Bygone era
by Vicki N.
My first memories of Kirk's feed store date back to when I was a kid. My buddies and I would pedal our bicycles up Ambaum to Olde Burien and hit the penny candy shop across the street, then we would stop in to see chicks and bunnies at Kirk's. I'm happy that they're still in operation after so many decades and I still stop in for various products for my pets. Today I will get some rock salt from them for my frozen driveway. I always love going there!

Memories of Kirk's Feed
by Chuck K.
I was born in January 1963; my memories of the feed store dont go back quite that far. However I have been told by my parents that I was there shortly afterward. I do recall some very early memories of the feed store. My Grandfather was running the place back then, and I would always get to run around and look at all the interesting things. I remember the baby chicken, Ducks, and rabbits I always had fun watching them. I could look at them for hours. Then there was Queenie, she was a beautiful cat who always wanted to ride on your shoulder. Im sure she was a great mouser too. I dont recall ever seeing a mouse in the place. All to soon it seemed Queenie was replaced by her daughter Princess. As I recall, she was a lot more fun to play with, kittens usually are. In the back there is a hay barn. I would go back there just for the smell. Then there was the cabinet full of grains and seeds. The Cabinet was used to mix special bird seed, and feed for different kinds of animals. I loved running my hands through flax it was just neat. Later I got to help make the seed bags add a scoop of this two of that, and half of this. Presto parrot feed. *sigh* The good old days. The rustic surroundings, country smells, and the wonderful old things in the store, Kirks feed will always have a special place in my heart

Need something for your farm animals? Need something for your household pets? Just want to feed the birds? Kirk's Feed Store is the place to go!
Wether a farmer, or a pet owner, with many different types of feed for many different types of animals, the selection will surely contain something you need. In addition, if you are in the market for bunnies, chicks, or other small farm animals, Kirk's should be the first place you check.
In addition to feed and small animals, Kirk's also carries hay and other goods. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable!
The Kirk family has run the store since 1952, and you get a small town country feel in this family opperated business. There is always someone there who knows everything there is to know about livestock, poultry, feed and fertilizer.
I highly recommend Kirk's Feed.
PROS: Service, variety, inexpensive
CONS: none
