This place is very cute. Also, the front desk people were friendly, and the women who did my manicure and pedicure were friendly enough. However, the manicure I got was really, really sloppy. (Plus, it lasted only 2 days.) The polish job on my pedicure was not sloppy, but they do a very quick, non-thorough job in terms of foot care. They really don't spend any time exfoliating, buffing your feet, or removing callouses. Teashi, down the street is slightly more expensive, but so, so much better. After a pedicure from Teashi, my feet are so smooth. Plus, I have had manis from Teashi that I have stretched out through almost 2 weeks. As a sidenote, Teashi also has really great estheticians, so they are great for facials and waxing also.

What a adorable nail salon for the neighborhood. Everyone is friendly in there. My polish alway last a week. And it always smell very fresh in there, unlike a lot of the other ones

ZERO STARS RATING! I will NOT recommend to family, co-workers or friends. POOR customer service! For such a lavish area in the Bay area I would expect more out of a business on Santana Row. I bought $140 gift certificate for my brother and sister in law. They were told the certificate was used when it was not. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

I had avoided getting my first brazilian wax for quite some time because I had always been told that people bruise, and that it hurts. I received this recommendation from a friend of mine, who had the same fears as me. I decided to give it a go, and scheduled an appointment. Lonni was my esthetician and she was amazing. It only took her 10 minutes, and it was surprisingly comfortable. She is very friendly, very efficient, and extremely thorough. I haven't been quite the same since. If you want an amazing brazilian, go see Lonni!

If they're known for speedy service, I would give them a 10. My friend and I went in for a manicure+spa pedicure and the whole treatment took about 20 minutes. I have had basic manicure and pedicure treatments at other salons for at least 30+ minutes. The service was so fast that it was hard to relax and enjoy the experience. Not only were they in a rush but they were rough and somewhat sloppy at their work. However, the atmosphere was great. Lovely decor, big open space and very comforting and inviting. It felt clean and sanitary. And the tubs they used for spa pedicures are known to carry less or no bacteria. Lavande even offered treats (sandwiches, cookies and fruit) to snack on. The best part of the treatment was the spa pedicure. The lady gave me a good 5-10 minute leg massage and used an amazing heated mango scent moisturizer. I really enjoyed the atmosphere but I left disappointed at their service. I most likely would not go again.

This place is super cute inside, with lots of yummy treats to snack on while waiting. They are sometimes a little late to get you into your appointment, but the pedicures are great and last way longer than average without chipping. There are lots of nail polish colors to choose from, too. I would definitely recommend this place for mani/pedis and the gift certificates are a great idea for a present.

We bought about 10 of us into this shop one day and they did a great job of getting us all in and making our little friend party enjoyable. The price was right and the fresh fruit and snacks laying around kept the crowd pumped up.

PROS: Great Facials
CONS: Small Shop

I visited this location in cole valley...
by the looks of the website, i thought i was scheduling the most relaxing spa day for myself in the city, but when i got to the front door my heart sank. in an all- asian "spa" my "esthetician" was a girl not less than 8 monthes pregnant and commented almost immediately that she only had two 10 minute breaks all day. the room i was taken to is no larger than a closet with dirt smudges all over the walls and the noise, between the crowd outside, someone dumping boxes of glass bottles on the other side of the wall, and the cole valley train going by every few minutes...it's insane!
my face was rubbed with the same vigor as a foot rub...anything but relaxing, then she started massaging my hands and shoulders with an oil that i immediately questioned and she told me it was lavender oil. i could tell what it was and i asked more specifically, "is this baby oil, as in mineral oil? " and she admitted to it. UGH!
between aiming the steamer at me and laying some wierd paper thing over my face to "absorb" i think she spent at the most 30 minutes of an hour long facial in the room with me. as i was leaving, i looked at the bottle of oil she used to massage my hands and it was labeled grapeseed oil!
the mani/pedi was fine, i've had hundreds of them and it doesn't stand out in any particular way. one definitely has the feeling they laugh about you with eachother right in front of your face.
i went into this place feeling exhausted after having a monster workweek (intensive care registered nurse) and left feeling then not only exhausted but angry that i had just been ripped off in a BIG way...$125 facial and $50 mani/pedi....i will spend the rest of my life making sure no one makes the same mistake i did. this is san francisco with an abundance of better choices!

Cons: indifferent staff, total ripoff for skincare, absolutely not relaxing

I was given a spa package here as a gift and was really looking forward to it. The massage was great and the rest of it was just OK - I've had better pedicures for half the price. But the real problem was the attitude of the host staff. There was a mix-up over the payment and, before they even checked into the details, I was accused by the assistant manager of having walked out without paying. Even when it turned out to be totally their fault, I was just given more attitude instead of an apology.

I will certainly never go back and, having just read the rest of the reviews here, I don't know why anyone would.

Good mani-pedis at a reasonable/comparable price.I like the convenient location, but be aware of their cancellation policy to avoid being charged for missed appts. They take walk-ins if you time it right, but when i've been there it's been pretty busy.

