Economy is a great company. They are very reliable and have great rates. I love the twice a week pick up and the once a week yard waste pick up. The crew is very friendly and have gone out of their way to pick up my trash, especially on those days where I forgot it and am running down the driveway.

The only reason I give this company 1 star is there is not an option to give negative. 3 straight weeks with no garbage pickup despite repeated phone calls ending with a promise to "get it picked up today"
Well today I went to there office in person and was promised someone would be by to empty my now severely overflowing trash cans. You guessed it. No body showed. And I am told I can't get a refund. I suppose the owner has never heard of contract law. Payment made 3 months in advance and no service, Stay away from this shyster. I am convinced the one glowing review was written by the owner.

Where to begin....

Called and signed up for service in late February. Was to have received the can two days later, which would have been the day before the first pickup. Can was delivered 5 days later, causing me to miss two pick up dates. The can was finally received, only to have the truck pass by my house on 2 of the next 3 pickup dates. In all, we missed 4 of the 5 pickup dates, despite my having paid for it.

I was billed up front for the first quarter of service (not a problem), which was to have covered March 1 - May 31, only to be billed again two days later. I called in and they issued a credit back.

All was fine until I was reviewing my checkbook register in late May and found that I had been billed again in mid April. Since it was only two weeks prior to my June 1 due date, I called in and let them know that I had been billed in error but that it was OK as long as they didn't bill me for June 1. At this point, I should have been paid up until September 1.

July 14, I get billed YET AGAIN! A full 1-1/2 months before I'm even due! To say this is getting old is the understatement of the year.

If you are considering using this company - DON'T. You may spend a few dollars more per quarter using another company but in the end it will be worth it.

Do NOT choose this company!! They are late picking up your trash. No one returns your phone calls. When I finally got completely feed up with their awful service I canceled. Their trash can has been sitting in the road in front of my house for over 3 weeks. I have left them 3 messages no one has ever returned any of my phone calls. On my fourth phone call I finally spoke to a very unprofessional employee I told her that it looked very tacky for their trash can to be sitting in the road for over 3 weeks she said ??oh well it??s just going to have to continue to look tacky until we can get to it??.WHAT?! Are you kidding me? STAY AWAY FROM ECONOMY!! There are too many other reputable trash companies in the area to settle with poor service.

On numerous of occasions we had to call and request for our waste to be picked up. Recently, during the week of July 4, 2011, we did not receive services. We called the office and left several messages, never to have our calls returned. The following week, only waste that was in trash bags was picked up and we pay extra to have our yard waste disposed. About 3 months ago, we were told that the truck was broke down; however, a service order was submitted for services. We assume the truck is still broke down since we have witnessed men physically dumping the trash cans into the trash truck. We actually visited the office and were told that we could not cancel our services because a new quarter has started. In addition, we were given a disconnected telephone number to a field manager. I DO NOT recommend this company. You pay for what you get ... cheap prices ... cheap services.

THE WORST! Stay away at all costs. If you are new to the area, do not be seduced by the lower rates. They are lower because the service is so poor, it is the only way to get customers. They are now capraciously changing their rules and no longer pick up yard waste. Wish I had know that before I bagged my lawn and set it by the curb. dont know what I will do with it now. Good luck on getting someone to call you back. It never happens. Lastly, If you decide to go with this company, dont be suprised when your "garbage truck" consists of two guys in a pick up truck.

As a customer, I first deserve the right to get a call back with an explanation after the 2nd call/message, secondly, customers do deserve the right to previously be notified of any rate changes before the bill shows up with higher rates. I am currently looking for another trash service, and I will cancel my account with them shortly. This is not how you appreciate customers who promptly make their payments

STAY AWAY from this company! They do not do what they promise and are paid for. They never credit for missed pick-ups, they accuse us of not putting the trash out the night before (essencially calling us liars) and still haven't picked up their can a month after cancellation of services.

I have had Economy Sanitation now for just over a week. My garbage has not yet been picked up either week. Calls to the office are not answered or returned. DO NOT USE. I am contacting the BBB today about this company.

We are military so we got Economy Sanitation for our garbage when we moved here b/c of the savings. It isn't worth it. They didn't bring our trashcan when they said they would. When they finally did answer the phone, the lady said it was b/c I didn't pay, but she never told us that when we signed up. We lived in another state when we chose them and when we came with the Uhaul there was no trashcan. They said they'd come the next day but no one came to bring us a can for 4 days. Then they didn't pick it up until late in the afternoon on pick up day. The ladies (a mother and two daughters) in the office are LIARS! They tell people lies about the trucks being in accidents, having DOT inspections and other stuff. The driver of one truck is really nice, but the office staff isn't. I wanted to end my contract and the lady, Etta, said it would be $70 plus what I already paid for 3 months. I complained to the BBB. They were supposed to end my contract without futher payment as of 11/29, but they still haven't picked up their trash can. They were supposed to have recycling but that hasn't happened. Their trucks don't have arms, so if your stuff isn't in a bag, it doesn't get picked up. This company is a joke, go somewhere else!!!!

I have had service for about two years and this company goes out of there way to pick up all of my trash, even if I have extra. I have seen this local business owner not have the big trucks to pick up the bins so these two little men pick up the big trash container themselves.

We have had them for about a year now and we pay for pickups twice a week. At least twice a month they will miss pickup days for us, and we make a complaint to ensure we get a refund for that day. The problem is that they only have a vm box, and the box is usually full. When we finally get through the voicemail and get a call back they state that we can't get a refund since we didn't report it soon enough. This past week has been the last straw for us. Our trash didn't get picked up Tuesday and we made a complaint and was told that either way they would pick it up Friday. Duh! That's because we pay for Fridays as well. Well, they didn't come Friday and we called and was told after she was stumbling over her words that they were just running late. It is now 11pm and my trash is still sitting outside and can't get through to their voicemail because once again it is full. We will be cancelling as soon as we can get a hold of them as well as the neighbors in my neighborhood that did not get service all week as well.

This garbage service offers a good price for 2 day/week pick-up, but you cannot always rely on them to pick up your garbage when they are supposed to. It is also very difficult to get anyone to answer the phone - other than the answering
