Worst experience ever. A simple night of bowling was the worst experience for my friends and family. We came all the way from New Jersey to have a good time in TimeSquare and was the most unpleasant experience. The staff is rude and hostile; I even spoke to the manager ( Enricko Bessoneo) to make the complaint and was the man was a complete jerk. A manager should ensure all customers are having a good time and leave a lasting impression to make a customer want to come back. This is the first time I ever in my life wrote a review for anything and my visit this bowling was so bitter that I had to share and save anyone who actually is interested in going here.

Leisure Time Bowl at Port Authority is not at all family friendly. They encouraged us to take the $80 one hour "family" package for the 6 of us, and after the first frame, told us that we needed to pay for a total of 7 people, despite the fact that we were only 6 people. Our bowling start was delayed because I had to speak to the very rude cashier and manager. (The manager came over to our lane with 2 big body guards, presumably to intimidate me and my party of two 8 year old girls, two 5 year old boys, and their father.) The waiter was embarrassed by the manager's behavior, and offered us free drinks on him. Bottom line is that only the kids bowled, but they were unable to complete the game because the time ran out after the 6th frame. As far as I am concerned, I lost $80.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

I was at Leisure Time Bowl last night and WOW... Who would have thought in the midst of all the element of the Port Authority there would be a really nice place like this. My waitress was great! She was really friendly and fast. And the drinks were strong! I was not sure about bowling for one... And bowling in the port... But it was great

I have had really good times at Leisure Time Bowl. I had my God Daughters 9th birthday and everyone, including adults had a great time. I frequently stop by with friends on my way home to Jersey... Not always bowling... But I really like the martini's... And having one before a bus ride is great. But the last time I went I had a blast in the arcade... they just added it... and a restaurant. But I didnt try the new food... I really like the place. Went to a few others in NYC and they were over priced and annoying... This place is laid back.

Response from this business:

Response to Meg O. Thanks for your comment! That fee is communicated and is not hidden. However, if you receive a "Foreign Transaction Fee" please feel free to contact us and we will refund it. Our company is owned by a Danish company and we are working on streamlining our online billing. Please note that this is not a concern if you are booking via phone or in person. Sorry about the inconvenience. We hope you had an AMAZING time at our facility.

This place just can't seem to get it together and after this league is over I would never ever come back.
Lanes break down constantly and repeatedly. They have been undergoing construction for over 2 years and still can't manage to get it finished. There is still no A/C and in the middle of winter people are wearing tank tops and shorts and the new owners don't want to provide any pitchers of water and most recently removed the plug-in fans. The prices have gone up 3 fold and there is no longer any hot food. The new no hat policy is bizarre and stringently enforced. 2 of my friends were chased around the being asked to remove there hats repeatedly, while they were bowling! One night they even tried to kick us out while we were in the middle league play. It took forever because the lanes kept breaking down! All the construction is to make it look classy but its not - its still a bowling alley and its still in Port Authority, not Rockefeller Center.

Response from this business:

New Renovations It has taken us some time, but we have a completely new facility. Everything down to the plush ladies lounge has been redone. I invite you to come back and try our new facility and let our staff know what you think. Especially with our new Bistro and Bar. We are serving New American cuisineā?¦ And I can promise you the Bistro food is not what you would expect in a Bowling Lounge!

I've been to Leisure Time Bowling Center Pro Shop a couple of times and really had a good time! I'm not really into bowling, but I enjoyed myself over here. It was inexpensive and a good time, what most people are looking for. The place itself is very clean and modernized, making the experience even more pleasant. I suggest checking it out.

This bowling alley is subpar. On days when I arrive more than twenty minutes early for a bus, I stop by here to bowl a game since my bus is also on the second floor. It takes me around fifteen minutes to bowl a game. While it probably is not worth the price, I have improved my game around an average of 100 points. I bowl an average of 230 now. I think a few more months and I can turn professional. A lot of their customer are from corporate outings. The food here is terrible. I would recommend you get your food elsewhere.

Conveniently located in the HEART of Times Square where everything comes alive. This is a fun way to spend time with friends and bring on some good old fashioned competition, in a friendly way of course.

PROS: Close to all
CONS:

Unlike the last person, I didn't think the price is expensive at all. $7 per game and $4 rental shoe is NOT expensive. This is the cheapest price in the city and lots of lanes. A movie alone cost $10. I didn't like the fact that they already had people coming into my lane when I've not finished tying my shoes and gathering my stuff. But of course, time is $. I had a great time. Drinks were $5 and there's food!!!

PROS: inexpensive, security guard, good music
CONS: balls are too greasy, too dark in bathroom

I like to bowl and Leisure Time Bowl is a decent bowling facility. Located on the second floor of the Port Authority this is a nice clean place to knock pins down. Grab a snack somewhere else in the building as the food is pretty poor and then grab a lane.

PROS: Clean fun
CONS: mediocre food

Located in the Port Authority Building Leisure Time Bowl used to be a rundown dump but has been spiffied up and is now a nice clean place to have fun. Decent food and a decent crowd and there usually isn't a wait for a lane. Of course if you plan to bowl and then hop a bus somewhere you'll probably have a nicer. mellower bus ride.

Unexpectedly located on the second floor of the Port Authority, Leisure Time Bowl is the cheaper alternative to bowling in Manhattan. Although a more unsavory crowd is present it is an excellent place for corporate events and to kill time while waiting for the bus.

Leisure Time Bowling is a great place in New York to bowl. The place is very well maintained and everything is clean. The bowling is fully computerized. It's cheaper than certain other places in Manhattan, including Chelsea Piers. You can either pay per game or by the hour. I've been there several times and never had any problems, and you can almost always get a lane. I highly recommended Leisure Time Bowling.

Located in the Port Authority Bus terminal a few years back this place was a real rat hole. As the building has been policed better and renovated places like Leisure Time have improved along with the facility. The lanes have been modernized and this has become a pretty decent game to bowl a few games. Less expensive than Bowlmor downtown and strangely enough you see the ocassional minor celebrity bowling here.

PROS: Fun place to bowl
CONS: Bad food
