adjusted the rate.

The Third (and Last) Time:
Today, Christmas EVE, I p/u my two dogs and was told I owed $469.00. I mentioned my previously rate and she said the girl had charged me incorrectly previously. Now, this girl must have been suffering some serious PMS or was having some problems with her BF (or GF), because she was about as bitchy as they come. So, I paid her and thought "It would've been nice to know I was going to be charged the full rate at the time I dropped off the pups, and YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE TO BE SUCH A BITCH ABOUT IT".

Some other observations:
The "Pee-Wee" room has some very hostile (and not so Pee-Wee dogs in it). My pups were very scared when they entered.

Conclusion:
So, if you have a toy breed, are very attached to your dog, or just simply like to be treated politely, I suggest you find a boarder more suited to smaller dogs and serving affluent customers. It's not the money, it's the way I was treated, so I will no longer board my dogs here. This owner needs to learn to manage her employees better.

I had visited 3 other groomers on Oak Lawn and I was not happy with any of them--too expensive, bad attitude,
my dog's instructions weren't followed! I had gotten a coupon for $5 off grooming at Kroeger and decided to give them a try! The groomer met with me personally, and my dog's groom was PERFECT! I loved their cologne too! And I was able to buy her some other bows to change out. I thought they were competitively priced and very personable.

I recently had a work happy hour for clients and their dogs at the Pooch Patio. It was a huge success! The pup cakes were awesome, staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful selection of beers and wine! I will definetly come here again with my pup for beer/wine/coffee!

So GREAT!

My dog is half cocker spaniel half king charles cavalier and when i decide to officially groom her for the first time and the second time i called pooch patio and spoke with them about the difficult challenge of grooming a mixed breed and they were fantastic.
My pooch looks great and i have gotten so many compliments on her cut that i must encourage all to go here for basic or difficult cuts.

I think that the quality of care my dog received is pretty good based on her mood when she returned. She seemed tired (which is a good thing) and she was not scared. My only complaint would be that the muttcam for the small dog room was not working properly. I was never able to see her in the true environment. Also, when I called to talk to a lady about it, she hung up the phone on me..kind of rude. I would say that I would bring my dog back once the muttcam is fixed.

Pooch Patio was a bad experience.
The supervision is questionable at this facility. My dogs have been injured several times at this place and the staff admitted that they are too overwhelmed to be able to handle the number of dogs they allow to stay for daycare. I had to stop taking my dogs there after the owner basically said her business was more important than one or two dogs not coming back because their owner didn't like they way she ran things. I've since realized I'm not the only one that has trouble there.

Business Response:

Response from Owner John, We strive to be a reputable business with competent staff. I would like to provide "the other side of the story." Although you have two very gregarious labs, they do enjoy rough-housing as most big dogs do. On the last incidence, my staff member advised you that we were "overwhelmed" with boxers in the large day care because of their dominant nature in pack play. On that day, there were numerous "incidents". She did not mean to insinuate that we were not able to control them, but rather that it was a very challenging day monitoring all of their temperaments in one environment. A dog fight can occur within seconds over jealousy for attention, toy aggression, or dominance. Our staff dilligently monitors the dogs in group play. We have a (3) strike policy whereby if the same dog is involved in (3) altercations causing injury to another dog w/in a 3 month period of time, then that dog will be asked to leave. Again, I am very sorry that your dogs were injured a few times in different circumstances by different dogs. I do not believe it was due to the poor supervision of our staff or their inability to manage the dogs, but rather due to dogs being dogs.
.

Without a doubt one of the best places to take your dog. We almost always use the Patio ( they book fast on holidays) because they are so great with dogs. The people are bright cheerful and are always excited and seem to know the names of all the dogs on site. A very personal feeling, and a cheerful environment make the pooch patio my first choice when I need someone to care for my dogs.

My terrier, Willa is an active busy dog. On the days when she stays at home, she needs constant exercise and attention. I am so grateful to have a fun place for her to stay when I am at work. At the end of the day, she is tired and happy. I know that she is exercising and playing. At the end of the week she is groomed and bathed (fluffed and buffed), ready for a weekend at home smelling and feeling good.

