University of the Pacific Dental School

THis is a good dentist office for people that may not have dental insurance. This is a school so it will take you longer to get what you need done to your teeth but if you can be patient it's worth it. I would not recommend this place to younger children because their attention span just isnt good enough for the wait you have to do in order to be seen.

This school provides a great service for people who don't have dental insurance. The students are very professional and all work is over seen by a superior. Sessions can be lenghty but prices are discounted.

University of the Pacific is a well known dental school that operates a clinic in San Francisco. Discounts are offered in exchange for letting dental students do the work. No work is performed without the approval of a dental instructor, and the work is graded so there's an incentive to do a great job on your teeth. They can perform most any work, from routine exams to root canals. I had several fillings done here, including replacing metal with white fillings. I got a 2nd year student, having no problems. Some international students have already worked as dentists in their home country and are becoming USA certified.

PROS: very detail oriented care and lower cost than commercial dentists
CONS: appointments can take up to four hours each at peak times
