Poor Service, ghetto service reps, fix their mistakes at your cost, lack of follow up, liars, unable to back their reasons up... RUN.. Do not use this credit union....

I have been with APGFCU for 18 years, I had loans with them, I had IRA's invested with them, I had a Visa card with them just as long. About 2 years ago, I ran into trouble with the failing economy, unfortunetly I had to claim bankruptcy and they had a small charged off loan. The loan itself was less then they have made off of me in the years I have had my account with them.
I called on 10/25/12 to order new checks and was advised I would not be able to because of the charged off loan. When I asked for an explination I was transfered to a Gwendolyn who in a very GHETTO manner advised me my account was being closed due to the charge off. I asked her where is this policy indicated and why was my account left open for 16 months after the bankruptcy following, why did APGFCU accept a deposit the day before and why now that I am ordering checks are you deciding to close my account. Her response was that its in my "aggreement" and as far as the other reasons, she has no idea. I asked her to send me the agreement and she told me to call my lawyers office. I then asked for her supervisor, who she then transfered me to Dianne, Dianne was not as rude and ghetto as Gwendolyn, but advised me of the same thing, without any explination or supporting documentation, I asked Dianne for her supervisor and she told me that she was out of the office and I would have to call back at a later date and to come get my money. Dianne then hung up. I called back, had to go through the call center again and when I finally got back to the right department. Guess who I got!!! Ghetto Gwendolyn. but this time she used her last name, and when I said I spoke to her just a few minutes ago, she says I talk to a lot of people, I never talked to you. After bringing up my record again, she replies, I am not going through this #$%@# with you again and throws me into a supervisor voice mail (remember the supervisor is out of the office). I then called back to the call center and asked for a supervisor. Guess who I was transfered to!!! Ms Greene, the charge off supvervisor who was not there today! I explained to Ms Greene this situation, asked for a copy of the agreement, when the rule went into effect, and asked to be justified why they are closing my account after 16 months. I also advised her that if they were to close my account then it should have been done right after the bankruptcy, not after I conitnued to use the account, they accepted deposits, and continued to service the account. Could this be an act of discrimination?

I just think this is poor service when the account reps are improperly trained, can't support what they are telling peolpe, and APGFCU fixes their mistake after 16 months!

There are so many banks and credit unions out there with much better service, better technology and better rates, I live out of state, and the only reason I wanted the account was because I have had it for so long. But I can do better elsewhere. As of this morning, my account showed a transfer to my savings that I did not authorize, hope that Echeck that went out clears!!! and I have not heard back from Ms Greene. Guess I have to waste my time calling them again today.

This is the best financial institution we have ever dealt with. The employees are friendly and courteous. We have had a mortgage, line of credit, equity loan and a credit card with them and all have been extremely satisfactory. A special kudos to Dawn Faircloth, manager at Laurel Bush and her assistant Chris. Both are very professional while being extremely friendly and understanding. They are the BEST!!!

Very disgusted with APGFCU. They incorrectly wrote my VISA platinum off as a "Charge off loan". I found this out when I went to use my VISA and was denied. Was never late with a payment and usually pay off the balance each month in full. They admitted they made a mistake. They are so sorry. It has now hit my credit reports after they promised it wouldn't. Now they tell me to wait a month and check and it will be gone. Only a timing problem..Who is in charge here? Cannot find anyone to be accountable. I shouldn't have to be the one doing all the work to correct their mistake.....hate this place...they have made my life miserable.

Very poor service. They are very quick to add on charges and not notify you about them, then adding on more and more charges until they drain your account!

Do not try to contact them by email either, as they will delay answering you, thus allowing for more and more charges to be debited from your account! Intresting that when you send them an email on their internal site, and go back a day or two later to look at it, there is no record of the email being sent! Really, it happened to me!

Just like most blood sucking credit card companies and banks, they will 'fee' you to death so they can make a profit.

I am switching to USAA for all of my banking needs. They are responsive and do not charge unreasonable fees.

This location is always friendly and offers longer hours for banking. Their interest rates are higher than those of other chain banks. Loan rates are much better as well.

PROS: Great interest rates!
CONS: Drive-thru lines often very busy

They offer great service and have several branches in the county. They are very professional, inspiring confidence. They have a full range of services including loans, credit cards, checking and savings accounts. They give a finders fee for referrals who open accounts with them. Their interest rate on loans is better than those of commercial banks.

Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union's new branch in the Amyclae shopping center is typical of an APGFCU branch. The tellers are friendly and nice, and there are never any lines.
