Who like to pay for a major car repair but Tanner was way less than the Dealers and we got a one-year warranty for $1,400.00 installed in our 2001 Ford F150. Would recommend to others.

I am an auto parts dealer and I sold a $535 part to them and when we tried to collect they just gave the run around they never gave a striaght answer when questioned on when we would get paid this shop and there management is completely unperfesional if they treat there customers like they treat there suppliers then where all in big trouble its amazing that theres people like this in the world today. I wouldnt recomend any one every not matter what do any bussiness with these clowns what so ever!

i just wrote a huge, angry review and the computer froze. so i will say this...my story is almost verbatim of the other review...i felt like i had written it. cash for tranny, had big problems so i needed a rebuild...have taken it back twice after i got it back in worse condition than i took it both times, not returning phone calls...not calling when they promise me they will. secretaries lying to me. called from a different number so the owner would not recognize my phone number and he answered right away. then he told me he was at the doctor's office and couldn't talk but would call back in 30 minutes. never called, of course. now the mechanic that answered tells me 5-star is going under and he is taking over but is not responsible for my car now. but after much debate he tells me he will fix it anyway and it will be done tomorrow. so when i go pick it up tomorrow i can guarantee that it will not be fixed and then i will have to take legal action to get my car back to normal. it absolutely is crazy to me that there are people like this trying to run a business and get away with it. if i did my job like they do theirs, then people would die. unbelievable. i have no other word for what they are doing. other reviewer person...if you read this, will you email me and tell me your final result. matmprice@yahoo. thank you.

Before I paid, the owner John was very helpful. He said the transmission needed to be replaced. I agreed to pay the $2,000+ after he said it would help him if I paid in check or cash. My mistake!! I would do a charge back in a second. Clearly he knew that.
The car still has problems. I've taken it back 5 times with each time lasting a week and still problems. They never get back to me. I've never spoken with John since and now the shop manager is giving me the slip. They never return calls, always forgetting to work on it and making up excuses as to why its taking so long. Like having to take it to the dealership to run a diagnostic check because is what something their computer couldn't find. I called the only two dealers in the state and none of them even saw my car from 5 star and I took it to auto zone where their hand help computer found the problem in 10 sec. Still having problems with the car and nobody will call me back. Will seek legal advise. AGAIN STAY AWAY!! What is still ringing in my memory is a statement John made that he and his wife built this company on integrity. What a bad name he's leaving for his wife.

This is the only time I have been frustrated enough to want to tell everyone that to never go to a company. My car had an issue with its transmission, in that it would not reverse any more. I took it to 5 star transmission on Friday the 13 of July 2007 and asked them to tell me what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix. They said they would look at it right away. An hour later, the manager called me saying that my transmission was over heating and that taking it apart and putting it back together might fix the issue. I said; "As long as when they put it back together, it would still be able to drive forward and that I didn't want to pay $500 for a diagnostic as their advertisement stated it would free." He assured me that this was the case and it would be completed on Monday night, so I consented. I rented a car in the meantime. I called back Tuesday morning as they did not call me on Monday. They told me after pulling the transmission apart they could not put it back together unless I paid $2800. I told them to just put the transmission back into the car so I could drive it to be traded in. They told me that they could not do this. I told them this was promised to me on Friday and that they need to uphold their part and finish it today (Tuesday). I called back the next day and still they had not worked on it. I told he again we need them to work on it because we are paying money per day for a rental. He said he still needed the $2800 to fix the car. Now that the car is apart they think they can charge me anything they want. It has now been a week with our any help or progress on my car, and all the managers involved are MIA. Please never go here.
