You will be hard-pressed to find yourself waiting for a table at this GIGANTIC pool hall. Along with a GREAT atmosphere, and prompt service, this pool hall is among the best in the area. The icing on the cake is the attached bar, where you and your friends can kick back and relax after a couple of rounds of pool.

Mind the crowd though, occassionally you will have to put up with second-hand smoke and vulgarity from certain people. This is alleviated by a dress code and a strictly enforced age limit at the door.

The prices here are reasonable, but not spectacular. You are getting a great, classy atmosphere, so in a sense, you are getting what you pay for.

This would be the perfect place to be if they had a dance hall too. They offer regulatoin pool tables and they're well maintained. The house cues are good enough to use but I usually bring my own. This place is filled with UCB students. Theres a good crowd here on the weekends and evenings.

Thalassa is one of the nicest pool halls around the east bay area. It has a great lounge area with low lighting if you care to have just chill and have drinks while listening to some great music. It has an aquatic theme all around the place and makes it come to life. They have plenty of pool tables but doesn't mean you'll have one everytime you walk in. They give you a pager if you come in at a night when it gets pretty busy. Great place to throw a party or to just hang out. Location is close to UCB so a lot of students there on the weekends. Parking is tough also. But is definiteley a place to visit when in the area.

A great place to go for tables in downtown Berkeley. There are 21 tables here, so it's rare to not get one. Prices are pretty average, and the house cue sticks are decent. There's also a bar in the front (with a smoking patio), not that the pool players would know it. Thalassa's open until 2 every night.
Many public transport options: Downtown Berkeley BART, AC Transit #43, 40, 51, F Transbay

PROS:
CONS: Parking
