The Abraham Lincoln High School, located in the heart of the Russian neighborhood, has somehow over the years evolved into an important hub of Russian culture. Most of the time it's just a school like any other: the students use the auditorium for their school plays, presentations, meetings and other school-related things. But every once in a while, a Russian rock group like Alisa or the DDT rolls into town, or a small chamber theater brings its new play, and the place is transformed into a theater!

The look of it doesn't change much. There's usually very sparse decoration there, and even during a rock concert it looks exactly like what it is: a school auditorium. But that doesn't matter: the sound is absolutely terrific, the prices are usually pretty good for a Russian performance (niche foreigh performers can always afford to charge higher prices than their local counterparts), and the floor slopes gently to give everyone a great view of the stage no matter where the seat is.

Somehow, the high school look of the place gives it a more fun atmosphere, and people in the audience are more open to interacting and making friends with those around them. The space looks visually open, and feels emotionally open.

PROS: Great sound, sloping seating, great atmosphere
CONS: Looks like a high school auditorium even during plays and concerts
