Hi, I recently moved to Bangalore from Florida. I evaluated few shipping companies and finally settled with Air 7 Seas as they were cost efficient and providing similar service as the other ones. It was for a full container with door to door option and I must say my experience has been satisfying. All the steps in the process went smoothly, right from picking my household goods in Florida, clearing customs in India and then finally receiving at my home in Bangalore. I do recommend this company especially because of one representative, Priya, who has been very helpful and prompt in her service and the care she has shown during the entire process.

Air7Seas is a dishonest and fraudulent company. They claim to be registered members of various professional freight forwarding associations such as FIATA, IATA, CNS, and FMC (Federal Maritime Commission). I've checked with at least FIATA and they inform me that Air7Seas was once a member, but was excluded from this organisation on 31 December 2000. The FIATA was shock to learn that Air7Seas was still claiming membership and using the FIATA logo illegally. Air7Seas also claims that its "Terms & Condition" are approved by the NCBFAA, but on contacting the NCBFAA they said Air7Seas has never been a member of that organisation and has not authority to claim that their "Terms & Conditions" are approved by the NCBFAA.

I really can't understand how or why the US authorities have allow this company to remain in business, or why the principals of this shonky company have not been sentenced to a long term in prison.

Any good comments found on this site or elsewhere on the Internet must have been written by members of Air7Seas or their family or friends (who'd want to be friends with people like these?). If anyone wants proof of what I have said, please just ask, and I'll post copies of the correspondence between myself and the various professional organsations.

Air7seas has a nice arrangement to quote the lowest and then charge you 25% higher at the time of delivery -
you either pay up or pay demurrage.

I needed to ship my goods from India to Ithaca NY in the US. I requested quotes and received the lowest quote from Woldstar shipping in India for at door at Ithaca NY. This needed a local agent in the USA they provided
me a quote for the US leg from air7seas. They quoted the price for the India leg at 4056$ and $1351 for
the US leg which were specifically mentioned as final.

All went well initially. The packing was done in India. despatched, payment made for the India leg on
submission of bill and the original B/L was handed over to me. On enquiry I was told that there was nothing
more to do except wait for the goods to reach US and air7seas will get in touch with us.

On arrival I contacted air7seas and was told that everything was in order and they sent me some papers to
sign which I did and sent back to them. They asked me to hold on to the B/L. I called every week to track
my shipment and checked with them if they needed anything else including the B/L. I even informed them that I had
to go from the country and all paper work etc muct be completed before I left.

Then on the 25th June at 5.00 p.m. - 26th and 27th being weekend I get an email in Palestine that my
goods will be delivered on Monday the 29th June and they must have the original B/L signed by me so that
they can do the needful. Obviously if I cannot do this, I will have to pay demurrage and associated penalties.
I managed that after going through some difficult times. As a company that claims to be in this business for
over 25 years did they not know that they need the B/L? SO why did they not complete that bit of paper work
until the last minute?

Along with the notice of delivery I get the invoice which has a $450 GRI on behalf of the India shippers.
I even did not know what GRI meant. The following irregularities are evident in that transaction:
1. There was no contract between me and air7seas regarding my affairs with worldstar shipping? Did they have
a right to bill me for a third party when Worldstar did not bill me for air7seas?
2. Any rate increase would have been when the goods were loaded in India - so what were they doing until
the goods arrived in the US? Why did they wait till the day before delivery to claim GRI?
3. Can a vendor claim increase in costs even after the client has been served with final invoice and
has paid that? Does the client's liability end on full payment or as long as the shipper holds goods
that they can use as ransom?
As far I know once an amount is claimed and paid in full and unless that payment is specifically mentioned
to be provisional no other demand can be made?

Worldstar shipping made a quotation of $1351, mentioned specifically as full and final for the US leg payable
to air7seas on completion of job. Yet, air7seas invoiced me for $1656 with no explanation as to why the invoice
was not equal to quotation. This again shows that air7seas is not a company that is true to its own quotations
or takes no steps to inform you if the final estimate has changed. Their profits lie in the last minute surprise
and ransom like demand when the client cannot go anywhere else. On what basis do they invoice you for a third
party claim when they do not stand by that third pary's quotation for them?

I needed unloading help and I was told that I will need 3 people for 3 hours to unload and unpack at my
house and the bill was $540 which I paid in advance. When the truck arrived there were no unloaders.
We had to wait three hours before the air7seas offices opened in the west coast. They then gave us a number
to call the unloaders. The unloaders told us that they had no confirmation of order from air7seas and only enquiry.
However, they could help us after they got free in 3 hours. Only two people came and finished the job in 2 hours
and did not uppack. They asked for $130 for the job as there was no contract with air7seas. For not doing their
job despite advance payment air7seas very kindly reimbursed us $246 with a final charge for the job at $294 which
they kept for not fulfilling a contract for which they had been paid in advance.
Is there a breach of contract, negligence and non-peformance? What is the penalty for this? They have a nice
business here - take advance payment, not perform and then refund half the amount. They get paid for doing nothing?

They are a company and have more resources than individuals and therefore take clients for aride, knowing that
individuals are not in a position to pursue such matters except at greater cost than the loss already incurred.
How can consumers be protected from such sharks? How does consumer right and grievance get redressed?
Is there a forum for this?

I moved from Edison, NJ to Mumbai in August 09. I was lucky enough to have found the folks at Air7Seas for my moving needs. The staff at Air7Seas were very courteous, very patient and professionals to the core. They walked me through the various documents, what to read, what to know before moving the stuff. They told me all the options that Air7Seas provided and never pressurized me to go with their service (unlike some of the other providers).

