This lake is very dangerous for children. I was visiting with my 22 month old son. As he stood by the ledge to the lake, i held his hand. Then unexpectedly, he jumped as he threw a leaf. As there is a 2 foot drop, i was unable to hold him with such a sudden pull to my hand. He landed in the water, and i immediately jumped in after him. Upon landing my feet slipped out from under me. The ground is covered in thick slime. I slid past my son, and into deeper water. I tried to get to him but the bottom is to slick, so i swam in the shallow water, and got him into my arms. Upon dong this, we both started to slip down the steep slope which is under water, unable to climb up the slippery surface. I screamed for help, afraid i was going to slip past my head while holding him. My feet got a grip just as the water reached past my shoulders, and up to my mouth. I continued to yell "help" over and over again until someone heard us. No one was able to help as we were to far from shore to reach, and they would be faced with the same situation of not being able to carry the baby out of the water. (I tried to swim with him, but with jeans and a bag wihich i couldn't get off pulling me down, it was impossible.) Fortunately some park workers went and got a long pole and pulled us out. I am so shocked that the situation so quickly reached such a dangerous situation. I had NO IDEA we were in such danger as we watched the ducks and geese swim. I would never ever ever ever go back there again. To have my baby sinking under water and not be able to reach him is a situation i never want to be in again.

I was born here in Vegas. I'm fourteen, so coming from a younger kid, I love this park. My friends and I would meet up and hang out. I never once saw older kids destructing the park or anything. There are volleyball courts which are very fun for picnics. There's also a couple jungle gyms all around the park. The pond is alot of fun and a great place to think. Occasionally there's an ice cream truck, which is always nice. It's very grassy everywhere. I wouild definitely recommend this park to anybody living here, moving here, or just visiting here. And the airport is right by it. If you get in earlier than your hotel allows, get some fast food and eat it in the park(:

The Gift of Lights is a favorite tradition for our family. It makes you feel as if there should be snow on the ground all around you. This really helps you get the holiday spirit flowing, something that is a bit hard to come by in the desert at times! Grab the kids & go see it for yourself!

This is a great place to do an event or an activity. The park is clean and large with a large lake. There is a doggie area at end of the park. There is never a problem with parking.

In my experience this is a great park for a lot of things but their dog park section leaves a lot to be desires. It is very territoral and the dogs are more aggressive. I prefer Dog Fancier's Park. So do my dogs.

This park is very nice. It has a track, dog park, and a huge lake. The lake is filled with ducks. Its fun to go feed them. The lake is so pretty. Theres a very pretty island in the middle of the lake. The park is home to the Renaissance Fair. Its fun. The park is right across the street from McCarren airport. There are a couple benches, troughout the park, that are semi secluded. Also, around Xmas time. They have the festival of lights. They put lights all over the park and, for a fee, you can drive through and look. Its very pretty.
