If you ever find yourself in the land of Faulkner, you have to go to Square Books.

The store is rich and warm and has a large selection of Southern classics.

Many writers also visit the place, so they usually have lots of signed copies of books in stock.

Wonderful place to browse and buy.

Square Books is the epitome of Oxford. It is literary and artsy and cozy. The workers there are helpful but don't hound. The cafe is cheap and has excellent coffee. The balcony is beautiful and inviting. The book selection is great with a very large selection of Southern books. What they don't have, they will order. A must visit when you come to Oxford.

PROS: good Southern selection
CONS:

Square Books has such a sense of history to it. The store has been in Oxford for many many years, and is known all over the country. Tourists come to town and Square Books is one of the first places they visit. Their representatives are friendly and helpful and they always keep a selection of both contemporary and popular authors, side by side with local favorites.
