The record store system in Nevada has been a steadily declining one. With Tower and Virgin gone, and even independent stores like Big B's closing down, there is now a serious void in Vegas when it comes to hunting down those rare albums, records, CDs, or whatever it is you collect as far as music goes.

This is it - the last true remaining record store in Las Vegas.

The selection at Zia is incredible. Used and new CDs spanning every genre are available here. And the prices for CDs, old used ones in particular are EXCELLENT. I've often gone into the store and gotten two used cds for less than ten dollars. The store even has a whole corner devoted to vinyl, and even discontinued formats like VHS and audio cassette.

It doesn't end with music. The store also has a fairly large DVD selection, along with a minor T-shirt and memorabilia selection. There's even a small video game section.

The store will buy your used CDs/Games/DVDs/etc., and from what I can tell they give you more money than most similar establishments.

The staff may look a bit odd at first glance, but they're awesome people who know how to treat their customers right. If you've ever gone into a Tower Records before, you'll know what to expect from the staff. Looks are deceiving - these are great people.

I only knocked a star off my rating for a single reason - the store does seem to discriminate when it comes to their hiring process. I interviewed at the store. The interview went GREAT and I even had an intelligent conversation with the manager. Yet I never heard from them again. It's clear the store tends to give jobs to friends of employees over people who are actually qualified (I had a year-and-a-half experience in record stores prior to applying.) But don't let this deter your opinion of the store.

Final verdict? AWESOME store. If you want to see how a record store should be run, this is a textbook example.

this is absolutely one of the very best music stores in Las Vegas, Nevada.

you can find just about anything you'd ever be searching for in there. the prices are more than reasonable, and the staff is helpful.

they also will special order an album for you if by chance it is not already in stock.

the store is well organized, with incredible selection of new/used Vinyl, CD, DVD, VHS, etc.

and I believe they are open for business during late morning until midnight!

PROS: easy to find location with plenty of parking.
CONS:

OH, Its about time. This is the best store in the world. Like their motto says its "the last real record store". Im from Phoenix, Az and I missed this store when I moved here. You can find EVERYTHING here. From Enigma to Marilyn Manson. And they are so cheap. Plus you can exchange your old cds for something newer. What took so long to get here?
