.

Where I live, there are a number of propane gas companies you can contract with for heating service. I got hooked up with Ferrellgas at the recommendation of my builder, who wasn't that great either. From the start, there were problems with getting the tank installed on time and being overcharged for installation. I was quoted one price for gas and billed another for my initial fill. I had to fight and then compromise on these issues. They have repeatedly come out to deliver gas late in the spring, when I really didn't need it, just to get in that extra delivery at the winter's high prices. Now that I have two years' worth of usage data for myself, I plan to have them place me on a "will-call" basis. I recently wanted them to come and locate my propane line for me, so I could do some digging. Unlike "Miss Utility," which is always free, Ferrellgas wanted to charge me $90 to come "try" to locate it. I decided to go on my own memory of where it was installed. If I didn't already have their tank in my yard and didn't dread the experience and cost of switching to another company, I would most assuredly try someone else. On the bright side, through talking with friends, I think Ferrellgas actually has slightly lower gas prices than other companies, and the ladies who answer the phone at the office are always very nice.