The guy who came to my door in NJ to pick up the stuff was a nice gentleman. They were very careful in taking the stuff into the truck.

There were no surprises throughout the process. It reached Mumbai in 6 weeks.

The staff at Mumbai were really nice, they delivered all my stuff at my doorstep. They did not charge me anything extra (other than the very small custom fee). They picked up my passport from my house, there was no need for me to go and talk to the customs guys.

All my stuff arrived in proper condition, nothing was damaged

I would recommend everybody planning to make an international move, to use their services.

One of the worse customer server and shipping serve I have ever seen. At first when I speak on the phone they quote me a lower price then when I got there. They told me that my product are very high on tax in vietnam but that was unreasonable because it only vitamin and clothes and I already speak with them on phone. Because it cost too much we have to remove some stuff and they don't even assist us in packing, such as giving as tape and scissor. After finish with everything, I asked them when the shipping will arrive and they told me Wednesday. It been Friday and we don't see the package and not even a phone call. I called them to ask about it and they told me that Taipei delay the shipping and that it arrive on wednesday so I should recieve my package on Friday. They did not even apologize and told me to call the person in vietnam that handler the package and hang up without saying bye.I won't recommend using air7seas to anyone.

I am not sure where to begin. We can start with the reassuring phone calls, "being that we are in the business for so many years you have no need to worry we will have your things brought door to door", but when shipping to Mexico there are all the concerns of paperwork, customs and delivery. And to that they responded "the next time you should hear from us is when we have the delivery truck heading to your home.

One of the reasons we chose Air7seas scam company, is because they assured me that they will handle it all from a to z. As it turns out once i paid them in full the close to $3000 they inform me that they can not deal with the customs because it is a very complicated process, but what am i to do now that my stuff are already in Mexico and i have no access to them, I am then told that for another several thousand dolors they can hire a customs agent for me to get my stuff moving to its final destination.

Now taking care of all the customs work was included in the first price that i had already paid, but they found the right candidate to scam, me that is, with very little knowledge of the system.

As soon as we can get an audio load on here, i will play a recorded conversation i had with the manager of the company where he tells me to bribe a customs agent, which could land me in jail. But there is a lot more coming.

Now three months after the guaranteed arrival date of my stuff, Air7seas has no apology, rather they are soliciting me for more money.

But we will not rest until every one of our items are handed over to us. We will soon include names of people that collaborated in this scam.

I had packed all my stuff and Air7 said a driver would come between 11 AM and 1 PM today. He was instructed by Air7 to call me when he was an hour away, which never happened until I called to see where the driver was at 1 PM and 2 PM. Driver was lost so I met him to follow me home. Once he packed my stuff in the van he was about to head off without giving me any paperwork of the transaction. This puzzled me so I photographed the license plate and called Air7 to confirm if this was the right guy. He was but it was very odd not being given paperwork to sign. I hope I don't have a horror story moving my stuff to Australia.

i have been using AIR 7 SEAS for a number of years, to the contrary I find them to be very helpful and my goods always arrived in excellent condition. As I understand the system the state side companies can only control the charges up to the destination port, then the land charges begin, but air7seas has no control over local trucking and duties etc. Therefore I cannot not agree with these negative reviews. This company is incompetent and down right scary. Although they have a B+ rating at the Better Business Bureau you can see that they also have 27 complaints over the last 36 months. They quote very low to draw you in, but then extra charges are added throughout and your goods are handled with incompetence and neglect. They quoted 8 hours of packing for my move, but are trying to charge me for 23. They also are charging me for $1250 in materials expenses, but I provided the bulk of the materials for less than $200 and they have not provide receipts or expenses to justify their costs. I visited their warehouse and found my goods in disarray, unlabeled, and it was difficult to tell what belonged to me and what belonged to other customers. It also appeared that they were using some of my personal goods for work in the warehouse. I found one of my ladders open in the corner of the warehouse as if it was being used. If you do have problems they are difficult to deal with, defensive, and almost impossible to reach. Scary if you are doing an international move and have no local contacts. I am considering legal action if they do not return my goods. I have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau and am considering contacting several local news agencies.

Moving from one country to another is basically quite stressful. You can count on Air 7 seas to add as much hassle to the process as possible. First they quote low. They send very poor packers just by looking them up on the internet. On day of packing we had to most of it ourselves. They brought no material. The shipping truck was delayed. They ended up charging us for the delay. Service at customs was poor from the local partner. Our goods looked worse packed than any others at the warehouse. Most people laughed observing that it looked as though we were moving across town. Needless to say goods were damaged. It took for ever to fight them to get corrected pricing and insurance. The people answering the phones are terrible and will keep passing the call to someone else. My first few weeks were spent staying awake to catch them at their west coast time so that I could try to get my bill rectified. Pay more and get more peace of mind. At least you will not get fleeced....

This is the most corrupted company in USA and is owned by Indians. We had terrible time dealing with them. They quoted us different amount and later charged double the price. They held our shipment and didnt repond, after repeated emails and phones we didnt have choice but to pay the amount and got our goods delivered. They don't respond to emails, the charges doesn't have any basis. There are other companies you could pick for your shippments. We advised our friends also to look for some honest company

If you need to ship (Air/sea) to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, these are the people to call. Faster Transit times, customes clearance, they also do free estimate. Great service at great costs. I highly recommend them. Much cheaper than the UPS's and Fedex's.

PROS: Free estimates and Custom clearance
CONS: Service cannot be compared to Fedex and UPS
