This is one of the most unrecognized comedy improv theatres in Chicago. For a mere $17 bucks, you get to see two teams compete for points that are worth nothing by improvising comedic scenes based on audience suggestions. Audience participation is encouraged, and the energy of the theatre troupe is astounding. You'll see and hear some of the best voice and character impersonators and hiphop rapartists as well as barber shop quartets singing crazy, funny songs that they made up in seconds.
The theatre is BYOB. They offer special performances for groups, charity events, and even bachelor and bachelorette parties. The shows that run at 8PM and 10:30PM on Friday nites cater to a PG-13 audience - no swearing or lewd or abusive language is allowed or else the team is penalized in a hilarious way. The midnite shows on Saturdays feature an adult-oriented improv show called the Hot Karl. There is also an improv open mike show at midnite on Fridays to allow the audience more participation in improvising on stage.
What I really like about this place? It's a very affordable and fun way to entertain your date. Plus, there are so many cute girls and guys who attend the shows - a great meet market!
