new system installed approx march 07. contract specified a programmable t-stat which was provided but failed after about 60 days. temporarily replaced by service tech w/a non programmable t-stat. when I tried to set an appointment for specified t-stat to be installed a person named jack informed me that they not going to fulfill the contract. because and I quote jack "they are too expensive". the service tech told me while he was here that they had been having trouble w/these t-stats. since a programmable t-stat was originally installed as part of the system is by itself proof of condition of contract. I am very sadly disappointed by what at first seemed to be an excellent install.if this is not resolved by june15 I will contact the contractors board, the bbb bureau and will then go to small claims court which my attorney has assured me will be a slam dunk since the proper t-stat was installed as part of the original agreement. hopefully this wil be resolved quickly and I can change my review to a favorable one. forgot to add that this business operates under the name alltemp a.c. so review would also be poor for alltemp

We were referred to this company by a neighbor when our AC unit was in need of repair. I called and set up an appointment for the next day. It was after 9:00 p.m. when the repair person finally showed up although I had been called at 5:30 to say they would be at my home in an hour.

The technician went up on my roof and was back down in only ten minutes with the news that my AC unit had a freon leak. I was told the repair was a flat rate of $345 and freon would be $25 per pound for five pounds. He also said I would be charged for the service call in the amount of $65. I showed the technician the ad in the yellow pages which stated that the appointment would be free if the repair were done. The technician said it was an "old" ad under Air Temp and that they were now called "Senior Services" and did not offer the service call discount. The phone book was from January, 2005 and this took place in May, 2005.

After haggling, I was charged $475.00 for the repair. The next day, on an impulse, I called three other AC companies. I said that a "friend" in the business had verified a freon leak. I asked for what it would cost. Only one other company used a "flat fee" and it was less than what I paid. The others based the call on an hourly fee. The total time the technician was in my home from start to finish was 1 hour, 15 minutes. The most expensive quote from the other companies was over $200 less than what I paid.

I also found out that freon usually costs $10-$15 per pound and not the $25 per pound that I was charged. Less than a month later, the tubing failed again. I called a different company this time--spent less money and THAT technician could find no evidence that a "weld" had ever been done on my AC unit.

PROS:
CONS: Not prompt, not good quality for the money spent
