Let me first say that Dr. Mason Is the most amazing doctor you will ever meet. He Is kind, caring, knowledgable, and just a wonderful person! My journey began back In 2006 when my husband and I decided to try for a baby. We had no luck getting pregnant so my current obgyn at the time prescribed me clomid. We got pregnant and miscarried, she gave me more clomid,we got pregnant again and miscarried. She then found out I had a blood clot disorder and sent me to a one time visit with Dr. Mason and he prescribed me lovenox for that disorder. When I met him I Immediately wanted him to be my doctor,he had a way at putting me at ease. When I returned to my obgyn she said I couldnt go see him permanently because he Is a high risk dr and I'm not high risk. I'm not high risk? Two losses wasnt enough. I then switched ob's and the hubby and me took a break on baby making. In 2010 I got pregnant on my own unexpectedly! No clomid needed! I went to my new ob and I told her about my past two losses and how scared I was but she didnt seem to concerned. I was terrified the entire pregnancy, she didnt even think I needed to be on lovenox so she let me have another one time visit with Dr. Mason to make sure he still thought lovenox was a good Idea. I went to him for that second time and REALLY wanted to stay as his patient. But again when I went back to my ob she said I wasnt high risk and I would have to have three losses to be considered high risk. Well weeks later i finally had that third loss.
Devastated. Now this year In April 2011 I got pregnant again on my own and this time made an appt with Dr. Mason and when I told him what my ob's told me that I had to suffer 3 losses to come see him he thought that was crazy! If only I wouldnt of been so shy the 2 times I had came to see him and told him I wanted him for my doctor he would of told me I could of been his patient! So now to the good part...he monitored this pregnancy and checked me out way more often then my other doctors did,he showed compassion and he really cared. I felt safe, something I had never felt In any pregnancy. I did have to have an emergency c-section and deliver early because I developed preeclampsia. But my baby boy Is here! He wasnt another loss! He's In the nicu and Dr. Mason amazed me yet again by coming to check In on him twice a week. He really cares for his patients and there babies. That really helps me because the nicu Is a tough place for a baby to be and for a mother to be. Dr. Mason makes me feel not so alone. It feels like were kind of going through this together. He Is my hero. He by far Is the best high risk doctor a woman could ask for.

I am writing this on behalf of the fathers out there. You and your wife will love Dr. Mason. We were lucky to have Dr. Mason throughout the pregnancy as my wife's primary doctor. He is the BEST bar none at what he does. Dr. Mason is extremely knowledgeable in his field, and appears to know everything else you may have questions about. His "bedside" manner is incredible. He will make the worst situation better, and calm and comfort everyone in the room. His staff is excellent as well. If you are fortunate enough to get Dr. Mason, you will be in the best hands out there.

Dr. Mason is the best high-risk OB! If it were not for him and his excellent care, we would not have our 2 beautiful daughters. I met Dr. Mason during the lowest point in my life, a few months after we lost our first daughter. I thought we would never be able to have children. He diagnosed me just by reading my medical records! Dr. Mason is a compassionate, brilliant doctor and a wonderful man. If you are high-risk, he is the doctor to see!

After experiencing a miscarriage and then a preterm delivery at 25 weeks in 2003, my dh and I decided to get a consult to see if we could avoid this in future pregnancies. While we learned a few things from the 2nd OB I consulted with, I didn't learn much. I became pregnant again and had complications. By the grace of God he was the OB on call that day. Once he saw my chart, he knew exactly what was wrong with me, explained what his care plan would be and I changed docs right then. While that pregnancy couldn't be saved, under his care we have had two other successful pregnancies (2007, 09). He always answers my questions and is very sensitive when I'm hormonal and overly worried due to our first experience (under a different OB). If you're looking for a caring, highly competent OB and in need of specialized care, this is the man for you. And in response to the previous post, parking at the hospital is now FREE.

Dr. Mason is the best doctor ever! He delivered my first son July of 05 and I am currently seeing him for my second pregnancy. He is very reassuring and calm. He has all the answers to any question you may have. I don't know how the guy gets any sleep or time off because everyone I talk to who is "high risk" sees Dr. Mason!

I have a rare medical condition that I have been suffering from and misdiagnosed since a teenager. He looked at my history, knew exactly what it was, how to treat it effectively and safely, and most importantly how to keep my kids healthy during pregnancy and birth.
Dr. Mason is the kind of doctor that makes you sad he only handles pregnancies-otherwise I would never need another doctor.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Mason and the staff. The entire office is wonderful. I agree wtih the other person who reviewed that says the they are welcoming and you never feel rushed. You don't ever feel that your question or concern is minor. I had my son, with the close monitoring of Dr. Mason, in June 2004.

Very, very capable doctor and staff at this location. They specialize in high risk pregnancies. Dr. Mason is also a trained surgeon so he has experience with emergencies. The staff is accomodating and very nice. The doctors listen to women, acknowledging their concerns and fears, as well as helping through them with offering up helpful advice. There is no condescending tone here, nor is there any rush to get a patient out of the office so they can move on to the next patient. They take their time and welcome any questions you may have.

This practice is located at St. John Hospital so there is plenty of parking; however, you need to pay for it. It is $2 to park in the back of the hospital or $4 to use the Valet. Usually, they give a parking voucher to cover the cost but not sure if they still do this.
