I have gone to DTE many times and have seen some great shows. However their customer service at the front gates is horrible! We were allowed to bring in a blanket, but we were NOT allowed to return when it started raining. Apparently you can not go to your car at all once you have entered the gates. My friend left her id in the car, not thinking she would be carded, and she was not allowed to go get it! Rude and horribly communicative customer service at this venue, however the shows are great!

Saw some GREAT bands at this venue last night (Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, and Chester Friench). THEY were great.
EPIC FAIL (yet again) on the part of event and facilities management. Looking at the web site before hand...beach chairs? check. Blankets? check. Picnic basket? check. Beach umbrella? Nope, not allowed. OK we'll leave it at home.
We get there, stand in an interminable line to get in and as we near the front of the line are told "NOPE, can't have chairs, blankets, umbrellas". Trudge back to the car and deposit them AFTER reading the small print sign posted at the front of the line telling of the "banned objects", which do NOT mention flashlights (nice to be able to see with when leaving). Back through the line and "you can't take those in". "Why not?" "Because! You can take them back to your car." I then asked who I could write to or contact about this and NO ONE KNEW or CARED. Palace Management/DTE - you need better communication (e.g. on the website!) about what is and isn't allowed in for each event. Hit or miss results in pissed off customers. I will NOT be back - eight concerts each has left a bad taste in my mouth for this venue.

Saw Rod Stewart 8/6/2008. Rod Stewart's performance was outstanding! DTE Music Theater was NOT. Traffic was altered by construction; parking was impossible taking over an hour to get INTO the lot. Fans were treated poorly by DTE employees. Had pavilion tickets and was not allowed to enter because I was not entering at the correct isle. My husband ignored rude attendant, walked in, cut across 2 rows and was in our seats in less than a minute. I followed the attendant??s instructions and could not get through the crowd of bag pipes, wheel chairs, and other pavilion and lawn fans. It took me another 30 minutes to get to my seat and numerous apologies to people for poking them with a pizza box I was trying to carry. Next time, Rod, PLEASE pick a different venue. Will never go back to DTE again!

DTE is an outdoor theater venue that has concerts all summer. Outdoor seating provides laid back atmosphere with large screens and loud speakers so you dont miss a thing. Take a blanket and enjoy the show.

This is a great place in the summer for a concert. You can sit in the grass and enjoy a nice ice cold lemonade and have a great time with your friends. There is always a variety of different bands that play here and I always enjoy myself when I am there.

of concerts here over the years and it is a pretty good outdoor ampitheatre. They get great acts including rock and oldies. I have sta in the pavillion and lawn. Once there ws a problem with some people in front of us and it was hard to get security to stop the disruption. Also there is no limit to the drinks so the folks do get really rowdy. The parking is good although a bit costly. Tickets as for any concert cost alot. But, overall I would recommend going for concerts.

PROS: good place!!

I saw Sarah Brightman here a while ago, and I said that was the last time I would ever go back there. She started singing extremely late, because she didn't find the mood/atmosphere to her liking. She wanted to wait until the sun set (since the concert was held outside). In the meantime, they had some small quartet play music onstage hoping that we would just sit and enjoy until she was ready. I understand some things are out of the venue's control, but they really were not very helpful for instructions on getting your refund, or anything. They did little to explain what happened or why the delay, I had to ask an usher. Finally when she did get on stage she sang for about 20 minutes then had the gall to have an intermission. She then came on and sang another 20 minutes and called it a night. For the price that we paid to see this ridiculous show, you would think we would have gotten more out of it. That night, I sent a letter to DTE trying to get answers and explain my upset. I never heard from them, no apology, no explanation.

DTE Energy Music Theater is a great place to go if you're looking for some live entertainment during the summer. DTE gets some of the bigger performers to come to Michigan...and you can have your choice of tickets at different prices by either purchasing the more expensive tickets in the pavillion...or choosing the seats on the lawn if you're looking to pay a bit less. DTE Energy Music Theater is the place everyone goes in the Detroit area for the best concerts coming to town. Just be prepared to bring either a lawn chair or something to sit on...cause sitting directly on the ground is not very comfortable. Also you better hope it doesn't rain.

This is a wonderful outdoor music theater. Not only do they have lots of lawn seating, but they also have a huge covered pavillion. The grounds are nice, and well taken care of. The only issue is with parking - its a little difficult to get in and out and they usually take you on a long dirt road that eventually leads to the highway, but always be prepared for waiting in the parking lot to get out. Sound quality is good as well. Ticket prices are based on the performer and where you want to sit, but usually the going rate.

DTE will always be Pine Knob to me. But that's beside the point. This is a great place to see a concert because you have so many seating options. There isn't a bad seat anywhere in the pavilion and on the grass you can be as close or far away from those around you as you want. Lawn seating, which is first come first served, isn't particularly comfortable because you're sitting on the grass but it's tolerable and if you're seeing your favourite band in concert are you really going to be seated for that? Besides the lawn seats are privy to the three 9 X 12 video screens and the two giant screens that are located on either side of the stage. I've never had a bad experience seeing a concert there. The sound is always great as is the lighting. The food and drink selections are pretty good too. My only gripe is the price of concert tickets to the bands I want to see is really expensive but then they're pretty popular right now so that's to be expected. Pine Knob, oops, DTE, also pass out a TON of vouchers for the lesser popular bands they book. For those, I believe, you only have to pay the $3 "parking" fee (which is per person now, not per car like it used to be) and then you are allowed a lawn seat. Now that's a great inexpensive way to see some of your old favourite bands.

PROS: They book 70 to 80 events every summer (they're open May to September).
CONS: The food and drinks are a little higher priced but it's to be expected at a
