They never seem very busy, but I usually have to wait a while. I went in on a Sunday because I had an earache. They ran a strep test, just to be safe. After that came back negative, they told me it was probably a sore throat, causing my ear to hurt. They sent me on my way with a prescription for antibiotics. 2 months later, and I owe $300! They bill your insurance for 3 separate things. 1. A walk-in clinic charge. 2. A physician charge. 3. A "room" charge! The whole total bill added up to over $500! My insurance covered the physician's fee, and the first $200 of everything else. Now I'm stuck with $300 towards my deductible because they feel the need to grossly overcharge for separate things! Seems like a complete lack of ethics to charge $500+ when I was there for only about 25 minutes!

I was referred to Sherman from Greater Elgin as my16 daughter and 8 year old son were sick and Greater Elgin did not accept Aetna. So after checking in i was immedialtely takin into the waiting area and while looking for a magazine to read we were called in to the room to see the doctor. The nurse came in after just a couple of minutes and was very friendly and she made us feel comfortable. Less than 5 minutes later the doctor came in and he sat down and listened to what problems we were having. My 16 yr. old. had been vomiting all night and day even though her stomach was empty. My son had what i thought were ring worms in his hair area and on his face. The doctor took a good deal of time examing my son and he believed the ringworm like rash was seborrach dermititas a dry skin ailment and my daughter had the flu bug- he took a urine sample and sent it to the lab to make sure my daughter didn't have anyother issues and gave me a prescription for my son. he sat with us nearly 30 minutes addressing any concerns as well as what the children had been eating or drinking and what i had been treating my son with. Turns out he even answered a health question for me and i was'nt even being seen. ANd he made us laugh a few times. I would definitly recommend coming again and again. I know i will.

I've been here several times with my kids because it's convenient for emergencies. The job gets done, but they are always VERY slow, even though the place is generally empty. During our latest visit they told my wife that they couldn't reach my insurance co for authorization. She then pointed out the 800 number on our card, they tried again, and miraculously made contact! If you have an alternative you should use it!

I went in - knowing what was wrong with me and only needing to get a perscription for medication ro fix the problem. I sat in the waiting room for about 1 hour. (there were only 3 other people in the waiting room). After they took me into the back I told the nurse what was wrong with me and that I needed a perscription. She asked me tons of questions and ran a test then put me in a patient room to wait for the doctor. I sat there for about 1 1/2 hours waiting for the doctor. Finally a nurse came in, said the doctor was busy and that it seemed I was right in my diagnosis and she would get me a perscription. Then I left. What a waste of my time - my poor husband spent all that time sitting in the waiting room for me too. How inconsiderate - they need more staff or staff who actually do their job.

I had an emergency with ovarian cysts very early in the morning when my regular OB/GYN was out of town. I couldn't even walk. They took care of me right away and I felt listened to when I described my pain. They were very thorough and helpful. The only negative was that the doctor(female) let one of the nurses(female) observe one of my exams without introducing me or telling me why she was there. It felt intrusive but the ultrasounds were very discrete and the nurses kind and considerate. I felt well looked after.

We have attempted to go here several times, and after each visit, we wonder why in the world we even tried again! They take FOREVER, if they even get to you! Our last visit there was for our 2 year old son. They brought us back into a room after waiting about an hour. The nurse came in and did her stuff, then said the doctor would be right in. We waited over an hour with 2 fussy kids! We just walked out! Then, they actually called me the following day to check up on our son who was never seen! That was THE last time I will go back there!

It is well known in the area that this is not a good place for sick people. They take FOREVER to get you in, they have forgotten about me waiting in the examining room, they appear to have a great deal of confusion and what needs to be done when, and sometimes the tension is so high in the waiting room, I am waiting for the next nurse who comes out and announces a patients name to be lynched, or at least tarred and feathered. What can I say when you can't breath but they forget about you?

PROS: NONE!!
CONS: ARROGANT, IMPATIENT, FORGETFUL, UNORGANIZED, SHALL I GO ON???
