Aliante Nature Discovery Park is nice for the area

by Manda W.

This is a really spacious pretty park. Ive lived in Vegas for about 3yrs and just discovered this park a few months ago. My 2yr old LOVES the turtle pond. (The ducks are kinda scary cuz theyll almost attack you even if you dont have bread.)
My son likes to play on the big kid slides (the toddler play area doesnt really amuse him very much) so we usually have to go really early in the morning so there arent very many kids or its too dangerous for him. Theres usually atleast 1 icecream truck no matter what time you go so thats a nice treat for the kids. Overall, its a lot nicer than some of the other parks in the city. Very pretty, def worth going to see.

Aliante Nature Discovery Park is wonderful for my family's lifestyle.

by Chelsie C.

Beautiful! This park is part of our family plans during the week. At least once a week we go there to have a picnic on the lawn while watching soccer practice, volleyball matches or families kick around the soccer ball. I must say that it does become quite crowded so go during the early morning before 10AM, definitely not between 12-5P. After 5PM there is still a bit of people there but its starts clearing up soon after, I suppose for dinner.. The playground equipment is fun even for the adults with a kid's heart, the water pads are always fun and essential during the summer time, the pond is gorgeous, the ducks & turtles add to the charm, walking/running trails and mini hills are great exercise. When its windy out this is the perfect place for flying a kite. On the weekend join other families there for a bar-be-que or picnic. Cloud watching, cat-naps & blowing bubbles optional.

Too little, too big

by Kristen W.

The park is very busy. My child is 4, so she has grown out of the toddlers' area and is too young for the larger kids area. Try another park if you kid is between 3 and 6. Although, this is a great place to take a walk and see ducks and turtles in the pond.

NICE, AWESOME, HUGE PARK...

by EVELYN M.

I moved to N. Las Vegas in the summer of 07 and did not discover this park till just a few months ago. We have taken our 3 kids there several times now and they love it. The park is very clean and the landscaping is awesome. There is a waterfall and a duck pond. So don't forget to take crackers or popcorn or something to feed the ducks and birds with. The play area is fairly large and there is a huge "jungle gym" i guess you would call it...there is like 4 or 5 large slides and in a separate play area if you have toddlers. There is also a large area that has sand, like a sand box, and has dinosaurs which my kids love. The park also has like a water play area which I assume they only operate during the summer months but I bet it sure gets crowded during the summer. I havent been in the bathrooms there, but my husband did and he said they were fairly clean, not dirty and disgusting. There are huge grassy areas all over and several picnic tables with BBQ pits. As a matter of fact, we are going there this weekend to BBQ so it should be fun. The park also has a couple of volleyball courts which I think that would be fun to do also. The times I have went, there was a lot of people but not too out of control to where you can't see your kids playing. However, my kids are a little older, 6, 9 & 12. I wouldnt advise the little ones under 4 to play in the big play area unless it is not that crowded because there are bigger kids running all over the place. Overall, we love this park and would recommend anyone to go check it out at least once...my kids love feeding the ducks and where the waterfall is you can take a great pic of the your kids there.

Not over crowded...

by Katrina C.

You just have to go at the right times. I would say before lunch at about 10:00/10:30. It's fine at that time. I wouldn't go after the older kids get out of school. Although, I my experience, even with the older kids there my small two year old was fine. The big kids were really nice and weren't running all over the little ones.

Too crowded for any fun or safe.

by T B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 434

This is a beautiful park however this park is so overcrowded that it is dangerous. We took my 2-year-old to this park because we had heard so much about it. It was insane. There were so many people there that kids (we are talking 13 - 14 year olds) were flying off the bottom of the slide so fast they remained airborne for 3 feet almost taking out my child. We tried on a different day and it was still just as crowded. Avoid this park if you value your child's safety.

PROS: Dinosaur theme.
CONS: Too crowded to be safe.

Aliante Nature Discovery Park

by Emily Y. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,887

This is honestly one of the nicest parks I have been to. It is very clean and the neighborhood is excellent. The equipment is new and safe and most of it is covered to avoid sun exposure. There is water fun, dinosaur rocks, and a duck pond. It is a really great family place.

One of the best

by Diana L. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,079

This park is one of the best all purpose parks I've been to. It has a fenced in play area for kids that includes swings, dinosaur sand box/excavation, big kid slides, little tots area, and a water play area. Outside the fenced area is a pond with ducks, walking trails, huge green manicured grass areas, covered picnic tables with grills, tennis courts, bocci courts, and beach volleyball. They also have have lots of functions at the park like movies and country music. You can find all that information from park services or the website. They currently have 2 parking lots that can fill up pretty quick sometimes, but you can park along the street for now. The area is pretty new, so there is a lot of construction near by and that may affect parking as well.

Beautiful

by angela p. | insider Insider | Rank: 21,389

Las vegas has some of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen and this park has everthing. My toddler had a wonderful time. There is a large playground with water coming from the aligators. The play area on the ground is extremely soft. there is sand, slides, swings, picnic area, pond, ducks, waterfall and manicured lawns. We will definately be returning. And definately would recommend this park. Dogs are allowed.

PROS: I loved everthing
CONS: None

Great Place For the Kids

by lizzie e. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,901

The Nature Discovery Park at Aliante offers a variety of activities for kids. There is a water play area, with sprinklers, there is a huge dinosaur sandbox, and there are two playgrounds. One for little tots and one for older kids, with a huge slide. The whole playground area is fenced in, so you don't have to worry about your little one running off. There are also soccer fields, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, a volleyball area, and a huge waterfall you can relax next to.
