The Nederlander Theater, another in the long line of classic Broadway theaters that have been heavily featured in movies about New York, is home to the long-running famous musical Rent. It looks just posh and comfortable enough without seeming overblown and imposing; its employees (some of them volunteers) are polite and mostly work there because they love theater.
As any musical, Rent places high demands on the sound system, and the venue doesn't disappoint. All the old Broadway theaters have been built with the eye towards acoustics, so even without a sound system the place works great with music and dialog. The sound system adds to that, and is never too loud or annoying.
Prices are typical Broadway. There are three pricing levels, and even the cheapest level is still close enough to the stage that you can appreciate the performance.
PROS: Great sound, comfortable, polite employees
CONS: Expensive as anything else on Broadway