I have taken my two Yorkies to the Pooch Patio for grooming and/or baths every two weeks for the last couple of years. The facility is well maintained and you can tell the character of the owner the moment you meet her. April and her staff are true animal lovers and it shows in all aspects of the business. I am a very busy person and April goes out of her way to make sure I get reminders....even to remind me that it is Friday and my kids are there. I would highly recommend the Pooch Patio.

I have been a client for several years now of the pooch patio and have 2 standard poodles who require a lot of grooming work... We have been very happy with the results and service that we continue to get from The Pooch and would recommend it to any looking for a great grooming experience.

I have 3 dogs of various sizes and temperaments. They all three have a great time at the "Pooch". The team is very efficient, the establishment is exceptionally clean and well organized. Great Concept! The main area of expertise for my pets is their grooming facilities. Not only do they have a well versed staff who truly understands the needs and concerns in grooming dogs but they offer insightful tips on doing it yourself. Once you're ready to take it on yourself, the Pooch offers self service stalls. Fabulous Idea! I would highly recommend Pooch Patio for anyone who loves their dogs and feel they deserve top rate care. Oh and while your pooch is getting her nails polished, have April whip you up one of her famous Lattes... terrific!

I agree with Amy C - Pooch Patio is Amazing! I have taken my dog for day care, grooming and boarding for a year- he just loves it. He can hardly wait to get out of the car to run to the door to be greeted by the wonderful staff. Every Friday is his "spa" day - he is groomed beautifully and all fluffed up for his weekend. The groomer does an excellent job on my white fluff dog that needs so much special attention. I have taken my dog to several day cares and groomers and by far Pooch Patio is THE BEST! Everyone on staff is warm, friendly and helpful - making me feel like my dog is the only dog in the world! Thanks for the special attention.

The facility is extremely clean, the staff is knowledgeable & professional and my dogs get top notch care.
The groomers do wonderful work on my pets and there has never been a nick or cut on them after their grooming. The groomers are extremely careful, kind and gentle with your animals which is very important to owners. The Pooch Patio is the ONLY place I will take my pets and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for superior services for your pet needs. Thank you for all your hard work and kindness to my animals!!!

Thank god for this facility! We tried 6 day cares in the city prior to finding The Pooch Patio. Courteous and professional staff, great concept, very clean facility and you can tell they care about the dogs! Love the webcams too!
And having a beer after work with my dog at pickup is a great way for both of us to wind down! This place puts the other day cares I tried to shame! We will be their loyal customers!

I had a horrible grooming experience down the street and heard about The Pooch Patio. Not only is their grooming top notch, but I was very impressed with their day care facility and staff friendliness too! It was very clean and the dogs looked so content! Definitely going to be a loyal customer from now on!

I kind of don't want to write this lest the secret get out, but I think we owe the owners. We've been taking our dog Zoe there for over 6 months. After witnessing the "factory" type of doggie day cares (which is actually close by the pooch patio but no where near as good with your pet) I wanted a place where our dog would be supervised. She has a "jumping" habit and tends to be able to jump over gates at other places.

Anyway - at the pooch patio your pet gets supervision most, if not all, of the time. The facilities are great and they get to know you and your dog. Boarding is a snap. Zoe actually waits to see if we're going to say "you ready?" in the morning and then gets excited since she knows it means day care day. Previously, she'd resist getting out of the car. Now she jumps out and is excited to go. It costs a little bit more than the last place, but it's well worth it! Great business.

I volunteer with a humane society in the area and the Pooch Patio let us host an adopt a pet there not to long ago. Although we did not recieve much attention we still had a great time. The dogs were able to run around more so than a normal adoption and we got to kind of hang out as well.

I have tried more day cares throughout the metroplex than I care to admit "shopping around" for the best day care and boarding facility for Winston. I even drove 15 miles in the opposite direction of my work to one based upon recommendations I received from avid day-care goers at the dog park and after being poorly treated by the immature staff and smelling the facility upon entry, I refused to leave my dog there for the day. I fortunately found out about The Pooch Patio on Citysearch and decided to give it a try. Not only was I incredibly impressed by cleanliness and overall adorable character of the business itself, but was offered a Puppucino while I filled out my paperwork, and given a full facility tour at drop-off. The staff was so professional and personable and I knew immediately that Winston had found his new home away from home. I have now been going to The Pooch Patio for over a month now, the staff all knows me by name, and provides me a report card and home-made treat bag for Winston at pick-up! I see such a huge difference in the quality of care for their client's vs. the other facilities I frequented. Winston and I give The Pooch Patio our vote for being as they advertise "the ulti-mutt place" for you and your dog.