PROS: good service, reasonable price

I live a block away so I thought I should try them. They are always busy and the place is really nice looking. The receptionist was not friendly at all. The manicure was the worst hands down, I have ever had. I give $5 tips on $8 manicures and get them frequently so I think my opinon is valuable! My cuticles were not touched, the massage wasnt even that, I had to ask her to reshape my nails so they weren't crookedly shaped, when I did she only fixed one (I meant them all), the nailpolish had fuzz in it she didnt remove I had to point it out to her. My topcoat wasnt all over the nail, so there was a line when it dried, and it was bubbly. I did let Stephanie the manager know and she gave me a complementary one, but it was still just OK.

my experience was a nightmare before it even started. I made reservations 2 weeks in advance for myself and my mother for mother's day. I called the day before to confirm my reservation, only to find out they couldn't find my reservation. I remade my reservation and when I arrived the next day, they couldn't find my reservation AGAIN. They accomadated us anyway, but two days later my pedicure was already chipped. I called to take them up on their 7 day "no-chip guarantee" and was given the run around before they (grudgingly) agreed to repaint my nails. Frustration from beginning to end.

The hosts were nice, but seem confused. The esthetician (sp?) was rude and rushed - I wouldn't recommend her to anyone (I had bruises - what the hell is that?). My nails turned out nice though. I've been a couple of times and returned hoping it would be better, but it wasn't. I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL.

I did a 'spa day' at Polk Street a couple of weeks ago. The people at the front desk were very nice. The nail people were OK. The massage therapist was awesome but JACKIE the ESTHETICIAN was a...what's the word...oh yeah, rhymes with the word "WITICH". She rushed, was rude, and seemed to have a bad attitude towards the other staff. I went home and was bruised. SHE WAS AWFUL. Go there for nail and masasge service, but don't go near the esthetician - I wouldn't recommend her EVER.

I've been to Lavande Nail Spa a few times when I am in the neigborhood, and I always wish I have time to go back. When you first walk in to the Spa, you are warmly greeted, and the staff does everything in theior power t make sure that you are comfortable. They have a wide variety of colors to chose from for your manicure and pedicure, and they always have clean instrumnets, which is especially important to me. When yournails are getting done, the people who are working on your nails always carry out great conversation. The prices are pretty affordable, and the parking is not too hard to find. I would highly recommend this spa to all of my family and friends because it is an excellent place and the customer service is great.

I just moved into the neighborhood and found this place. It has a nice and cozy ambience. I had a French manicure and pedicure, and it turned out to be one of the best that I have ever had. They are very clean. They asked me if I wanted to keep the file and buffer after the service ( which I think is kind of strange ). I said I didnt and they threw it away. I guess its their way to show you that they do dispose those stuffs. Nonetheless I am very impressed and will definitely go back.

I went to Lavande for a pedi/mani and found it to be just fine. It was pretty much the same treatment I get up the street, except that Lavande charged me $10 more. I suppose that was for the cucumber in my water? The real horror was when I went in for a bikini wax. This was by no means my first wax - I know what to expect - but it was by far the worst. I left with so many bruises and an awful lot of pain. The aesthetician was rushing and didn't understand my skin or hair. It was just bad. I won't go back there for anything, ever.

I went to their new Santana Row location, anticipating a relaxing pedicure in a cute environment. I had the Lavande Deluxe pedicure, for $35. There were 3 limp leaves of mint and a couple of slices of cucumber in tepid water. The nail tech didn't ask me if the water temp was good or not. It was painful, from the sanding of my skin with the square block to digging in of the cuticle nipper to some kind of weird fist pounding on the tops of my feet that passed for part of the "massage". I've had 100's of pedi's in my 40-plus years, and this one was terrible. Thank goodness the polish went on without a hitch. At least I won't have to re-do that. I unfortunately, can't recommend this place.

I just moved to San Francisco and was so worried I would not be able to find a great place to get my nails done. Let me tell you I've found it and more. This place is great, the perfect place to take a break from my hectic schedule and treat myself to something special. The service was great, very professional, the place is really cute, and price is totally reasonable especially compared to other shops with comparable treatments.

This is the latest in the crop of nail spas. The space is very nice, light and airy but the service was proportionally better than the corner shop. I ordered something a little exotic off the nail menu and it was clear that my girl hadn't done the service before. I think the Cole Street location is more professionally run that this shop.

PROS: Nice atmosphere

their workers couldn't understand english that well. From reading their store descrpition, it's total opposite experience. I felt there's no difference between one in chinatown and this. Sure the store is cute and price is reasonable, but my first experience here was the host was rude and communications with workers was difficult. If one having difficult times understanding your say, how professional are they to understand what products they're using? Overall, it's ok, but cute place.

I moved to LA last summer but whenever I'm in San Francisco for a visit I make sure to schedule an appointment at my favorite nail salon! I have yet to find a comparable salon in LA which provides the relaxed but thorough service which I find a deal for the prices they charge. It's a little bit more than your standard nail salon but the ambiance is worth the few extra dollars!

Just got back from a full leg & bikini wax. Note this is my fourth time going here for the same thing. For some reason, today, I was charged an extra $10 for an 'extended' bikini. Not sure what that means, but in the 11 years that I have been waxing, there was nothing 'extended' about this treatment, it was the same as always. In addition, I came home to find that I still have a TON of missed hairs on my leg, primarily on the knees. Not to mention, each time I have gone I have come back with hairs still on my leg, I will be looking for a new place. Maybe they can invest the additional 'rip-off' charge into better lights and more decent aesteticians (sp?) who can see all hairs and know that their job is to remove them? Was a fan, but am no longer.
