The food was great. Got the sample platter, all the meat was fantastic. Also got the baklava pie for dessert, a must try.

Cozy and simple, this Mediterranean restaurant knows how to take care of patrons. Its care is evident in tasty dishes and expert service. I recommend you to start with an appetizer Kibbe. Then, indulge in a salad or seafood creation. End with a serving of baklava, and you'll be 100% satisfied!

By one readers comments he noticed the difference between Houston and Dallas. Houston tends to have more authentic international foods than Dallas because they are a port city tending to be more international. Fadis Frisco I would say is quite good even though the Houston Fadis might be better.

So what is Mediterranean food? Well it encompasses about 2 dozen countries Albania, Algeria, Corsica, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, French Riviera, Gibraltar, Greece, Israel, Italy Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Monaco, Morocco, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey....whew!

While Fadis doesn't claim to have food from each, they do have some typical dishes that the region swears each food came from their country. Take for instance Dolma's. It is a grape leave wrapped rice thing that I always thought was from Italy and come to find out it's Turkish. Yes Fadis has stuffed grape leaves.

The best way to find out what you like and don't like is to try the Fadis sampler (be prepared and be hungry). Just tell them a little of everything and you can pick what things you like. You will find:
Hummos- think of it as a bean dip made out of garbanzo beans
Fried Cauliflower
Falafel -think Mediterranean hush puppy
Gyro -think Mediterranean meatloaf
Babaganu-think dip made out of grilled and smoked eggplant even if you don't like eggplant you probably will like babaganu
Tabuleh-think grits with flavor (cracked wheat, parsley, dill, scallions, tomatoes, pickles, olive oil)
Stuffed grape leaves - Sarma - we Italians call it Dolma's...lol think Mediterranean baby tamales

There are many, many more items available and the flavors are wonderful and healthy. As you can see from the list most are vegetarian, but you do get to choose a meat. I always pick the Lamb because they know how to cook it.

Have a great meal!

Fadi's is a local Mediterranean restaurant chain that started in Houston, Texas. As someone who has eaten (and loved) the Fadi's in Houston, I feel this Preston Road location is not up to par. The taste is not the same. Several of my friends who have eaten at both locations agree.

The salads were excellent, but everything else I ordered was terribly bland. My friend ordered the lamb and said the gravy tasted like pot roast gravy from a jar!

If you want the true Fadi's experience, go to the Houston branch on Westheimer and try out the real thing!!! The taste difference will astound you!

My friend took me to Fadi's. I wasn't sure I'd like it..boy was I amazed. Everything tastes great. The salad is delicious. Roasted chicken - yum! Red potatoes - very tender. The pita bread - let's just say you haven't had pita bread till you have Fadi's homemade pita bread. Get it when it's warm and you will melt!!!!

If only I could get my hubby to try it!!!

PROS: variety of selections, large portions, great pita bread
CONS: slighty high prices

Fadi's has the best Greek Food. For a while I thought I was in some Mediterranean place. They serve gyros, Kabobs etc.
Their salads are also pretty tasty.
Overall I think it is a good Saturday night out for families.

Fadi's Greek food is amazing. They have a wide variety of items served buffet style. The servers are helpful in choosing items to try. There are many vegetarian options but plenty of meat as well. I recommend any of the sampler platters for the first time visitor. Be sure get at least one order of the falafel. The atmosphere is fantastic!