Cons: Winston now sits at the door waiting to go play day on the weekends! (is that a bad thing?)

I am a flight attendant and have moved with my "daughter" Gracie 7 times in the last 2 years. Needless to say, I have become an expert at finding her that home away from home when she can't be with me due to my travel schedule. I arrived in Dallas, located 6 facilities for me to tour and The Pooch Patio was the fourth facility I saw. I walked in without calling ahead, was greeted by an extremely professional and courteous staff (the owner was even onsite), was given a facility tour without an appointment and they answered all of my questions without hesitation. I have since left Gracie in their care weekly and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The facility is constantly getting upgrades, is so meticulously clean and I can't say enough nice things about the staff! I trust Gracie in their care without question! Two paws up for me (and four for Gracie)!!

The pooch patio is a place you can be worry free about leaving your dog. After a day of play your dog will return home without all of that extra energy. The Pooch Patio has installed a webcam so that you are able to check on your dog at any time. I wouldn't leave my lab anywhere else.

Dogs have needs too. That?s what I kept reminding myself as I searched for the perfect doggie daycare for my precious puppy, Patches. After researching the internet, asking around, and checking out different daycares, I found the ideal place. Shocked by how filthy many of the doggie daycares were in this city, it didn?t take long for me to make my decision. The Pooch Patio on Fairmount would be Patches? new home away from home. It was clean, and that sealed the deal.
While taking your dog to daycare is not a cheap venture, it?s certainly worth every penny if you find the right one. At The Pooch Patio, your dog is cared for by a team of dog lovers in a friendly and safe environment. As you walk through the door, you and your dog are immediately greeted by cheerful, smiling faces. Depending on your dog?s size, they will spend the day in the small or large daycare, constantly supervised and entertained. They can romp, roll, and run until they?re pooped from all the fun!
The Pooch Patio is no ordinary doggie daycare. In addition to daycare, they offer self and full service grooming, overnight boarding, a bark boutique filled with specialty dog products, and a full service coffee, beer, and wine bar. The K-9 friendly outdoor patios provide you and your dog with a place to hang out with friends of the talking and barking kind. It?s also the perfect place to celebrate your dog?s special occasion with one of the many party packages offered. Birthdays, bark mitzvahs, and pet adoptions too, your festivities are sure to be memorable ones.
Never settle when it comes to your dog?s safety and happiness, and never settle when it comes to your own peace of mind. Your dog is like your child, and he or she deserves to be treated like royalty. The Pooch Patio will never disappoint you, and your dog is guaranteed a wail tagging good time. Check out the website for more info. It?s the ultimate dog bar in Dallas, paws down.

Stop by the Pooch Patio. This is a fun place to bring your dog and enjoy a nice day out. The staff is friendly and so much is provided for your dog such as day care, grooming and more!

Bring your dog in for a fun time. There are two patios, a full bar that also has coffee and light food. dogs have several play rooms. For a small fee they supply you with everything you need to bathe your dog. I love this place.

read the nice reviews from various magazines and thought i would try it. i have two dogs and submitted the apps for them and submited their records. the staff gave me attitude because they insisted my dog did not have one of his shots. i called the vet and they told me my dog had a shot that lasted two years and it is indicated on the records. i told the staff this but they did not apologize for being rude.
I was having reservations at that point. Unfortunately, I had no choice and left them at doggie day care because some work was being done on my place. They are skittish and don't like noise. Later on, I viewed them on web cam and saw a guy drilling and sawing in the day care area with them in it.
needless to say i was pissed i took them out before 5p and paid my fee. i expressed my disappointment to them and all they did was apologize. I will never go there again.
Maybe people are too drunk on the wine to see this place is really not the best for animals or people.

The Pooch Patio is a really hip coffee, beer and wine bar/ doggie boutique and day care. Hang out on the patio and enjoy a treat for yourself and your best dog friend.
