Now that I am about to move my files to a new doctor in Bloomington, Indiana, I wanted to say goodbye and thank you for your advice and help over the last seven years. I guess you probably receive lots of accolades from your patients, but I feel I should add my voice as well.

I cant help but recall my first visit to your office. I waited about an hour to see you with much umbrage and was told by your secretary that you spend a lot of time with your patients which I absorbed with some doubt. Having a medical history that gave me more experience than I would have wished, I have developed a large amount of cynicism regarding the medical profession and more than one personal horror story. Admittedly, it is not all doctors faults.

But your secretary was just stating a fact. Regardless of the changing politics of the practice of medicine, the thing I most appreciated about your help was I felt you were there for me and would do your best for me, sacrificing your own time and relaxation to be of assistance were I to be in need. It seems like this would be an essential quality for a medical doctor, yet it is so rare today when compassion has been squeezed out of the new time-clock-insurance-driven world of healthcare. Your awareness of this recent paradigm, healthcare-by-insurance-carrier, was not a hidden puppeteer pulling your strings to choose this or that protocol. I am sure you made more than one professional choice to not dance to this other tune for your personal benefit over your patients well-beings.

You were not one to throw a pill at a problem, and I especially appreciate your care in not jumping on whatever new fix had just made the evening ads from the pharmaceutical industry. You were trusting and respectful of my ideas and input, and all-sided in your approach to health, understanding yet not blaming the role our lifestyles can play in improving our lives.

I also remember being surprised, and pleased, when you first asked me how my life was going. You understood that health problems were part of a bigger picture, and I believe it is this method of refusing to reduce healthcare to eliminating symptoms that make you the treasured physician you are. Often your first suggestion, rather than a magic bullet, was to discuss possible lifestyle changes or options other than the drugswith unknown track records and side effects. It wasnt that you always did what I considered right or never made a mistakeand I am a cranky-hard nosed patientbut I knew I would not find a better expert with whom to collaborate regarding my health.

By the way, more than one specialist I was referred to by you asked me what I thought of you: they had heard many patients sing your praises and were curious to learn about this doctor who was so loved.

I wish you well, envy your patients, and again I am grateful I didnt stomp out of that first appointment!

i 100% agree with the first review on this doctor! ive never met a doctor who listens so well. she goes out of her way to get to know u as a person not just a chart. nothing is overlooked with your health. youll never have to worry about any issues u have being ignored. i would recommend her to anyone!!

Dr. Anthony has been my doctor for several years and I have to say that she is quite a wonderul doctor and person. She is very professional and quite knowledgeable of her field which is general practice. She's a good listener and takes the time to access any problems you may be having with your health. Her staff are also friendly, courteous and efficient. Her office is located in a medical building that has plenty of parking space.
