Azul Day Spa

Don't go
by A W.
I was given a massage at Azul for a birthday gift and just went to have the treatment. I was shocked at how dirty the space was. The massage I received was OK but the environment is not pleasant. There aren't really massage rooms at this spa but areas divided by (dirty) curtains. When I took off my sandals the floor was gritty under my feet. As I looked through the head rest as I got on the table I was looking at a dirty worn rug with dust balls scattered around.
I think the day for this spa is over. No money or care has been paid to the space for some time. The towels were frayed, the concrete floor in the shower was disintegrating making it sandy feeling with the rebar starting to show - really.
So, if you want to pamper yourself, go elsewhere.

Give Azul a try
by Liz O.
I have been visiting Azul spa for years. I understand the mixed reviews on this site. Yes, it is not the most luxurious spa, and I've had a couple of treatment providers (one for a facial and one for a scrub) who were not the best. HOWEVER, at least a couple of the treatment providers are excellent (Sonia for massages and Phong for pedicures), and I have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. And compared to many day spas, the prices - especially for massage - are very reasonable.

Avoid Azul Spa in Berkeley
by alex j.
Having frequented many spas in my day I have to say that Azul Spa is the worst. Besides the peeling and bubbling paint on the ceiling, the dirty, torn chair covers and the portable foot bath, the manager of this spa is very unprofessional and rude and on this alone I would not recommend this Spa. The services I received were mediocre at best and overpriced for what the end result was. Avoid this place and try the new spa down the street, Joi.

Azul has a very stylish main room with beautiful music and deep chairs. Use the steam room before or after (or between) your treatments, drink the cranberry juice or cucumber flavored water. The whole ambience is relaxing, even before your treatment begins. The prices are reasonable, especially for the area. I had one overly chatty masseuse, but that is the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars. Otherwise it was very professional.

Azul Day Spa is an enjoable place to go to when you need to get into that mood. They do hair removals, sell beauty products, and of course day spa for your need. Their prices are somewhat average but it is worth the price to go here. I really like how nice and talkative they are like they make you feel very comfortable when you are there. This is why i really like this spa.

When you enter the doors of Azul spa it's like you are in another world. Calm, relaxing music plays in the background and soothing lighting compliment the waiting area. Weather you are getting a full service massage or a quick thirty minute massage on your lunch break the Azul experience is one you'll never forget.
The masseuses are trained to pay attention to their clients body reactions so you wont get a massage that leaves you sore or achy.
They have competitive pricing for all services.

Enter Azul's quiet space and feel the tension begin to dissipate immediately. Wonderful fragrances soothe those frazzled nerves and a sense of calm overtakes you. They offer a variety of services including facials, wraps, treatments, massage. I have never left Azul without feeling pampered and so smart for choosing such a great place. One caution during the week is to allow enough time to find street parking. Sunday appointments are great (non-metered parking).

I've used Azul Day Spa many times and enjoyed it. I've also given gift certificates to others, and they've loved it too. The people are friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. I got prenatal massages every month from Karen. she is fantastic...very intuitive. She also has one of those mats that allows pregnant women to lie on their stomachs. I have also had non-pregnancy massages there from her and she is still fantastic. The amenities were very nice with a great steam bath and private showers.
PROS: Open rooms divided by curtains so you can hear other's
