UMASS is a great public school. Within the first two years, the classes may be lecture style, but when you take upper level classes within your major, the classes are smaller (30 students). UMASS has its fair share of great, unforgetable professors but there are also some who are not so great. However, the dorms are fine - if you like grassy area, live in Northeast, if you never want to sleep - live in Southwest. I've had great experiences living in both areas though. The dining commons are huge with tons of food. Oh yeah, but don't forget to order Wings!

UMass is a huge school. Everyone's experience is going to be a little different, but overall, I think there's something for everyone there. From an acedemic prospective, there's tons to learn here and the price is right. From a fun prospective, well the town itself is pretty devoid of anything, so you're limited to bars and parties (which for most, is enough :) ). It's not the party school it once was, but there's plenty of good times to be had. There area is also host to TONS of great food.
